Any other Star Wars fans here customize the Commanders and the troopers to characters not released?
I think I did a bit better with Bly than the other commanders that I painted. I will touch him up and repost new pix tomorrow.

After looking at his pix I noticed that the yellow stripe on his head was over the "bump" in the middle so I just painted over it.

I took a Pauldron off of one of the CC's and put it on a reg clone. Then hit him with some black paint.
I call him my Clone Captain

Wow! Those are pretty cool! I really like the black and red ones! Where did you get these guys at that you could paint them? A hobby store?

Thanks.
They are the basic 3 and 3/4" figs that are in the stores right now.

Hey, not a half-bad job!
This is no slight on your painting skills, but I just have to say this about Star Wars in general: as dumb as bright white armor for soldiers is, bright red and yellow markings on it are even dumber, especiallly when it denotes your commanders for easy sniping. Maybe battle droids can't see in color?

Call me crazy, I just felt like making a topic like this. I know that we have members of varying ages here so this should prove to be an interesting thread I think.
My earliest memories are from the early 80s when I first discovered dinosaurs and Godzilla. As such I became very attached to the 'Imperial' dinosaur toy line that was available at the time at local department stores like K-mart, Harts and Woolworth's, usually piled in large metal bins on top of each other.
After this was the original Star Wars figures, I was never much of a vehicles person. But I loved the Rancor and Wampa figures!:D
Next was 'He-man' ofcourse, of which I collected several of the figures. I think my favorites were the Horde villains and the snakemen.
'Rocks and Bugs and things' a very obscure toy line that featured push button transforming rocks and bugs into various hideous creatures.
After that was 'Battle Beasts'(2" inch tall toys that were humanoid hybrids of practically every damn animal in the animal kingdom, they were different colors with body armor and cybernetic parts along with a heat reactive sticker on their chests that showed the insignia of wood, fire or water.) I was ridiculously obsessed with these damn things, I managed to collect every single one of them too, I think my favorite was the Shark battle beast.
In 1985 I picked up my first Goji toy, the 6' inch Imperial release which I would play with endlessly for countless years to come. Many battles were had between he and my Wampa and I had a tiny stuffed Donkey Kong toy of comparative size that I always pretended was King Kong.
Next was 'Transformers', but I mostly stuck with the dinobots, I always pretended that 'Grimlock' in dino mode was Mechagodzilla.
After that was the 'Inhumanoids' I managed to get all three of the massive Inhumanoid figures of 'Metlar', 'Tendril' and 'Decompose'.
This was followed by a 'Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors' kick, but it didn't last long.
After this I went through a huge Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles phase that would last for years and well into High School. I think my favorites from this line were 'Tricearaton' and 'Slash'.
Next were the 'Ultraman Towards the Future' Bandai line, which were available here in the U.S. and which I also still have.
As I graduated in '94 I finally discovered the legendary Bandai Godzilla and Gamera 8" inch toy line.
How about the rest of you?

Favorites: Hot Wheels and Johnny Lightning cars. I was really into model building, e.g tanks and warships, also. :)

It's a funny coincidence, but tonight on VH1 I was watching a show called "I Love Toys". That was a real trip down memory lane.

My favorites are definitely my innumerable collections of dinosaur toys. As I child of four, I had about 50 different T. rex toys of various sizes and degree of expensiveness. Heh, I know that's probably not a very big number... but it's big enough when you stage an all-out free-for-all between them. I probably wrecked 15 of them within a three year period. *sigh* The few that remained intact are now "enshrined" in a glass case.
I'm also a bit ashamed to say I was addicted to Power Rangers toys for a while... hehe... lol.
Peace,

I had Power Rangers toys for a while also, although I was more interested in the transforming megazords than the actual action figures.
Of course, then I got into Beast Wars. Oh, such great toys. I just love transformers toys so much. I got most of the characters, although I never got what I wanted: all of them :D
Then there's dinosaurs. I got a whole lot of those. The vehicles, most of the people (along with the baby dinosaurus that came wth them), Velociraptors, all the big T-Rex toys (most notable of which is the Lost World one that could actually eat people, which happened quite a lot), and of course, a variety of other dinosaurs. I had enough stuff to stage my own "movies" in which my favorite characters were always the ones to survive at the end (and I did this quite a lot).
And as one of my earliest toy obsessions (outdating Power Rangers I'd say) was Ninja Turtles. Not only was I a big fan of them, but my brother was too at the same time. So imagine all the toys a kid would get in all the years of liking Ninja Turtles, and double it. Then add in all the huge things as presents given to both of us. We had tons of the figures, the Turtle Sewer Base, the Technodrome, the Turtles Car, the Turtles Helicopter, and the Turtles Blimp. Lotsa toys there.
Finally, the legos. I can even remember when I started getting into these. I got a Spyrius walker and my brother got a Unitron ship. We traded. Then we went to collect all of the products for those (I got all the Unitron, he got all the Spyrius, but we got the monorail base a joint present as it was huge). I've kept collecting legos, but remember that beginning with most enjoyment.
I still have all these toys I listed (except the Power Rangers, which I gave away). They were an important part of my childhood, and I'm very nostalgic.

I was talking with a friend today about the Hot Wheels vs Matchbox thing (I was into Hot Wheels...they had a Mach 5 car), and he reminded me of another toy car maker from my youth, Corgi. I almost cr@pped when he told me he still had the Batmobile Corgi. It's all beat up now cuz he's a Democrat, meaning he actually played with his toys instead of treating them as investments like a young Republican.

Oh yeah, and more specifically which I forgot to mention was my first kaiju toys ever: a 1985 Godzilla (who looks like his wearing red lipstick:p ) and King Kong by the same company, who, oddly enough, has a red mark no his shoulder like blood. Those two have seen a great many battles....:inlove:

I still have a fondness for my Imperial Godzilla figure (which, I believe, is what Gojira2000 is talking about). Even though it's not very accurate, it was the first true Godzilla figure (as opposed to a generic dinosaur figure that somebody tried to pass off as Godzilla) that I ever had, from way back when I was very little. I still have it, and it's hard to believe that the thing is really that old.
I also obtained most of my Bandai kaiju figures back when I was still of elementary school age, and still have them all, as well as my beloved Stay Puft Marshmallow Man figure (I can't remember which company it was that made The Real Ghostbusters toy line).

If I didn't have a specific monster toy, I would always substitute it with a dinosaur that was similar. Like Rodan, I substituted him with a pterodactyl, Gorosaurus, I substituted with some other dino.

Is, has, and always will be The Transformers. I use to have the complete set of all five Predacons, of course when put together combined into Predaking. Ah the good ol days.

That's a Roboraptor... or at least a really good bootleg of one. It looks almost exactly the same as one only it's got scaly patches on its face...

Yep, not a kaiju at all... just a bootlegged dinosaur toy. I've seen(and been bitten...) by a real roboraptor before, and it's "horns" were shorter and it lacked wings.

I was messing around with one of those "Robosapien V2" Toys, I must've pressed something weird, it said "We are not communicating well.". The next to come was unbeleivable, the toy lifted it's fist and gave me the finger. There were not any other people around and cameras were being fixed. So, I kicked the thing about 5 times really hard and it's head almost came off, and it's little "visor" cracked so much that the little lights in the robots head went right out of the cracks. Making the thing look even more sadistic. Someone was now walking down the aisle that had the other remote control stuff, I grabbed the Robot and put it in an awkward position on his box. I walked away, looking for the store's security, nobody was there. Then, CRASH! I looked back at the robot and it fell off the box. I snickered at it as it's head rolled into the aisle with the person in it. The person walked out of the aisle, with the robot's head in their hands. They placed it on the robot's neck and walked away as the head fell off again.

Daibouken
On the way:
GoGo Drill

The GoGo Vehicles are each sold seperately, but form other weapons and such for Daibouken. Once I get them all I'll post pictures. :p

Another day, another Revoltech. Today I'm taking a look at the movie version of the AV-98 Ingram 1 from Patlabor, or Mobile Police Patlabor. There have been several different versions of this robot design in the Revoltech series, but I think this one probably stands as the most efficient. I have a full review with pictures and more over at the usual.
