It began with e=mc˛.
Particles smashing and splitting
one after the other,
a chain reaction.
Then you burned your own race,
scarring the earth
with human outlines.
You kill over skin color,
warring to gain more
from those who already have little.
And one day you came to me.
I was not going to hurt you,
but you hurt me.
You invaded my territory
with your loud guns,
spilled your blood
all over the dust of my ancestors.
When I tried to defend my land,
you shot me down.
As I lay there, bleeding,
my vision fading...
you abandoned me.
YOU LEFT ME!
Then the Flash happened.
Brilliant light like a dozen suns
smashing down upon me.
The Gray Snow covered my wounds
while I laid there, breathing,
waiting in terror to be swallowed alive.
When the pain finally stopped
and I saw my reflection in the water,
I no longer knew myself.
My ancestors will never know me,
I am a freak!
Then I found you have built boxes
on the dirt where I grew up.
You have the nerve to attack me,
try to kill me and drive me out,
chasing me from my own home.
All because I am not like you.
I was here first.
I lived on these lands before your
DNA even formed.
Then you grew so arrogant,
so overly superior.
You split the atom.
YOU MADE ME LIKE THIS!
...I did not ask for this Change.
I just want to live, like you.
But you will never learn.
Just look at your own history...
Wars, Holocausts and bloodshed
over foolish, petty things.
And you call ME a monster?
Look at yourselves and ask this question:
Who is the real monster?
