Greetings, and welcome to the Kaijuphile.com Message Board. To ensure that your time here is enjoyable, there are some rules and guidelines that we ask you to follow. Please remember that we ask you to follow these rules in order to keep a more friendly and festive atmosphere here on the forum that is condusive to everyone.
E-MAIL SIGN-UP: (Updated as of 8/15/05)
When registering for our forums, we prefer you use an established E-mail Provider such as AOL, MSN, RoadRunner, Cox, Earthlink, AT&T, Verizon, ect...
You will be allowed to register using a Free E-Mail Service such as Hotmail, Yahoo, Fastmail, ect at this time.
If the free e-mail services become a problem again, we reserve the right to discontinue the allowance of them.
FORUM MEMBER NAME CHANGES: (Updated as of 8/15/05)
A Member may change their name only if approved by an Administrator. If you would like to change your name, please send a PM to any administrator, along with the reason you are changing names.
We reserve the right to refuse any name change. Please refrain from frequent name changes, and do not abuse this privledge.
PERSONAL AVATAR:
Your personal avatar is an image of something that represents you on the forum and allows people to easily identify you. It is limited to a maximum (custom avatar) pixel size of 80x80. If you need help with resizing your photo and or hosting your photo please contact one of the forum Moderators or Administrators for help. You can also PM other members for help with your avatar, as many members that have been here for some time will know how to help you.
SIGNATURE IMAGES: (UPDATED AS OF 8/16/2004)
The posting of images in signatures is allowed. But there should be no more than 1 image and it should have a maximum pixel size of 150 high X 690 wide. Any signature images that exceed this size requirement will be removed from the member’s profile and a warning will be issued. Images should also be NO MORE than 125KB in file size.
PERSONAL MESSENGER SYSTEM:
The Personal Messenger System is for talking privately with other forum members. It should not be used to harass, threaten or do anything obscene or offensive to another member. Doing so will result in a warning and most likely the offender will be banned from the forum. Anyone that receives a PM of this nature is encouraged to forward it to a Moderator or Administrator so that it can be dealt with quickly.
Another thing regarding the PM system, is that members should delete saved PM’s on a regular basis. This includes deleting them from both your Inbox and Sent folder. If there is a PM that you want to save we ask that you simply copy and paste it into a word document and save it on your computer, or use the PM 'export' feature built into the PM system. This will help to free up space on the forum that is better served for other things.
DISCUSSING OTHER KAIJU FORUMS:
Many of our members are frequent patrons at other Kaiju related forums such as 'Monster Zero, Maser City, Toho Kingdom' and many other sites. It is ok to talk about other forums as long as it is kept to a respectful discussion. If you were banned from a site or are having personal problems with someone from another site, then you need to discuss the problem with the staff of that particular site. Please do not bring problems from another forum to the Kaijuphile.com Forums, any posts that do so will be immediately deleted.
We would also like to say to the owners of other Kaiju forum's, if you are having any technical problems with your site, you are more than welcome to use the kaijuphile.com Forum as a way to communicate with and inform your members as to the situation and progress of getting your forum back up and running. Though any members of said forum that have been banned from Kaijuphile.com will not be allowed back onto our forum.
POSTING IMAGES:
Due to bandwidth usage, the Kaijuphile.com Administration requests that you refrain from inserting images directly into your posts. This uses a lot of bandwidth for the site that is hosting the image, which includes images from the Rodan’s Roost Site being posted on the Kaijuphile.com Forum as well. Instead of inserting a picture, we ask that you insert a Link to the picture instead. Moderators and Administrators may edit any posts that have pictures inserted into them so that they show as links. If you are having trouble creating a link to the picture, thread or site you are trying to link to, please ask any Moderator or Administrator for assistance, we will be more than happy to help you out.
AUTOMATIC WORD FILTER:
This forum contains an automatic censor that will block out many curse words, slurs or names meant to insult someone's race, sex, heritage and more. This is done to keep the boards friendly and to keep things respectable for our younger users or families concerned where their children post. It is also done to help prevent flame wars.
Anyone that attempts to circumvent this by typing a word in an unusual way, such as adding dashes or spaces between letters will have their post edited or deleted. It may also lead to the poster being warned and or banned if it is not the first occurrence. The goal is to keep the forum a friendly place where everyone can participate in the discussions without worry.
FLAMING:
Flaming is a subjective term that implies an attack of some sort on another forum member and is highly frowned upon. Generally a Flame is a post that is made to be offensive, threatening, or vulgar and is done with the sole intent to draw another member into a disruptive confrontation.
This is something that is not easily defined and as a result is up to the discretion of the Moderators and Administrators of Kaijuphile.com to decide if a post is considered a flame. If a post is deemed a flame, it will be deleted and the poster warned and possibly banned if this is a reoccurring problem. If your post was deemed a flame and you don’t agree with that, please contact a Moderator or Administrator via Email or the PM system to discuss the matter. Do not make a thread on the forum to discuss the matter or it will be deleted.
SPAMMING:
Spamming like flaming is a subjective term used to denote posts that are made with the sole intent of increasing the posters level on the forum, and is extremely frowned upon.
Types of posts that could be considered as Spamming are: one word posts, posting just smilies, making many repeated posts one after another, posting the same thing over may threads and others. Again, this is very subjective and is up to the Moderators and Administrators to decide if someone is spamming or not.
Any posts that are deemed as spam will be deleted and the poster warned and or banned if this is a reoccurring problem. Anyone that feels that their post was not a spam post should contact a Moderator or Administrator via Email or the PM system. Do not start a thread in the forum to discuss it or it will be immediately deleted.
BOOTLEG DISCUSSION:
We would appreciate that the discussion of Bootleg merchandise be kept to a minimum, as Toho dislikes bootlegs and anything to do with them. We also ask that you do not post the name, address or website of any Bootleg dealer. If you feel you must discuss them, we ask that the discussion is kept to things like the quality of the bootleg, or that you were sold a bootleg when you thought you were buying a real authorized item, etc. The preferred method of discussing Bootlegs though is through e-mails or via the PM system.
POLITICAL & RELIGIOUS DISCUSSION:
The Kaijuphile.com Administration asks that Political and Religious topics be avoided. There are to many people of varying political and religious backgrounds that use our forum, and these types of discussions tend to get out of control very quickly and in the end don’t usually solve much of anything.
Any posts that discuss these subjects will be removed and the poster warned. Remember, we do not ask you to refrain from this to prevent any of your beliefs, but in order to keep a friendly atmosphere on the forum.
RACE AND SEX DISCUSSION:
The Kaijuphile.com Administration asks that issues of Race, Sex and Sexuality be avoided. There are many people of varying Race, Heritage, Sex and Sexual Orientation, not to mention varying ages, that use our forum. As a result, these types of discussion tend to get out of hand, so it is best that they be avoided. Any posts that discuss these subjects will be removed and the poster warned. Again we ask that you do this not to prevent any of your beliefs, culture or orientation, but in order to keep a friendly atmosphere on the forum.
MULTIPLE ACCOUNTS:
Kaijuphile does not allow members to have multiple accounts. Any member found to have multiple accounts will have all but one deleted and a warning issued to the remaining account. Repeat offenders may also be banned. If you have a specific need to have multiple accounts, then please contact the Kaijuphile Administration before registering so that we can discuss it, and either approve or decline the request.
