What are the top ten greatest videogames you have ever played in your life? Any system, any genre, anything. And what made it so special to you?

I don't play many but I do have a few that I love.
In no order
Legends of Zelda: The Ocarina of Time: This was the first real game I got into. Started out with just my older sister playing and me figuring out all the puzzles and telling her where to go. Then I started playing, I loved it so much and it's still just as playable now as it ever was.
Grand Theft Auto 3: While Vice City and San Andreas has better weapons, vehicles, what have you, I always enjoyed the streets of Liberty aswell as the gangs over the other two. I always wanted Rockstar to go back and add the features from SA to 3 and it would be a perfect game. I guess that's what we got with Liberty City Stories but I haven't played it yet.
Shadow of the Colossus: Magnificent, beautiful, incredible. There are a plethora of words that come to mind and none that really explain in full what I truly feel about the game. This was a game that I anticipated for a long time but never got around to getting it until a couple months ago. The next three days I was engrossed into this story and character as I tried to thwart these incredible giants. The graphics are beautiful, it's the closest a game has every gotten to being a piece of art. This is a damn near perfect game and now I think I might pick up and play Ico one day.
Mark of Kri: Not a widely popular game, (I haven't picked up the sequal yet) but this is one of the most inventive fantasy games I have every played simply because of the fighting style. You used the joystick to highlight players and a button letter would hang over their heads and you simply hit the button and you hit them, simple and fun and you could fight a crap load of people at once. The game has a very cartoonish look yet it has great gore as you play Rau, a Conan-like barbarian trying to save your village from a phantom threat. The graphics are great and when you get your axe it is great fun hacking people to pieces. There was also stealth options and bows, in all, it was a great conglomeration of fighting mixed into one game that gives Snake a run for his money. My only complaint was that it was too short, it felt as if it was a uncompleted game.
Galaga: Either in arcade or Nintendo, this game is addicting anyway you play it. I never thought one could derive such pleasure and frustration by shooting at sychronized flying robot-aliens that drop bombs at you.
GoldenEye: The game that started a revolution, the game that has yet to be topped as the best Bond game ever, the game where you pissed off your friends for picking Oddjob in multiplayer as you shoot out their knees with your Cougar Magnum. Yes, I love this game, it brought out the double crossing jackass in me, not to mention, it's plenty fun just playing the story game aswell.
Mario Kart 64: This is the Mensik family fun game. I was Yoshi, my sister was Peach, my mom was Wario and my dad was DK. The hours we spend driving through all the courses, my sister and I gracefully gliding through the speedway in hot pursuit of eachother while our parents bashed the crap out of anyone that got in the way. Oh, and I hate toad.
Sonic the Hedgehog: Ah yes, the juiced up, colbalt hedgehog and his two tailed fox friend. Oh how I loved racing through the tracks in hot pursuit of Robotnic for reasons I still don't understand other than liberating little plush animal babies. Who knows, who cares? The tracks were dizzying and the game play was pretty simple and fun.
Duck Hunt: A classic, hunting for those who don't want to sit out by the lake and are guaranteed atleast one kill (especially if you get really close to the screen). I just wished I had the version where you could shot that damned dog.
2K series: Either playing basketball or football, you are guaranteed a high quality game whenever you purchase any of these sports games. I even put NFL 2K over the Madden series.

Grand Theft Auto 3: While Vice City and San Andreas has better weapons, vehicles, what have you, I always enjoyed the streets of liberty aswell as the gangs over the other two.
I'll post my top ten after I've put some thought into it, but GTA3 is definitely on there.
I bet that was a lot of fun. :)

Huh... all-time top ten?
Well, in the order that they spring to mind-
Mario Brothers- Dear god, I STILL can't beat this game.
Galaga- Barely 8-bit delight. Nothing like mindlessly moving alien bugs.
Dawn of War- While a gross oversimplification of the beauty that is Warhammer 40K, this remains my favorite strategy game to date. None of this "gather resources" crap. You take strategic points to increase your requistion allotment and build power plants to run your war machines. YOur troops miss[/]i sometimes. Their morale cracks under artillery fire.
That, and Orks rule.
Knights of the Old Republic- KOTOR 2 may be technically superior, but I've got a sentimental attachment to the first one.
Grand Theft Auto 3- Best feel of all the GTA games (San Andreas wasn't bad, but lost its distinctive "'hood" feel too soon). Also, the first time I got to cut lose with a mingun in the middle of a street.
Oregon Trail- Yeah, yeah, laugh it up. But tell me [i]you didn't name your group after your friends, and then howl with laughter as they died of typhus...
Mariokart 64- Drunk, sober, alone, in copmany- this game rules.
Dynasty Warriors 3- 4 is a better game. 3 has more replay value. You can tell which one wins with me.
Master of Orion 2- God, the hours I've wasted on this game...
Diablo- Before the Barbarian. Before the Necromancer. Before the Amazon. Before soceted items, before auras, before parties, there was going inot a dungeon alone with a shield, a club, and two healing potions. 'Nuff said.

Dammit, I knew I forgot one! I never got around to beating it, or getting very far, but I loved the game

Lets see what I can come up with...
10. Toe Jam and Earl: Panic on Funkatron- OMG... this game was seriously whacked out. This was one of the first Sega Genesis games I owned and it was a fun game with some very likable characters.
9. Metroid Fusion- This game was FUN. It had some difficult points like that obnoxious spider... but it was a very intriguing game, now only if I can find it I can finish it!
8. Kingdom Hearts- Wow... Square really did out do themselves with this game. At first I wasn't sure if the Disney and Square mix would actually work, boy was I wrong. This is now one of the best game series out there.
7. Super Mario 64- This is probably the best mario game of all time IMO. The platform action was good, it was fun, and it is challeging at times. I always have a good time playing this game when I do.
6. Animal Crossing- This is hands down the best game on the Game Cube. Nothing even comes close. It is just so... addicting...
5. Final Fantasy 8- Wow... I really love this game. The story was so deep that it keeps you involved through the hole game. And for a PS1 game the graphics are very well done. I always love summoning Bahamut to own the bad guys when I play.
4. Soul Calibur 3- Personally this beats out SC2. It has more characters and the story elements fit a lot better. Besides Zasalamel is just awesome. Not to mention I like Nightmare's new moves list.
3. Lego Star Wars- Lol... This game is funny. Really it is! This is probably the best Star Wars game to ever come out, and if the Prequel Trilogy was made like this it would have been better!
2. Kingdom Hearts 2: Everything I said about KH1 applies here except this game seriously blew the previous one away in all feilds. The story comes together very well in this game. It is probably the best RPG that has come out since.....
1. Final Fantasy 10- ...This one. Wow. I don't know how anyone can hate this game. I really can't. Final Fantasy X, which is considered by the fans the second best Final Fantasy game behind FF7. The story, the characters, the graphics, and anything else you can think of just puts this game in front of all the other games I have ever played IMO.
Well that is my list which is of course subject to change.

1 - Unreal Tournament (PC) My personal favorite FPS ever, and that includes Halo. I played this game obsessively for about a year. I had it tricked out with mods, skins, voicepacks (I even made one for Willow from BtVS). I tried UT2004, but I never got the feeling I had while playing the original.
2 - Final Fantasy 3 (or 6 in Japan; Super Nintendo) Best RPG I've ever played bar none, and IMHO the best of the FF series. It's kind of amazing to me to think how much more emotion a sprite could make me feel than a polygon. Maybe it's because I had to use more of my imagination.
3 - Street Fighter 2 (Super Nintendo) While I feel that Street Fighter Alpha 3 is the epitome of the SF series, there's only one first time. This was a very challenging game on single player and a real hoot to play with a friend.
4 - Grand Theft Auto 3 (PS2) Ah, freedom! I loved the ability to just drive around and explore while listening to the awesome soundtrack and the satirical commercials. Lazlow rules. GTA:SA is without a doubt the better game, but this one is my favorite.
5 - Shenmue 2 (Xbox) This game caught me totally by surprise and really wormed its way into my heart and mind. It's so deep and immersive. It's like GTA3 on a somewhat smaller scale, but that allows it to be far more detailed than GTA3 could ever hope to be. The sequel fixed every issue I had with the original for Dreamcast, improving and expanding the game the way all sequels should.
6 - Scramble (Arcade) For a few months when I was young, I was the absolute Scramble master of my neighborhood. I was the first person to get to the fifth difficulty level, and then of course the arcade got rid of the game.
7 - Resident Evil (PS1) The remake for the GC had way better everything, and given the choice I'd definitely play that version. But at the same time it lacked the impact of being new. The original RE scared the bejebus out of me like no other game.
8 - Dead Or Alive Xtreme Beach Volleyball (Xbox) I will never deny that one of the main draws of the DOA series is T&A. Because it is. However, T&A only goes so far with me and then I get bored. A game has to have something more to keep my interest. As I was playing DOAX, I found myself thinking about aspects of videogame design, interfaces and AI, I'd never thought of before. The relationship system was so subtle, it really made me ponder the possible factors that effected it. I still never figured it out. But I think one of the challenges DOAX posed to standard videogame assumptions is you're not supposed to.
9 - Metal Gear Solid (PS1) Again, the Gamecube remake had way better everything and is probably the preferred version to play. But there's something to be said for the first time you play a game. You have no expectations and it's all a surprise.
10 - Wonderboy In Monsterland (SMS) My memory of this game is inextricably linked to a particular place and time I remember with a certain fondness. So, even if in hindsight it really wasn't that good a game, it still ranks for personal reasons.
A few honorable mentions: Ninja Gaiden (Xbox), KOTOR, Kingdom Hearts, Shadow of the Colossus, F-Zero.

God, I know I'm really gonna go old school here-
Godzilla, Monster of Monsters (NES)- Somewhat cheesy by today's standards, but still my favorite kaiju-related game (my mind might change if I ever get to play the Turbo Duo Godzilla game), and by 8 bit standards Toho really pulled the punches for it. Compared to the effort they put into this, most other Godzilla games seem really half-assed. And I remember way back in the day when the words "Nintendo Entertainment System" mean't something, that I was the only kid in town that could beat this game.
Dragon Spirit: The New Legend (NES)- A bird's eye view shooter game, set in a fantasy world where you get to play a dragon. Really cool, and the music for level three is one of my all time favorite video game themes.
Megaman 2- The Megaman series as a whole is something of a guilty pleasure of mine. The second game I rate very highly mostly because it was the one with the best music (especially for the first two stages of Dr. Wily's castle).
Megaman 4- The first Megaman game I ever got, and the one that got me into the series. Still enjoyable to play, and is second only to the game 2 in music. Too bad the ending sucks to the point of almost not being worth the effort to reach it.
Megaman 3- Could've been the best one in the series, especially with my favorite robot master, Snakeman, but the fact that the most of the music is annoying to listen to forces me to give it a much lower grade than the above two.
Dungeons and Dragons: Tower of Doom (Arcade)- I remember every summer at the local University's Art Camp that my parents forced me to attend, it was almost a daily ritual to go to the recreation center at play this game at the arcade there at lunchtime. This was also one of the things that first got me into D&D.
Joe & Mac/Caveman Ninja (both the SNES and Arcade versions)- Best "cavemans fighting dinosaurs" game ever. That the women you rescued were rather hot for cartoonish video game chicks was an added bonus. Too bad the SNES version cut out my favorite level, which features you riding a brontosaurus through a river.
Primal Rage (Arcade)- Best. Fighting. Game. Ever.
Super Godzilla (SNES)- Love it both for the Ifukube music as well as the battle between Super Godzilla and Bagan.
Area 51 (Arcade)- Awsome.

In no particular order:
Super Mario Brothers - The SNES classic. Me and my older brother would play this in turns for hours on end. I have the Gameboy Advance version now, but the GBA and the game itself are somewhere in the dark, cockroach infested recesses of my closet.
Mario Cart '64 - I used to play this all day whenever my cousins would come over. I memorized every single race track, even that damn Yoshi one (which, in my lack of playing for a long time, I have gotten lost in again). I always played as Yoshi too. Ah memories...
Super Smash Brothers - Oh my god, this game is still addictive. Whenever we have Halo parties, occasionally somebody will pull out an N'64 and this game, and the Halo party will kind of die away as we all wait for our turn to play it. Lot of awesome things about this game still.
Halo 1 & Halo 2 - The two main reasons I got an X-Box. I have beaten both of these games god only knows how many times, and I still play them obsessively. And I'm not the kind of person who just plays it on easy or regular and assumes thats the extent of fun the game gives you. Once you've mastered Legendary, you get addicted to it... That, and the multiplayer on both games spawn Halo parties that take up four or more televisions that go well with cussing each other out, beer and chips, and generally having a smashin' time.
Civilization 3 - My brother introduced me to this game for the PC. Its a thinking game, thats for sure, though I do find it fun to just take over the world as Germany by using Panzers... I've grown more fond of Conquests now (Civ4 has yet to appeal to me... since my computer refuses to support it), but Civ3 just has that eerie feel to it when it starts that gets me every time I put it in.
Grand Theft Auto 3 - While I've been playing San Andreas a lot lately, this is the first game that I ever stayed up literally all night playing. Its just that awesome.
Primal Prey - My brother broke the CD for this game a long time ago, but its basically a dinosaur hunting game. I remember it very well because its the first game that ever really scared me. When all you have is a pea shooter and there are TWO T-Rex's and a pack of Utahraptors coming at you from all sides, you get scared. ;)
Need for Speed: Most Wanted - I love this game simply because it combines, to some extent, GTA (outrunning the cops), and Grand Turismo (racing awesome cars). My favorite car to customize is the Mustang because 1) its fast, and 2) it is the best car for shoving cops out of your way.
Predator: Concrete Jungle - This game kicks some serious ***. There is just nothing quite like ripping out people's skulls and skinning them alive. Though the people with guns and ability to shoot you no matter where you are gets on my nerves sometimes.
Trauma

1. Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 1 & 2
2. Poke'mon Anything
3. Oblivion: Elder Scrolls
4. PSO + PSU
5. Mario Kart any version
6. SSBM and SSB
7. Sonic the Hedgehodge.
8. GODZILLA SAVE THE EARTH
9. HALO2
10. HALO2
yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah, judge me.

Godzilla Save the Earth-Come on its got Godzilla!GODZILLA!
Mortal Kombat Armageddon-Great game with almost all the MK characters.
Banjo Kazooie-Tooie is good, but this tops it.
War of the Gems-Its a good Marvel sidescrolling game.
Mario Kart 64-Because its a good racing game.
Super Mario World-Becaus its a great platforming game.

I actually have 12 instead of 10 and they are all old school.
1. Zelda 2, the adventure of Link(NES)=Yes, I am one of those unforgivable trolls who dares to rank Zelda 2 higher than the original and here's why.
a. It was the first Zelda game I ever played, the one I played the most and the one I actually beat.
b. I liked the sprite(creature designs)far better in this game than in the first.
c. I love a good side scroller
d. Loved the music.
e. Loved the palace bosses.
f. It is a sentimental favorite.
2. The Legend of Zelda(NES)= Now where this one is superior is gameplay and overall design. Once you get powered up you can take allot of abuse and have far more weapons to choose from and the graphic design of the overhead in regards to the palaces is superb, it truly showed off what the NES console was capable of from a very early stage.
3. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles(Arcade coin-op)= This was the first arcade I ever pumped any serious money into and eventually beat. I was also going through the TMNT phase of my childhood so this arcade was the holy grail for me. I also loved the fact that the turtles actually used their weapons in this game and that the action was far more violent and hardcore compared to the at the time watered down kiddyfied cartoon. Still one of my favorites.
4. Altered Beast(Arcade coin-op version)= C'mon now. A side scroller game where you get to turn into different kinds of monsters and slaughter hordes of various other monsters and demons with huge boss monsters and stuff getting blown apart, incinerated and smashed left and right? This game has my name written all over it and still does!
5. X-MEN(Arcade coin-op)= Some of the most gorgeous graphics that I have ever seen on a side scroller, incredible on screen action in ultra-violent multitudes(especially if you're playing the double screen version with all six usable characters playing at once)and of course hey, it's the X-MEN damn it!!! Playable characters were Wolverine, Cyclops, Storm, Colossus, Nightcrawler and Dazzler.
6. Aliens(Arcade coin-op)= My favorite game adaptation of this film genre bar none, the fact that you actually get to fight the Queen in the power loader on the last stage is enough to give this game massive pwnage in my book.
7. Ultraman(exact title unknown, Super Famicom system)I can't remember its Japanese title(can't pronounce it either ), but it was set up just like the old beatem up games Double Dragon, Streets of Rage or Final Fight. As in it's a side scroller and you beat the hell out of multiple enemies on screen at once as you whittle away at their life meters. You can choose from the original Ultraman, Ultraseven and Ultraman Taro and each have their own special moves(the same way that Cody and Haggar had different fighting styles in Final Fight). You battle your way through 5 stages fighting tons of Ultramonsters from various Ultra shows like Bemular, Neronga, Dada, Pegila, Tattkong, Ragon, Gesura, Gabora and more.
The bosses at the end of each stage are bigger than the other monsters and tower over you, they are(in no particular order)Redking, Baltan, King Joe, Eleking, a winged kaiju whose name escapes me and Tyrant.
All in all, a pretty fun game.
8. Spiderman(Arcade coin-op)= Another beatem up side scroller(starting to notice a pattern here? ). This one had the distinction of shifting between a Final Fight style game screen and one where you are pretty much Contra sized with similar game play. It was the larger more detailed screens that I went for however as you get to throw down with all of Spidey's famous villains. You could pick from Spidey, Black Cat, Hawkeye and the Submariner.
9. Contra Hard Corps(Sega Genesis)This was one of the last games that was released for the Genesis and also one that fully utilized everything that the system at the time was capable of in regards to graphics and gameplay and it is my favorite Contra game bar none. There were four different characters you could choose from each with their own special weapons and the game also had various paths you could choose to embark on different levels and also had 5 different endings depending on the choices you made! Total pwnage!
10. Godzilla, Monster of Monsters(NES)= It was one of the first NES games I ever had and I wasted hours of my life away trying to beat the damn thing, which I finally did. I thought that for the NES' capabilities that the monsters looked fantastic graphic wise. As for the gameplay itself, it got monotonous and repetitive after a while, but since it was a Godzilla game and I was young, I just couldn't put it down!
11. Wrestlemania(NES)= When I first got my NES for Christmas I also got this game with it. Being a wrestling fanatic I of course had a total conniption. Playable wrestlers were, Hulk Hogan, Macho Man Randy Savage, Andre the Giant, Bam Bam Bigelow, Ted Dibiase and the Honky Tonk Man.
12. Dynowarz(NES)= A side scroller game where you ride around in a giant golden Mechagodzilla looking mech while punching and blasting the crap out of other giant robot dinosaurs and monsters with a wide array of weapons, yeah.....I'm there.

Remember when I said my list was subject to change... Well, it changed.
10. Time Splitters Future Perfect: I forgot how good this game was for some reason. This is in my opinion one of the best FPS series. And this one the best of the group.
9. Katamri Damacy: I love the oddity of it! I have never played a game as fun or unique as this one.
8. Kingdom hearts
7. Animal Crossing
6. Soul Calibur 3
5. Final Fantasy VIII
4. Lego Star Wars
3. Kingdom Hearts 2
2. Final Fantasy XII: Wow... I LOVE this game! I can't get enough of it! The new battle system needs thought, the summons are awesome, the Hunt side quests are great, there are no emo characters (just like FFX), the story is very enthraling, the cut scenes... are great, hell, EVERYTHING is great. This will probably jump to number one the more I play it. But until then, FFX is still number one.
1. Final Fantasy X
heh... Made it where there are four Square-Enix games in my top five... Yea, I am an RPG nerd...

Both Katamari games were good, but I liked the sequel more. Great soundtrack on that one (if you're into J-pop). I liked the song on the race track level. What a crazy, crazy game.
6. Soul Calibur 3 I loved the original on the Dreamcast, but SC2 was so frustrating I stayed away from SC3. The AI didn't get more challenging, it just got cheap.

My 12 Favorite Games in no certain Order
Godzilla Save the Earth: Even though it does have its problems, its one of the better Godzilla games.
Godzilla Monster of Monsters: My absolute favorite NES game. I love the fighting, the Monsters, just about everything. I wish more of the monsters had their roars though.
Mortal Kombat Armageddon: The Newest of the MK games, its got just about every MK character, and I love MK games. Only problem is that they simply copied and pasted mostof the characters from MK: DA and MK: D
Timesplitters Future Perfect (or TS2 on the gamecube with AR codes): The best FP Shooting Game EVER! Large vareity, and tons to do.
Super Mario World: My absolute Favorite Mario platforming game. Its just awesome.
Mario Kart 64: The Racing game I had the most fun with. Its just awesome to play with 3 freinds.
Super Smash Brothers Melee: An Awesome fighting game, and AR codes make it even better.
Mortal Kombat Shaolin Monks: With AR codes, this game is my absolute favorite Ko-op Game.
Kirby Super Star: Next to Super Mario World, the best Platforming game EVER!
Mortal Kombat trilogy: combing the first MK games? Brilliant!
Super Godzilla: The first Godzila game I played, so it has a special place in my heart.
Donkey Kong Country: Like the other two, this is best platforming game IMO.

I don't think putting their roars in would have been possible with an 8-bit system. Such sounds cannot be produced with a system of that sort.

Here is my list:
Impossible creatures: One of the most greatest 3d RTS games ever made. The graphics are superb. You make your army by mixing two animals from a list of 20 animals and there is so much strategy in this game that a person can really never let ahold of it. Whats even better is that mods are quite recently being made with new animals. The best being the diplodocus.
C&C: Generals Zero hour: This is one of those games that rivals Impossible creatures for the crown of king of RTS games. Military strategies and the landscape along with thousands of possibilities gives this game a high score in my book.
Warpath Jurassic Park: Though it has no match against any other fighting game like Tekken, the fact that its a 3d primal rage makes it pretty joyfull. I brought my ps1 just to play it.
Alien vs Predator 2: Best multiplayer online game played. 3 species to choose from. This pwnz counter strike at best. All it needs are larger level maps.
Halo: One of the Kings of FPS games.
Half life 2: the second king of fps. The story sucked though.
Paraworld: It also ranks top ten in king of 3d rts games, but due to the fact thats its a pretty new game, there are bugs in it. You just gotta love the movie scenes in it with dinosaurs fighting and all. The dinosaur 3d models used in the game are highly attractive to the eyes.
Godzilla Kaiju daikessen: This Snes games makes my favourite kaiju SMG look like a fighter god.
Carnivore series: Want to hunt dinosaurs. Let this be your choice. It rocks.
Commandos 2 MOC: heh call me a british soldier, but this game has its charm. Knock out nazis.

Dino Hunter 2.0
December 3rd, 2006, 09:25 PM
In no order...
Carnivores Series, excluding Cityscape. The AI was bad and the graphics are outdated, but these were definately the best dinosaur hunting games I've ever played.
War of the Monsters. Coolest giant monster game I've ever played.
King of the Monsters 2. Great cartoon style, cool monsters, and just fun.
Shadow of the Colossus. Interesting, original, well made, and fun. I love the whole "brains over brawn" theme of this game, and the Colossi's designs are awesome.
Monster Hunter. Awesome dragon slaying game by Capcom, I was addicted to this for a LONG time. Got a lil boring once you hit HR 20, but still, sweet game. The wyverns were pretty boss, and the great swords and war hammers owned.
Vectorman(1 & 2). Vectorman is freakin' awesome. Nuff said.
Primal Rage. A fantasy game about waring dinosaur-gods, done entirely in stop motion animation? Hell yes.
Halo(1 & 2). Definately the most enjoyable multiplayer FPS games I've ever played. Although the Halo 2 shotgun is a wee bit overpowered, IMO...
Starcraft. One of the greatest RTS games ever, definately. Zerg rock!
Ratchet & Clank series. Not only are the graphics in these games beautiful, but the weapons are awesome, the gameplay is really fun, and some of the dialogue is just hilarious. Probably my favorite platformer games of all time...

Here's mine in no order.
Legend of Zelda- Ocarina of Time
Incredible. One of the best games ever and I have an attachement to it since I was introduced to it when I was tiny
Final Fantasy VII- Sweet, love it for the same reasons as orcarina. Probably the best game of all time. SUPER story, really, REALLY hard, and... SEPHIROTH!!!!!
Halo 2- So much fun in multipalyer... as my friends have declared, it brings out the crazy in you.
Primal Rage- Best arcade game ever. Also have an attachment from when I was little, so yeah. GO DIABLO!
Super Mario 64- Come on, this game it great. Fun, crazy, and again was one of the first games I ever played.
Metroid Prime- So much fun and one of the more different games I had played in a while.
Godzilla Save the Earth- Yeah, it is a really crappy game according to the critics, but I have a ton of fun.
Mario Kart 64- Another one from my childhood, this is a great racing game.
Knights of the Old Republic- This has gotta be one of the coolest RPG's ever. Great gameplay, and a really deep story if you dive into it enough (like the whole love thing between you and Bastila, all of the alternitive quests, etc)
Goldeneye 007- Best. Party. Game. EVER.

1. Final Fantasy 7 - Best game ever IMO
2. Final Fantasy Tactics - Close second
3. Disgaea: Hour of Darkness
4: Disgaea 2: Cursed Memories

10. Jedi Outcast
The Multi-Player really keeps the game alive after beating single player. Plus Desann's voice is sexy. </inside joke>
9. Super Mario World
This is just the greatest platformer in history. The unlimited 1-UPs, the Yoshis... everything.
8.KotOR 1
This is great because it has a plot that's WAY more in-depth than the horrid thing we have to call "prequels". Not to mention the character models are really varied... I mean, the party's models, not the NPCs.
7. Star Fox (SNES)
Gibberish. Insane difficulty. Polygons. What more could you want in a game?
6. Metroid Prime 2
Despite a cliched story, and some bad moves ammo-wise, the game is still great. Who doesn't like hearing an old tune remixed by that excellent composer Kenji Yamamoto?
5. GoldenEye 007
I want to get this game again. The single player, multiplayer... everything about it is awesome. Except no Sean Connery. :(
4. Metroid Prime
Beautiful graphics, unique enemies, Ridley, great music, and did I mention Ridley?
3. DESTROY ALL HUMANS!
This is classic for the sheer amount of humour inserted in. It's an absolute gem.
2. Star Fox 64
"DO A BARREL ROLL!"
1. Super Metroid
Don't argue with this. Best. 2D Metroid. Ever. Why can't all of 'em be like this?

Vectorman(1 & 2). Vectorman is freakin' awesome. Nuff said.
Hell yes! I loved to play Vectorman when I was little.

Mine, in particular order.
Metal Slug 3- BEST. RUN N GUN. EVER. The last level is almost game by itself. Awsome cartoon graphics, great story, a twist in the middle, and awsome weapons. Don't believe me? Machine guns, shotguns, drop shots, rocket launchers, camel turrents, and a monkey that follows you around with an uzi and shoots people. If that isn't cool, I don't know what is.
Street Fighter 2
Street Fighter Alpha 3
Street Fighter 3- Third Strike
Darkstalkers 3
Marvel vs Capcom
Dragon Quest 8
Guilty Gear Isuka
Megaman 3
Crash Team Racing

Jump on'em, press and hold R1 to cling to their fur (or some protrustion on their body which acts as a ledge or something) and pray that your grip meter doesn't run out, or that you're not thrown off.

Thanks. I was thinking there was an exact place I had to climb which is why it was giving me trouble.

1. Metroid Zero Mission. okay, if Galaga grew legs and became a sidescroller, somehow i can imagine it becomeing smething like this. much as i like Galaga, this game is better simply for the fact that it's very close, only more. and Ridley and Kraid are there.
2. Galaga. past Zero Mission, nothing beats it. i can play this for hours. hours and hours of pure alien bug blasting fun. and i've gotten to level 17.
3. Sonic Adventure. I know it wasn't as popular as the second one, and that the Adventure games overall haven't been as loved as the sidescrollers, but there was something i just loved about it. maybe it reminds me of the hopeful start of the Dreamcast, or just the fact that Chaos is an incredibly awesome monster character. maybe it was Crush40's debut. either way, plant Sonic on Windy Valley, or Final Egg, and I'm a happy player.
4. Yoshi's Island. I truly am amazed at how much that little lizard can do. fly, ground pound, eat his opponents, throw eggs, breathe fire, spit watermelon seeds... the list goes on and on, and so does the fun.
5. Super Smash Brothers Melee. I was at the mall waiting on my sister to pick out a new dress for three hours. without my local EBX and Melee, i would not be here alive today. for that i will be eternally grateful.
6. Sonic 3. or at least i think this is the one. it had Sonic and Tails, and a dozen awesome levels.
7. Dig Dug. another classic. just hours of pure nothingness, but fun through the whole thing.
8. Metroid Fusion. love the new suit, and the X parasite. the creepy atmosphere is believable and terrifying (at least at 4 in the morning and youre running for your life from a clone with glowing green eyes and no pupils.) i so wish the version i bought hadn't been broken.
9. Billy Hatcher and the Giant Egg. much as i didn't understand the gameplay, it was SEGA going to town on a strange dea and making it work. again.
10. Marvel vs. Capcom. the ability to switch between Gambit and then to Morrigan is just truly awesome. but i still hate that shaman guy who stretches to much. i never can beat him.
some honorable mentions (mostly being games i haven't played) I'd say Guitar Hero (the first, for its superior list of classics), NiGHTS (for being the greatest game that i'll never be able to play), Darkstalkers (classic monster movies get turned into a fighter game. and Q-Bee is hot.), Metroid Prime (actually i have played, and beat all except Metroid Prime itself, and loed every inute of it), Phantasy Star Online (pretty cool, from what I've seen, and it had a NiGHTS mini game).

6. Street Fighter Alpha 3
7. Godzilla: DAMM
8. Super Smash Bros. Melee

Well, let's see:
1. Grand Theft Auto: Vice City - Almost the exact replica of what I had in my mind that the second greatest game of all time would be. The greatest, well, the closest thing would probably be Battalion Wars, but I have yet to play it to see.
2. Dynasty Warriors 3 - Amazing game. Closest thing I have played to what I see as the best game that could possibly be made, but far away enough that it can't be my favorite game. Their needs to be random bombardments and stuff, it didn't have enough extra warfare going on, but it really does make you feel like you are smack in the middle of one huge battle and is super-fun to play, so it gets put here.
3. Way of the Samurai 2 - Samurais, enough said. This is *the* samurai simulation game. Way of the Samurai probably has better overall gameplay mechanics, but this game has more diverse swords, more swords, more diverse moves for the swords, more people walking around to interact with and attack, and instant kill moves, which I love. It's a really open, do what you want game, and being able to play as a ronin samurai, weilding the best, most elegant weapon ever, the katana, is amazing.
4. Mortal Kombat Trilogy - Best Mortal Kombat game ever. Armageddon could have replaced this one as my favorite if only they hadn't removed character specific fatalities. :( Oh well, this was the best 2D MK, and was better than all of the 3D ones as well, and MK is the best fighting game there is, so that makes this the best fighting game ever. :P
5. Metal Gear Solid - An amazing stealth/action game. And one of the best stories of any video game ever. Perfect music, perfect controls, awesome weapons, great bosses. Just an all-around awesome game.
6. Psi-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy - Finally, someone does a good psychic powers game. Free Radical's psychic game Second Sight that come out just after this sucked horribly and aside from that there are very few in the way of this. The powers were all implemented amazingly well and the telekinesis (my favorite power) was wonderful to use. Yay for lift people 100 ft into the air and dropping them to their deaths, and smashing them over and over into walls. It would've been high on the chart if you had more control, like making people's heads explode with telekinesis, making their bodies explode, targeting individual bones and breaking each one slowly, ripping them into pieces, and crushing them into balls, but still, it is the best psychic power game ever, and extraordinarily fun. A real over-looked title from Midway that should've been better recieved than it was.
7. Syphon Filter - One of the best stories in an action game, full of twists and turns, backstabs and suspense. The gameplay was great, the weapons amazing, all around a killer title. Too bad 3 and 4 did no justice to it.
8. Goldeneye 007 - The best first person shooter ever, bar none. I have yet to play a game that is anywhere near as fun as multiplayer in this one was. Timesplitters: Future Perfect was a close second, but is still not up to the brilliance that Goldeneye on the 64 was.
9. Godzilla: Save the Earth - Finally, I get a Godzilla game that I can play and it is almost everything that I hoped for. Cities could've been bigger, monster selection could've been better, but other than that it was a great brawler with the greatest cast ever, Godzilla kaiju!
10. Punky Skunk - Horrible game. Absolutely horrible. But, the only one where I get to play as a skunk, and that is enough to put it up in my top ten favorites. :P
