The BEST music videogame ever made! I got ahold of the second game and I can't put it down! Really addicting, and awesome. I think it goes down in my history as one of my favorite games EVER!

It's the Psychobilly Freakout! My friend was overly suprised that he beat that on expert. He didn't want to play it ever again, but I force him to in co-op every once in a while. Also, I was kind of pissed that the ending song was Freebird. I know I'm probably get flamed for this, but I HATE southern rock, and most of all, I HATE Freebird.

Is it a bad thing that the main reason I got Guitar Hero 2 was to play YYZ in co-op? :p

Dude. Everyone loves Freebird.

Goths love Freebird.

Emo's love Freebird.

Metal heads love Freebird.

Deadheads love Freebird.

It's like the Song.

For those of you who own an Xbox 360, Guitar Hero II will be coming to that system in (!tenatative date!) March 2007.

The game will feature 10 new songs in addition to the 64 already on the game. My Chemical Romance, Alice Cooper, Iron Maiden, Pearl Jam, Deep Purple, and others will be added. Also downloadable content (read: more songs) will be available right from the launch.

Also, the guitar controller itself will stray from its normal Gibson SG shape. The Xbox version will have a white Gibson Xplorer shape. It also has a plug on it that is mysteriously similar to the plug used to connect pedals to the Xbox racing wheel (can anyone say "wah-wah"?).

Needless to say I am very excited to add this game to my library. :)

I wonder how long it will be before the makers of Guitar Hero sell out and venture into the Country genre like Karaoke Revolution did...

They already have a Chet Atkins Country Gentleman Guitar. Good enough for me.

I wonder how long it will be before the makers of Guitar Hero sell out and venture into the Country genre like Karaoke Revolution did... For gods sake! They better not freakin' do that! I know they are making an 80's edition expansion, and the 3rd game will be out later this fall.

Agreed.

Anyways, why not make Guitar Hero for Country music? Guitars aren't used exclusively for Rock you know, I (as a major country music fan) would like to see a game based on my favorite genre. Of course, it wouldn't be nearly pulse-pounding as a Rock-centric game, but it still could be fun for those who like the genre.

Anyways, a Wii version of Guitar Hero 3 is planned, as well as the 360 and PS3. As usual, a special guitar controller is being crafted for the Wii, but what's notable is that the developers do plan to use the system's motion sensivity for gameplay, but no details have been revealed. Any thoughts on that?

I just started playing this when my room mate got it for his 360. Awesome game, and very addicting.

Johnny Cash would be good, any other country would suck hardcore, espescially any songs made by artists after 1990. I wouldn't mind if they made a country spin-off like their Guitar Hero: 80's Edition, or now called Guitar Hero: Encore, for a game with nothing but country songs, but I wouldn't be able to stand country songs, (not counting Johnny Cash) in a normal Guitar Hero. Psychobilly Freakout was a horrible enough song, and that was only a hint of deep south mixed in with metal. I definitely would not be able to play the game if country songs were mixed in, at least not be able to enjoy it. Though, I will say anything would've been better than "Institutionalized." That is the worst song ever made, if you can even call it a song, more like "rythmic, non-melodic noise to the emo, cry-baby rantings of some punk that is incapable of singing."

But I digress, GHII was great. I really need to pick up the first one and get the third when it comes out. As well as 80's edition. I just need to wait till it's on the PS3, since the PS2 controller isn't compatible with the PS32 from what I hear.
