The illustration may remind you as such, but the cinematic creature was hardly Lovecraftian. I guess this once again demonstrates the marvelous talents possessed by this excellent artist. Though I will say that the second or third sequal, called Metamorphosis, had some spectacularly Lovecraftian monstrosites that beared more than a passin resemblance to John Carpenter's The Thing or a Shoggoth.

Agree on the Lovecraft comments,and having a copy of "the deadly spawn"on dvd,I can tell you I like this rendition better.Nicely done man!
