I have an idea that could add a nice twist to the tourny...
What if each monster has a sort of homefield? Like an arena or region that that kaiju works best in. At the start of each match the arena is randomly determined. It could spice up the fights and even be the difference between who wins. Some monsters will work better in cities while others will need a wide open plane. Imagine the difference if DGH and leviathan fought, instead of in a real world city but instead randomly were chosen to fight on (insert name of malkuirus replacement here)'s island chain? see a difference?

Our constant procrastinating has put us now in conflict with the dual Roost Fighter tournaments if we launch anytime soon. So I'll pull a Rareware, another delay!

Update: I have ironed out a new storyline for Arena of Nightmares along with concocting an Upgrade system. The players gain points for wins (bonuses for beating the Minibosses) and they can put their points toward upgrades in two categorys, State Upgrades and New Powers. Stat Upgrades are self explanatory. New Powers are more expensive, and can give your monster a serious edge in battle Purchasable powers include things such as Regeneration, Flight, Corona Beam, etc, along with a special slew of secret attacks being developed. Purchased attacks will be upgradable, eventually translating into an Uber-attack.

The new storyline will be posted soon.

This is the new discussion thread being created, along with an update. The arenas for the tournament are now in production. Heres a sample of what you'll be seeing later on.

Tsunami-Strike New Delhi
The grand city of New Delhi, sounds like a great place to fight. It all seems like a generic city arena until Tsunamis start striking the city, and they strike hard. The giant waves will continually smash the city, and your kaiju, throughout the fight.

Each arena has Help/Hindrance Factor, something that may give one of the combatants the edge in a fight. And remember, each H/H Factor is major, so don't expect to be faced with a puny factor that won't affect your monster.

Arena production is finished, the next item of attention will be minibosses and bosses. The Kaiju Khronicles Staff is developing an interesting slew of minibosses, so be prepared for some of the oddest kaiju fights you have ever seen.

EDIT: And now that's out of the way. If you kaiju won, you have the option of writing a fight finisher. If you don't want to, Gorjirus will do it.



Minibosses aren't allowed to advance, so if an MB won a match it'll be replaced next round by another kaiju.

PH gave me the option of having Arashi come in as a miniboss last round since I missed the very start of the tournament, but I turned him down because I wanted to give my kaiju the chance of reaching the top.

Even though he probably won't make it to the winner's circle this time since (I assume) he won't have access to two rounds of upgrades, I'm officially entering Arashi into the tournament to replace one of the leaving mini-bosses – just to see how he’ll fare.

Arashi's final stats have been approved by PH over private message and I plan to put up a new profile before Friday that'll clarify Arashi's powers a little better. If there's one thing I've seen, it's that you need to be as specific as possible in these so people don't think you're making things up as you go along. Plus the one I have up now wasn’t really meant for tournament fighting. It was taken word-for-word from my kaiju profiles thread, which was only intended as a supplement to my fanfics.

So, if you’ll have him, Arashi is in.

Featuring the new and improved Arashi (stats approved by PH):

NAME: Arashi

TYPE: Manmade Dragon

ROLE: Neutral Hero

HEIGHT: 120 meters w/ 175 meter wingspan

WEIGHT: 77,500 Tons

POWERS:
Energy Bolt - Similar in appearance to Ghidorah’s gravity beams, except there’s only one and it’s an electric blue instead of yellow. It is emitted from Arashi’s mouth and is larger and more focused than one of Ghidorah’s gravity beams. It has the same gravity properties as Ghidorah’s weapon, but is also mixed with electricity to create a devastating projectile. The energy bolt has enough kinetic force behind it to potentially topple all but the largest and heaviest kaiju. Has to be fired in bursts, can’t be used in a steady stream.

Superheated Claws - Arashi can summon his energy into his claws, causing them to glow white hot. As Arashi strikes his enemies with this attack, the electricity is bled out into the opponent’s body, causing damage on the cellular level. Arashi has to continually feed energy into his claws if he wants his superheated claws to strike at full strength with every blow.

Shield Wings - Arashi can use the bony points on his wings as focusers to create an energy shield across them that he can then use to cover himself and block attacks. The shield is flexible and can retain its strength no matter how Arashi’s wings move or fold. While the shield is mostly good for blocking range attacks, it’ll also electrify anything that is foolish enough to come into contact with it. The downside of the shield is that it’s mostly effective for blocking attacks from the front and sides. His wings aren’t flexible enough to block attacks that come from behind him.

External Energy - To superheat his claws or create his shield wings, Arashi’s energy has to flow on the outside of his body. The electricity is drawn from his spines which is then directed to the appropriate area. Arashi can also use this ability to electrify his entire body or to release that energy in an explosion of power. Note: this has no effect on his energy bolt.

Electricity Transfer - Arashi can absorb all manner of electricity and use it to replenish himself and/or accelerate his natural regeneration. He can also do the reverse and pump massive amounts of electricity into an opponent/object. He is able to do this through his claws, mouth, or the spines on his back.

Accelerated Healing - The power of electricity that flows through Arashi has gifted him with an enhanced immune system. Although he is not immune to contagions, his body can quickly identify any harmful foreign object that makes its way inside and neutralize it much faster than a normal body.

Triphibian - Arashi can move through land, sea, and air. Although Arashi can breathe underwater and his body can withstand enormous pressure, he’s not an adept swimmer. (acrobatics -2 when underwater). He currently cannot survive long in space.

Other Abilities - Human level intelligence, flight at mach 3, hurricane winds from wings, high tolerance for radiation, can generate an EMP from within his body, and has a whiplike/prehensile tail that can be used to wrap around objects or strike like a whip.

APPEARANCE: Arashi very closely resembles the Western idea of a dragon. He’s primarily a biped, but he can walk along on all fours with little difficulty. His powerful arms end in hands with three taloned fingers and a thumb. His muscular neck is vaguely snakelike and about half the size of King Ghidorah’s.

He has a column of thin spines running down his back that end at the base of his tail and glow white when he fires his energy bolt. On his nose is a large horn. His eyes have glowing red irises that burn brighter when he gets angry. He is covered in deep blue scales.

FIGHTING SYLE: Arashi is cunning and intuitive, able to devise strategies and adapt to changing conditions or fighting styles. He knows his own powers well and when he should, or should not, use a particular power. He also has a strong curiosity streak and will usually start out a fight getting a feel for his opponent before fully committing himself to a battle. Once he does, Arashi looks for weak spots or general weaknesses and won’t hesitate to exploit them once he finds one. He does this to end the fight as quickly as possible, not out of any type of mean streak. He doesn’t care about playing fair, only defeating his opponent.

However, if Arashi loses control of himself to the evil essence of King Ghidorah that lies within his very DNA, he’ll become a cruel, sadistic killer and his intelligence will lower (Intelligence: -4). In this state, he cares only about the kill and will attack anything he sees as a threat, heedless of the damage he might open himself up to. He still has access to all of his powers, but his use of them will be more random. For Arashi to lose control it usually takes a lot of damage coupled with outside hostile stimuli or some kind of event that triggers a feral memory. The chances of him losing control are lessened if Saeko Chen is with him.

HISTORY: Arashi was created by the brilliant geneticist, and amateur kaijuologist, Hikaru Chen to be the ultimate defender of humanity. Hikaru used cell samples taken from King Ghidorah to engineer his own kaiju, never realizing that King Ghidorah’s evil essence would infest his new kaiju. To keep Arashi from becoming another killer, Hikaru gifted his kaiju with a powerful intellect to combat the darker nature of Ghidorah. Mothra’s priestesses, the Shobijin, also helped to exorcise the majority of King Ghidorah’s corrupting influence from Arashi, but even they couldn’t remove everything.

Hikaru was killed soon after Arashi’s birth and it fell to his only daughter, Saeko, to watch over Arashi. Two things:

One. If you want Gor to know that you do not want Ryagama to be referred to as an insect, or have him change that one word in his recap, you could easily have sent him a Personal Message, instead of whining about it in the fight thread. It was an honest mistake though, I would have thought Ryagama was an insect kaiju as well.

Two. Gorjirus DID have Baktura use the corona beams. A lot. In fact, most of the attacks Baktura used on Ryagama were corona beams. When he used his tail on her, she was already almost dead, it just did the finishing touch. As for the armor, he put in plenty phrases such as "Corona Beams ripped into Rygama's flesh" and "he Corona Beams shredded its flesh, driving deep into its mass." I would say it is a fair assumption that her armor was already badly damaged. He wasn't trying to insult Ryagama in any way.

Well, you must admit that without a physical description or a picture in the profile posted for the fight (do you have a picture of her?) it's hard for people to know exactly what a kaiju looks like. I think it's more of the stinger with the toxic venom that makes a person naturally think of an insect.

Bio, I swear that it was an honest mistake. I did think that Rygama was an insect kaiju. (Though my curiosity is piqued; if not an insect, what is it?) Also, this is pretty much done from how Baktura would think of things. I doubt he would take the time to discern wether Rygama was an insect or not. But something flying around, with claws and a stinger, he will categorize it with insects. Like how people used to put whales with fish and bats with birds.

Actually, that's not true. Dark Jesus's Eye Beams went out of control when they couldn't penetrate the Uber Ninja Pirate's shield, and he went flying back into the growing explosion of Seer's Tower. The UNP died at the same time when the Eye Beams finally punched through the shield and instakilled it.



As for PH's to-be-written story, Kung Fu Jesus gouged out DJ's eyes and then beat him to death. At least I think so.
