1. Godzilla vs the smog monster- I hated everything in this score and lets leave it at that!
2. Godzilla vs Megalon- All I care to remember are those horrible blaring sounds, namely in the scene where Godzilla and JJ are surrounded by fire.
3. Godzilla vs Mechagodzilla (1974)- The King Seesar song and the final battle theme will always remain bitter to me. This film clearly started off with the intention of being more serious than the previous 70's films and the score totally wrecked that.
4. GMK- My opinion on this score isnt based on how good the composition was, but more on the lines that I feel it failed to achieve the effect the film was trying to produce. The scenes in which the GMK Goji smashes everything and slaughters people had this really stereotypically bland Kaiju music when a recycled theme from Godzilla 1984 would have set the mood perfectly.
5. Godzilla 2000- I really feel this score had no inspiration at all. They just needed a military theme, got some instruments and made a noise with them. (However I did like the theme where Orga tries to swallow Godzilla)

I dunno, most Godzilla movies have great music. I'm going with Godzilla vs Biollante on this one. Why? Firstly, the SX2 theme got quite annoying, secondly, when Godzilla attacks, they play CARNIVAL MUSIC! Sheesh!

Oh my goodness, I loved the Biollante score, it was beautiful.

Eugh, thanks for opening old wounds. Yeah, I couldn't stand the music from those two. I think the blaring sounds were trumpets, and yes they did totally blow.

Biollante's was very, odd. And the fight at sea's was horrible. It sounded like a 70's superhero theme

G2K's I felt was pretty nice. The film was apparently trying to have a darker feeling, so big music is something that shouldn't be used there. For what they put in, both old and new, it was well done

On the other hand, GXM's was very annoying, and the drumming march sounded awful. Although it was re-used in GxMG, it was modified to sound more epic, and serious. Then Tokyo SOS's score was just a rehash of old themes, for the most part. Not very good, either

Dude, I'll tell you what's wrong. Godzilla's kickdrop music. It sounds like some 70's burger king commercial.

Wow, it looks as though people are as hard on the musical scores as they are on the movies....I hate to hear what people would say about the Mothra Trilogy scores, even though I thought they were wonderful.:sarcasm:

It would be safe to say I absolutely love every Godzilla musical score  with the exception of GMK. Not sure if a reason exists - just do not care for it.

Even though GvsHedorah was a GREAT movie the musical score was a let down.

http://img166.imageshack.us/img166/7392/ntur1donkey0rp.jpgIMO the worst score: Godzilla's Revenge(1969) :there was one positive about the score of this movie- the film was worse Honorable mention for worst score: Godzilla Vs Megalon-the quacking Godzilla theme leaves much to be desired.:eyebrow:

Godzilla vs. Hedorah and Godzilla vs. Megalon scores sounded like someone learned to play the trumpet in 3 lessons.

Godzilla's Revenge sounded like a 70's dance music.

GMK just didn't work for me.

Godzilla vs. Space Godzilla- when godzilla shows up in Kagoshima, that was a nice score--------but did it have to be used over and over again where it didn't fit. About the only score i liked from this movie was Mogera's theme.

Godzilla vs. Biolante-- The score was so bad they had to drag Ifukube's music in to smooth it out! And yes the Super x 2 theme became very annoying.

Godzilla vs. Gigan-- My only two complaints are that i wish some were original--and oh my freaking god the theme music just ruined the end of the fight.

I loved Biollante's and GMK's scores, they were the best out of the whole series! As for the worst, it was Megalon's, and several spots in the other old movies-it was WAY to loud and annoying.

Godzilla's revenge would be top on my list. It was just aweful.

Oh crap. I just noticed that this thread is talking about the WORST music in the series, NOT the best! I apologize for missing that--I miss read. Sorry. On that note, the Megalon film has the worst music, as well as Hedorah.

WORST MUSIC

1. Godzilla vs. the Smog Monster
Smoke weed, anyone?

2. Godzilla's Revenge
The Rise of the 70s

3. Godzilla vs. Megalon
Yup. The 70s.

4. Godzilla vs. Gigan
More 70s madness.

5. Son of Godzilla
Not the 70s, but still wacko.

To me, there is no worst.
I divide godzilla scores into good and I dont care.

Not even the wako and utterly stupid sounding yet srangely enticing blaring sounds of the GvH and GvM ones...

1. ALL the seventys Godzilla scores, althogh TOMG was a improvment.

2. GMK. sorry guys but this one just did not fit the film.

3. DAM. got really anoying REALLY quick.

4. GFW. WHAT WAS TOHO THINKING! geting a old rock guy from the 60,s to do a Godzilla soundtrack? NO! you HAVE to have ORCHRASTRA( did I spell that right?) music for Godzilla. Now the score would have worked for the matrix or somthing.:hmmm:

Godzilla vs. Hedorah. Don't really have much to add other than I liked the Revenge theme in a bizarre way. I also liked the Megaguirus version of Godzilla's theme more than the Kiryu series' version, though I haven't heard either in a while and may be confusing them.

I'd have to say most of the non-Ifukube music from the 70s, and the ****y pseudo-punk music from Final Wars.

I personally didn't mind "Godzilla vs. Gigan" having nothing but recycled music. I'd rather have good music rehashed than the sort of god-awful new music that was given to "Godzilla vs. Hedorah" and "Godzilla vs. Megalon".

Oh yeah, how I could I forget GFW?! I'm guessing in order, it would go:

Megalon
Revenage
Hedorah
GFW

Those are the worst. EHOTD didn't have a note worthry score, and SOG and GvsMG are the best either, but they're cerain a step ahead of most of the 70s' films. GFW had it's moments, they were few and far between.
