    DAIBUTSU KAIKOKU (1934).
This means THE GIANT BUDDHA STATUE'S TRAVEL THROUGH THE COUNTRY.
A giant Buddha statue (labeled “33 meters tall in height”) comes to life and goes on a nation-wide tour to save the people. After visiting some tourist spots in the Chūkyō region (a metropolitan area centering around Nagoya city), the Buddha statue flies away to Tokyo in the clouds. This was going to be a film franchise, but due to financial problems, they never got made.
    Now, it is considered lost.
    Here are some pictures.

Yoshiro Edamasa said to inspire Eiji Tsuburaya to get into the special effects industry. Kind of like the way Willis O'Brien inspired Ray Harryhausen to become a stop-motion animator. Yoshiro akin to Obie had a project that never got made called THE JUDGEMENT OF THE SOULS, which is a science-fiction thriller.

THE BLACK PEARL (1932). Universal's movie about pirates and a giant octopus. The octopus ended up being the monster, Octosak in the FLASH GORDON serial four years later.

BRIDE OF GODZILLA (1956). Follow-up to GODZILLA RAIDS AGAIN, finds Godzilla living in a dark cave. A scientist creates a giant robot in the image of his wife and goes into the cave. Along the way, she fights a giant chameleon, a giant archaeopteryx, Angilas and of course Godzilla. She drops the bomb that kills both, Godzilla, her and the cave. If this got made, the influence would be by METROPOLIS, BRIDE OF FRANKENSTEIN, Kong's cave in KING KONG and The Tunnel of Terror in the old FLASH GORDON serial.

GAMERA VS. WYVERN (1972). Planned Gamera film where the titanic turtle fights a giant dragon-monster with two heads. They wanted to rival King Ghidorah.

Wait. . . Let me see if I'm understanding this right: Godzilla is actually a sentient being named Rozan from a planet of radioactive firebreathers? That's like The Highlander II of Godzilla movies. . . .

In the superhero mind-bender, MR. FREEDOM (1969), there is a giant monster in it named Red China Man. Before there was The Twins from TRANSFORMERS 2, there Red China Man. The look and the way he speaks sounds like a stereo-typical Chinese man.

It looks like GODZILLA ZERO HOUR will never get made.

In 1954, a fourteen year-old Jim Danforth was going to make his own version of 20'000 LEAGUES UNDER THE SEA and was inspired to make his own version of it with his stop-motion skills and glass painting skills. However, during production of this 8mm film, Jim and his friends got a cease and desist letter from Disney. In other words, Disney pulled the plug (and you thought Toho was the only ones who did those things).

While the Steve Barkett and Jim Danforth version of KING KONG was trying to get off-ground in 1974, producer Phil Yordan decided there should be a remake of KING KONG with Eugene Lourie (GORGO and THE BEAST FROM 20'000 FATHOMS) directing it and have stop-motion animator, Robert Maine, who did FLESH GORDON, provide the animation. However, it never got made, because Rob heard from studio executives that, stop-motion animation is useless because it is better off to use a man in a suit because body language and looking into the eye-holes would give the character something for the audience something to feel sorry for.
How come we felt sorry for stop-motion monsters like Kong, Gwangi, Rhedosaurus, Son of Kong, Joe Young and the Brontosaurus from DINOSAURUS? This is nuts!

That big mirror on it's head, that used to it's prey hallucination so it can attack. It has shown up a few times over years the first time was in Superboy #87, then in the one above and one time Supergirl fought the ghost of one in Adventure comics #395.

HEEEY!!! I was just reading a bit about that on the Ultraman Wiki! Or rather, the manga side story that seems to've inspired this project. It's a "gaiden"/side story for the Ultraman Mebius short film that introduced Armored Darkness (Alien Empera's evil animated suit of armor minion), called "Jackal Legion Revenge," or something like that. A side story of a side story, really. Didn't know anyone was trying to animate it, though! Cool find!

    FISH TALES (2002)
This short by Tim Smyth, is about a fishing trip that seems out of the ordinary. It was shot on Super-8 and the dinosaur-ike monster is stop-motion.

OKAY KA FAIRY KO (1991) is a Filipino film that had a dragon that looked too much like Verminthrax from DRAGONSLAYER (1981).

    LOCH NESS LEGEND (1948).
A British cartoon similar to the ones from Famous Studios in that period. This one is about the legendary Loch Ness Monster.

    GARBAGE IN GARBAGE OUT (1985)
American cartoon by Terry Wozniak features a cartoon iteration of Godzilla at the climax. Perhaps it was inspired by GODZILLA 1985.
