Who else rides motorcycles?
I ride a 2005 Kawasaki Z50S. A standard, with a detuned (100 HP) sportbike motor.
She's fuel injected, wears good tires and good brakes, and is loads of fun.

Is this pic to big?

Heh. Motorcycles don't make a great deal of sense where I come from... Snowmachine are the favored entertainment.
Now that I'm in Indiana, we'll see...

On the street? :-P
ATV's are alot more fun off road than bikes.
Having a friend with two 1st place national MX championships (vintage bikes) means eating alot of dirt when trying to keep up with him. With his girlfriend on the back!
I think I would stand a better chance with 4 wheels...

Do you mean snowmobile?
Must admit I have never ridden one, what with living in FL and all.
They look very heavy and it looks like the rider absorbes as much of the bumps as does he machine.
I've seen some modified ones running in mud races, but thats about as close as I've come to one.

No, I bloody well mean snowmachine. And someday you heathen southerners will too. ;)

Not really. Ever since they started building them with a reverse gear, they've been easy to manage.

Cole, I don't believe you.
It is perfectly possible to drive a mortorcycle in Alaska. I know because my dad drove one.

^ Yeah, for four months out of the year. I didn't mean that NOBODY rode, I mean it's a bad idea if you're talking about use for your dollar.

Depends on where that four months is. My dad rode his in Point Barrow.

Good for him. Location means diddly to what I'm trying to get through your skull.
What I am saying(please, for the love of god, pay attention) is that to a full-time resident, it makes more sense to buy a snowmachine than a motorcycle.

I knew what you were saying the first time.
I am just diagreeing with some of what you are saying. To get from point A to point B, a snowmachine doesn't always do the trick, as Alaska isn't covered in completly snow for the other 8 months.
Perhaps in the wilds and in Fairbanks (of which I have little knowledge; my parents say it is the hottest and the second coldest place in the entire state depending on season) snowmachines work best, but not in Anchorage or Point Barrow. My dad said he only used snowmachines to go outside the city.
And I do know what you are saying. I am just disagreeing for some places of Alaska, though I do concede to your knowledge of Fairbanks.

Right now the bike is pretty much a decoration, since it wont stop raining! Argh, I suppose all we'd need for your prediction to come true is for that rain to freeze...

I'll take your word for it, since I dont have a snowballs chance in hell of riding one down here.
I'll stick to jet skis and motorcycles.

Actually Cole, as I go back and re-reqad this, I have actually no idea why I was even arguing with you. Yesterday was an off-day, as I was recovering from an illness, and it would seem that my mind was not fully with me as I go back an read posts I made yesterday.
I apologize for my perhaps brash and ignoring behavior.

Ummm.....yeah?
Yeah, they are great to ride in rough trials, and knee deep mud. (No Sarcasim)
Actually, if your skilled enough, you can travel the road in a "Snowmachine" (To Humor Cole) if you stay to the side of the road enough where most of the snow usually ends up from Snowplows and the such.

Hydrolocked my 1st bike in that gunk, a Suzuki DR350. I was expecting all kinds of mechanical trauma when we tore down the engine. Surprise surprise! No broken rod, or anything. All it needed was a good cleaning, fresh oil and a touch of the starter.
Needless to say, the 5 mile hike back to civilization pushing a bike with a locked rear tire convinced me to get a street bike.
