hey i found the great Yuki war at walmart today for 20 bucks it was a steal from the online prices.

According to the talk on the MZ boards, the "Walmart Exclusive" version of GREAT YOKAI WAR should be avoided. Media Blasters released the movie as a 2 disc set, but Walmart is selling a single disc version with the text "'2-disc set" on the cover replaced with "from acclaimed director Takashi Miike". Walmart is selling their 1 disc version for around the same price other retailers are selling the 2 disc version.

I would imagine Walamrt did a business deal with Media Blasters. It's nothing new; big store chains do exclusives all the time. Best Buy just released an exclusive DVD set of Universal scifi films.

I got my copy of the new DVD a few days ago and finally got around to finishing a GREAT YOKAI WAR article I had started after seeing the film last year.

Media Blasters and Horizon Entertainment also supplied some great material so the article includes details about the cast and crew, profiles for 40 different characters from the movie, a review of the new DVD, and photos and publicty art. Everything is now up on SciFi Japan, so please give it a look.
