Baam, the Carnivorous Super Chef!
|
Baam is another one of those creations that made but only found a use for long after its conception. Like the Jelly Babes, Baam is a minor villain in "Sam Fernandez and His Unwanted Giant Robot" ("Sam-Robo" for short) who hales from the outcast star system of Hungry-M76, and outcast for very good reason.
The Baamins (Baam's people) are not particularly evil, in fact they are one of the most optimistic and happy races in known sentient galactic history. But its their nasty carnivorous appetites and blatant willingness to eat any life-form outside a Baamin that forced many civilizations throughout the galaxy to banish these beings to the isolated and very distant Hungry-M76. The Baamins had a hard time adjusting to this action soon afterwards, with one hundred years of killing and eating off all the animal life Hungry-M76 used to flourish with. Occasional cannibalism and the capturing of any non-Baamin spaceship, unlucky enough to venture too close to its borders.
Then the great slug like Smug, with their superior intellect and even more superior lack of sexual gender, became a major ruling force in the galaxy. And supplied the Baamins (from a safe distance) bioengineering machinery to mass produce non-sentient Clone Meat, or Meat-Mass as those slang loving kids were calling it back then, and thus ending their one hundred year long depression. The Baamins for the most part remain in their little area of the universe in dining peace, but sometimes various members will break the law and leave the borders to bring live, natural breed food back to Hungry-M76 from other civilizations.
One of the worse offenders is Baam, of whom his mother named in honor of their happily deadly species. And in addition to being a successful criminal, he's also a Baamin renowned chef with famous dishes made from his many unfortunate victims which have been served at governmental dinners and shindigs. When the obscure little planet of Earth starts to become known amongst various aliens, Baam sees it as an excellent opportunity to create new recipes from the newly discovered world, mostly human based. But he is pleasantly surprised and quickly thwarted by the Smug's appointed guardian of Earth, Sam Fernandez.
The smiley faces behind Baam reflects his happily killer attitude. And in addition to his own strength and power to become giant size, Baam has an arsenal of mechanical weapons, all comically based on kitchen equipment, like Microwave Cook Guns and the Mighty Fork Lance of Delicious Doom.
