<font color='#008080'>Just in: while snooping for the G:STE video/trailer, I spotted the trailer for a game called none other than CALL OF CTHULHU: DARK CORNERS OF THE EARTH! Unfortunatly, I cannot download it, so you guys will just have to check it out. I'll post the link for it in just a minute.

<font color='#008080'>Here's the link. (http://www.xbox.com/en-us/e32004/cthulhu.htm) It's gonna be a first person shooter, but we get to see Cthulhu and some of the other Elder Gods in it! It also has an element from the game called Eternal Darkness in the form of a "Sanity Meter," a meter which, the lower it gets, the harder it is to solve puzzles.
This new installment into the video game horror genre is confirmed for Xbox. HP Lovecraft fans, come hither!

Lovecraft must be spinning in his grave.

Found this interesting article from Dread Central about two upcoming COC games: Dark Corners of the Earth and Destiny's End. Both look pretty good thus far, so I hope to get them when they come out: http://www.horrorchannel.com/dread/modules.php?op=modload&name=News&file=article&sid=1739

Good to see them sticking mostly with what seems to be Deep Ones, most of lovecraft's stuff doesn't translate all that well to the visual medium (how do you show indescribable horrors after all?)

(how do you show indescribable horrors after all?)By using your imagination! Just look at some of the rediculous ideas Carpenter, Botten, and Kuipers came up for The Thing. The sheer creativity put into that film...
But now I'm trolling, so I'll stop.

None of which actually shatter the sanity.
If they stick to the Mi-Go, the Deep Ones, Yig cultists, and maybe a few Dreamlands elements, they should do fine.
Go much deeper and they'll just be ticking me off.

Thought this might make a few of you interested or mad, saw the ad for the game in the back of a comic I was reading.

Yeah, the game after seven very long years is finally out!
Yeah, I knew it was out, but I'm still waiting for the PC version, which isn't supposed to arrive until March. Grrr...

I've heard alittle about this, but not much. Mostly what I've heard are rants about why it kept getting delayed. If the PC version isnt out to march, what is out now? Mac? or is it on a console and I've somehow completely missed hearing about its release?

The Xbox version of Dark Corners was released last month. While its been getting stellar reviews, advertising for it is almost nil, so I think that for a game that has been waited on for seven years, it was kindof dissapointing that it didn't get the kind of fanfare it deserved.
However, the good news I've read states that this is probably the best attempt at a Lovecraftian game ever. I'll make sure to get the PC version in March, as I'm deing to play it.
As for Destiny's End, that should be arriving in October '06. It looks good thus far, though I fear it won't like up to the quality of Dark Corners.

I won't buy those games...not unless you can play as Cthulthu or one of those other Lovecraftian fiends. That would be awesome to the highest degree.

Do you not play any video game unless you are some uber strong creature/character that cannot be destroyed and the game is relatively easy to complete?

Its my preference in games, I happen to like obliterating everything in sight. But those type of games aren't the only ones I play, I also happen to be a fan of the Tony Hawk games and the Viewtiful Joe series along with Mario and Sonic. And when it comes to a game's difficulty, that has absolutely no deciding factor when I go out to buy a game. I'll complain about the game being too hard or too easy after I play it.
