I'm not talking about power or strength, I'm talking about pure evil. Which monster would top the list as being the most black hearted?

Destroyah ususally gets credit for this, as demonstrated when she killed junior before godzilla's eyes. Still, I tend to doubt this, eeing as how junior had seriously hurt des earlier on, I tendt ot hink it was more along the lines of revenge or perhaps eliminating an enemy which had proven to be dangerous before. Who knows whether or not she actually cared of godzilla saw.

But my vote goes to spacegodzilla. Just plain sadistic, blasting godzilla off his feet before toning down his arsenal and letting him suffer...thats pretty evil to me.

Then again, king ghidorah does scour entire planets of life life for no apparent reason so maybe my vote should go to him..

Destroyah is. Killing off the weaker foe while having the stronger foe watch is kind of sadistic. Not to mention all the sadistic things he did to Godzilla. Laser horn, ambush, shooting him in the back. Yea all the dishonorable things anything can do.

I would say Destoroyah, Death Ghidorah, or Grand Ghidorah would be the most evil. Destroyah was relentless when he battled Godzilla, he also killed JR, which really messed with big G's sanity. Death Ghidorah was just plain evil, he stomped on the Mothra larva, bit her, tossed her on the ground, bit onto the adult and threw her, stomped on her wings. How evil can you get. And Grand Ghidorah was about the same, biting, stomping, ripping of the wings (Cretaceous Ghidorah).

Grand Ghidorah.

I mean...he specifically targeted little children for Pete's sake!!

Can you say "Molestation Ghidorah"?

Grand Ghidorah.

I highly doubt GG's sole intention is to molest children, more like eating them (which is pretty sadistic in its own sense).

Sooooooo des is a human with a human mind an a human concept of evil, sadism, family, pain and honor?

She enjoyed seeing godzilla hurt because she was trying to beat him. Atleast that's more likely than her actually being a sadistic creature.

Also, I wouldn't consider shots to the back evil. How many other kaiju have done it? Its called tactical maneuvering.
The laser horn is a weapon, Its designed to be USED. I wouldn't call use of a natural ability sadistic on any level.

Ambush...No, next thing.

Killing junior...Again, Junior had wounded des badly, early on. Des clearly A: wanted revenge(Not an idea we promote but hardly evil) or 2: Wanted to make sure that that didn't happen again. Which is a given.
I really don't see what makes des any more evilt han any other villain.

I stand by what I say, a ghidorah takes the cake, des is a nasty customer by any standard but I see no reason to beleive that she's really evil by the human concept.
I think people just like sadistic characters and wanted des to be one.

Sokogecki Goji. He was one the very few Kaiju that actually had a conscious, and he still chose to kill hundreds.

Grand Ghidorah isn't evil. He took the children because that is his FOOD SUPPLY. Taking something that you eat for a living isn't really "evil".

Space Godzilla or Destroyah choosing to act in the way they did (revenge and such) that is what makes them evil.

Showa and Death Ghidorah would be evil as well.

Well, technicly, I dont think any of them are truely evil per-say. They are all, mostly, just animals, like biochemitra pointed out. They dont really have thought prosesses like we do, as far as we know. Bio is right- Destroyah killing Jounior and slicing Godzilla apart would seem evil, but is just instinct. However, the way we interpret it (and probably the film was screenplayed) is as an evil act. However, the people who controll what the kaiju do, like all of those repetitive aliens and poor Ghidorah, could be called evil, and they relay violent actions through their monster. So I suppose it is interpretation.

However, I find one exeption to this, and that's Godzilla GMK. He's a big monster yes, however there seemed to be a ton of though proccess going on there, like if he was a thinking human. He was devilishly cunning, and knew exactly what he was doing. He was bright one- smarter than most of the idiots I know. The way he fought and perpously traveled to Tokyo again was all his evil idea, especially killing specific, innocent people around him. I mean, he saw Uri (sp?) and that other reporter guy on the shore, and was very intent on blowing them away. That's evil. Unless you say he was controlled by the spirits, but some how I dont think so. The spirits of WWII could literally a bunch or spirits that brought him to life, or a metaphore used to discribe Godzilla's rebirth and desire to blow up Japan, if you want to think about it that much. Though I dont think the metaphore thing is correct, it is an interesting thought. However, I stand on Godzilla GMK as being one of the only true "evil" monsters. (Irys would probably count too, but I wont go there)

In no particular order

King Ghidorah (showa)
Death Ghidorah
GMK Godzilla
Space Godzilla
Destroyah.

Most Godzilla monsters aren't evil at all, that's the interesting thing. They kill thousands and thousands of people, but they are not evil, that is just what they do. How could they understand the value of human life? They're animals... big ones with special abilities.

There are a few exceptions:

Showa Ghidorah
GMK Godzilla

Really... those are the only ones I can think of that I'd label "evil"

I would have said Godzilla 54, but he's not evil. He's a force of nature, not bound by such titles.

Showa Ghidorah and GMK Godzilla, on the other hand...

Gaila from War Of The Gargantuas gets my vote. He just seemed to relish eating people, which is pretty friggin' evil to me.

I would have to cast my vote for the 70's mecha godzilla, especially when he would unleash all his weapons at once, then again he was controled.

i also think King Ghidorah from the 60's makes the cut.

My next choice would deffinitly be Gaira.

actually it was just intelligent. des wanted to get rid of junior so he could concentrate solely on godzilla himself. it was simply the easiest way to win the fight...one on one instead of one on two.

Well I would guess in that sence, we relish eating cows...or parts of em anyway. Again, it's how you look at it.

Gabara.

No, seriously. You can *see* the sneering bully in his face. He goes out of his way to torture Minya on a daily basis, and gets his twisted, sadistic pleasure from inflicting pain upon those who can't fight back. Gabara is a joke, power-wise, and he certainly doesn't look or sound scary, but he's a cruel, dispicable, utterly detestable creature. Being the product of the mind of a bullied child, and a stand-in for a real human being, we cannot pass off his aggression on animalistic factors such as territory, self defence, or other such instincts.

While he may not be as awe inspiring as most Kaiju, and his motivations are petty, all in all, Gabara has no redeeming factors. He shows no compassion for other beings, revels in their suffering, and he conciously makes an effort to make life miserable for others. Weak as Gabara may be, there's no denying that he is an evil Kaiju.

...Okay, so there are a bunch of far nastier Kaiju I could have picked. But Gabara deserves some recognition! xp

It's very hard to classify most Toho kaiju as "evil" in a human sense. Most of them come off merely as vicious overgrown animals. Even Showa Ghidorah seemed more like a mindless force rather than a truely evil-minded creature. Hedorah was just a creature placed in an enviroment that couldn't support it. Gaira was just a carnivorous creature trying to survive, and didn't have the benefit of being "raised" and tamed by humans like Sanda was.

But, every now and then, Toho does come up with a monster who is truely twisted and sadistic, a monster who kills for little more than the enjoyment of doing so, or has a truely malevolent goal it is trying to acheive. Such creatures that come to mind include-

GMK Godzilla
Gabara
Spacegodzilla
Destroyer
Orga

Not a very big list.

how about Space godzilla. He came to earth just to kill godzilla so he could rule the world. The closest thing to evil i can think of. The other kaiju were just basicaly folowing instinct. Space Godzilla had a freaken Plan. Kill My oposition so i can rule!

Just my opinion though.

I would say Space Godzilla. I agree the others action based on instinct and when one hurt the other. I am going to hurt you back. Space Godzilla was born in deep space. Comes all the way to Earth just to attack so the world could be his. And he was trying to pull off his plan at all cost. To me that was evil.
