Just going on record once again. I have nothing to do with this T-shirt
or it's sale. Neither Toho or myself were asked for permission to create it.
Other than this, all I ask is that you please not encourage this illegal activity by buying this T-shirt.

Well I hope you notified both eBay and Toho about this. You also might want to contact eBay to get the sellers real name and information and have a lawyer contact him/her since they are using your work illegaly.

Yes to both in your first suggestion. Toho will do a lot more than eBay ever could (as they did the last time this occured), but yes, eBay will also be contacted.

I looked up G t-shirts on e-bay, and the ones I saw I am 99% sure they were all illegal. But people buy them, so they will keep comming.

You've missed the point entirely. I still don't want Toho blaming ME for the illegal actions of these morons stealing and selling my fan-art images.

Let them try selling their OWN Toho-based kaiju-art!

Just a question...I assume you had to get permission from Toho to do your artwork? Did they charge you?

Nope. They can only "charge" me if I am actually making money from selling my fan-art with Toho's kaiju characters, which I don't and have never done. This is sometimes loosely referred to as the legal-term "fair usage" (as it was expalined to me by Bob Eggleton some years ago). However, if Toho or TriStar ever do send me a "cease & desist" letter, that will be tne end of all things Toho here (their lawyers can certainly "beat-up" any I might hire). Toho knows who I am and what I've been doing all along and that scenario hasn't happened yet, but stunts like this eBay t-shirt thing could change everything for all of us fans.......and that is my ONLY concern and my only "dog in this fight". I could care less about any other aspects of this incident.

I really hope they don't screw this up for us.

What can I say, Todd?

Your stuff is just damn good. ;)

But yeah, this is a major problem. Maybe you should inform Toho that there are people using your work and selling it without your consent?

LOL! Good one, dude...I needed that. (N'yuk, N'yuck:0D)

Actually, I did e-mail the Los Angeles Toho Studios branch-office
& "dropped the dime" on this guy. As long as I have records (e-mail and internet)
claiming no connection to this kind of stuff and there is no evidence Toho can find to the contrary (of which none exists), I'll be ok.

Gee, do you think that maybe Toho might actually like having a fairly-popular
fan-based website that actually promotes their "intellectual properties" for 0-Yen? Do you think this may be the reason they've left us alone for the past few years ? (just curious;0P)

BTW: did you know that this very same Los Angeles Toho Studios branch-office opened on the very same day a certain Kaiju-artist popped into this world for the first time (7/23/53)?
Scary, huh?!

So, have they busted that person yet?

Todd, something you might want to think of is "watermarking" your stuff that you post online from now on. Granted you might feel like this takes away from your work but it also makes it more difficult for people to do things like this with your work.

Hi, Cyndi.
I've enjoyed reading your posts elsewhere at Kaijuphile,
and I think this is your first post here at AK, so welcome.

To answer your question, I don't know , and even if so I doubt Toho would
tell me. I think they use "Ninja-technology" on guys like this, and they are
(ahem, ahem)..... not heard from again!;0)

Right you are, Pal!
I'll take that into consideration for sure.

It would be dissapointing, but you gotta do what you gotta do.
