In many of the films, Goji was designed in a way harkening back to his 1954 roots. Which do you think did a better job at it?
Heres my list.
'84 Goji- This suit just kept screaming 'Godzilla' at me. The face, the way it moved, everything about it made me associate it with shodai.
GMK Goji- Well, the body is shodai like, but I never thought of it as being as accurate as 84. I mean, the head and spines are so heisei.
KiryuGoji- On far away shots, this beast really did look like shodai, with its stiff, plump look and jagged yet small spines.

A lot of suits have tried to copy the shodai look, but without success. I believe I now have the answer, the mouth. In GKOTM, his mouth was very wide, the corners of his mouth going way past his eyes. With this and the fact that his teeth jutted out, he reminded me a lot of spaceGodzilla.

wow, you have a point there. that's pretty interesting. i for one think the eyes have something to do with it; they just seem somehow human, and evil, and looking down upon everythng they're just plain scary. the mouth does seem to add to it. and those ears... the weirdest thing, a giant dinosaur with ears, but it really almost makes Godzilla's image so well known, even when you dont notice it. the ears make a distinct difference, almost subconsiously.

I agree the teeth is one of the features I loved. The ears are a nice feature too. And those eyes wooo. The other great feature is the spines. They each was different from the other. Later suits had them nearly the same in shape in shape.

Godzilla 84 to me. After this suit the fangs wasn't used again in that form. The 84's fangs was very close to the orginal. After that they became small and plenty.

Well I would have to say the Godzilla 2000 suit captured the nostolgic feel of Godzilla 1954 imo the G2000 suit looked like an updated Godzilla 54 suit. Not only that but just watching some of the first few scenes in G2000 and seen Godzilla break through the Electric towers ala G54. Now there are a few other Godzillas versions that captured the G54 essence but not the same look. Godzilla 2000 suit did imho. David Nunez Gojira11354

Goji 84 all the way, aside from the original Gojira this is the definetive Goji in my eyes. The way the suit was designed from the body to the spines and most definetly the head and face. Those are still the best Goji facial animatronics I have ever seen IMO.

I remember when I went to see Godzilla 1985 and I saw the movie poster looked ok but it seemed that Godzillas face was smashed in. And the poster and artwork as wellas how Godzilla looked in the movie.I think he reselmbed an Avacado same avacado green color. AHHH I hate that Godzilla design thank Godzillas look was improved for Godzilla vs. Biollante. But I never felt that Godzilla84/84 captured the original 1954 essance. But as I said before Godzilla 2000 was without a doubt a revamped Godzilla 1954 with diffrent back fins.

GFW - maybe not the spines, but the head with those ears and fangs? Works for me. The only complaint I have is the bottom jaw needs thickening. Godzilla's mouth looked weak in that movie and I always imagine him being strong all over...so even his bite would be deadly.

In my opinion Godzilla 2000 suit captured the feel of KingGoji and not ShodaiGoji. 84Goji takes the cake with the most resemblance.

The G84 and G91, and GMK suits look similar to the original suit. G84 has the teeth, the otehr two have the body, and GMK sort of has the face right, the big eye brow ridges of GMK resemble G54.

I agree with Oni. G84, G91 and of course the GMK suit remind me most of the Gojira depicted in the original film.

Yep, I found out G91 did when I saw an old photo in the 1954 suit next to the Wako clock tower. The photo used to be on MZ's gallery, but not anymore.

The 1991 suit resembles the 54 suit when looked at from the same angle.
