King Kong vs. Frankenstein

Hey, guys. I've heard a lot about Willis O'Briens' proposed but never made King Kong vs. Frankenstein, and I was just wondering if there was any extant concept art or sketches to indicate what the Frankenstein Monster in that movie would have looked like? Thanks.

I don't know if any concept artwork exists, but from what I know, the monster Kong was to fight was suppose to be made from the body parts of various dead African animals stitched together. The monster made, of course, by one of Dr. Frankenstein's modern day descendants.

Was supposedly going to be a direct sequel to the first King Kong, in color even, which was one of O'Brien's greatest dreams... to see Kong brought to life in color. But sadly, nobody (as in producers) seemed to wanna make it.

This, of course, eventually led to the creation of King Kong vs. Godzilla.

Is kind of a shame though, would've been fun to have seen the classic O'Brien Kong slugging it out one more time.

Am I the only one disappointed with what Kong's opponent would've looked like in the flick. I had something looking a wee bit crazier looking considering the Ginko was made from parts of various jungle beasts. Instead its a wierd looking humanoid. I pictured something closer to the version used in Mr. Werner's Godzila Vs. Frankenstien fan-fic.

Well I think it was meant to be closer to the original Frankenstein's Monster, but who knows what would've happened, and what changes would've been made had this movie gotten the greenlight.

I read somewhere (sorry, I don't recall where) that this idea may have inspired the design of Toho Frank's opponent Baragon (crocodile body, elephant ears, and rhino horn).

But in any case I like the design, and I definetly would've liked to have seen this come to fruition.
