I asked my dad about seeing Godzilla X Mothra X MechaGodzilla, and he says that if I prayed we maybe we could see it at the thetere(He's a Godzilla fan)! But is it coming out in american theteres? When is it going to come out? What happens? What's the plot? Who wins??!? This you proubly won't know but I NEEEEEEDDD TO KNOW!!!!!! I want Godzilla to win. And I also heard about another Godzilla movie that I want to know about. I was talking with my freind on the phone one day(He's also a Godzilla fan), and he says that there going to be coming out with a Godzilla vs. King Kong 2 in 2006! Is this true?! If it is, i hope Godzilla wins. http://www.rodansroost.com/ikonboard/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Godzilla vs. King Kong II sounds more like an unlikely possibility to me. I don't believe it's been confirmed anywhere.. Besides Toho doesn't want to pay the high price for Kong's character.. which is why the KKvG remake wasn't made in the 90s.

<font color='#0000FF'>Coming in US theaters? Sorry, didn't happen with the last three films, so it isn't likely. And as khandejifer said, it would coast way to much money to get kong. And the dead body of Kameba is the 4 monster. The Japanese version of Godzilla 54 is coming out in 2004. And it is likely that GMM ends in a tie.

Scheduled for release on December 14, 2005 is Peter Jackson's KING KONG but no Godzilla in this one. Could your friend have been thinking about that one?

No news on this film. He may be confused (as Raptor said) about the release date for the new King Kong film coming out in 2005. Plus, the chances of Toho having gotten the rights to King Kong is about 2/2 Million.

For God's sake, why remake or create a brand new Godzilla feature with him fighting King Kong? The japanese version was amazing itself, and doesn't need to be remade. King Kong tai Gojira was one of those one-time success movies, and it needs to stay that way.

Mothra is cool as $%&amp;#, and she doesn't have to win to keep that title. Although I'll tell you she doesn't exactly win, and at the same time she does, know that she pretty much steals the spotlight in the film from what I hear.

I got to agree with PyrasTerran. Mothra is cool as hell. But MechaGodzilla kills the Adult Mothra in SOS so hope your happy, but Godzilla destroys MechaGodzilla and 2 Mothra larva's do the same thing that happend at the end of Godzilla vs. Mothra 64. At least that is what I heard.

Hello fellow G-Fans! I'm new here and I'm starting my posting off with a rather silly question to anyone who has seen the film already, so if you haven't, you may not wish to read on.

Question: Do you think the movie would have been any better for any reason if Yo####o whom was tarped inside Kiryu stayed there and died in the end, rather then living?

PS I know I may have spelled some things worng, but I don't have much time on here.

I think the &quot;saiyonara Yo-shi-to&quot; goes rather well, but when I first read the review for the film, I thought it (what's his name? Akeko, or something?) whom was poilting Kiryu wrote the message and it gave a since of &quot;your doomed, Yo-shi-to&quot;. I therefore thought it would be better if he stayed there and died. Now that I know Kiryu sends the message, well, it doesn't have the same impact as the other way, but now it makes sence why Yo-shi-to in turn says &quot;Saiyonara, Kiryu&quot;.

AFM is not a film festival but an "indistry only" event; the whole purpose is to screen movies for potential worldwide distributors. AFM is only open to people in the film business, invited guests, or those willing to pay to pay big bucks for a memebership.

I wouldn't doubt Sony releasing GMMG either later this year or sometime early next year on DVD. They're bringing at least three out this year. Plus Sony really has been the only company to bring the newer Godzilla movies to the U.S. So they would have to be making a good lump sum off of them or else they wouldn't have released the previous the two or so movies.

Regarding Yoshi-to: I can't say if the movie would have been better or worse had he died at the end. It really depends on how it was handled. I can see some variations on his death making the film better, and some making it much, much worse.

Regardless, if the "Sayonara Yoshi-to" weren't in there (revealing how much Kiryu has evolved from a simple mechanized Godzilla '54), I think the movie would have definitely suffered.

Which movie is better? GXMG or GMMG IN:

1. Special effects

Tokyo S.O.S.'s effects put GxMG's to shame.

2. Acting

The acting is as good as GxMG, but the actor's have a little less to work with.

3. Story

Not only better then GxMG, but actually succeeds in making GxMG's story better as well.

4. Music

I loved GxMG's score, but Tokyo S.O.S. has the shobijin, so it wins :).

5. Kaiju realism

Once again, Tokyo S.O.S. trumps it's prequel, if only because it presents the most realistic Mothra ever seen.

6. As a movie over all?

I think that Tokyo S.O.S. is a slightly better movie. I like the characters from GxMG better, but Tokyo S.O.S. is the better overall film, in my opinion.

DrunkenYoshimaster
August 2nd, 2004, 12:37 AM
I've seen the movie 3 times so far (only once subtitled and in theatres though) and I loved it. In fact I'd rank it in the top 25% of Godzilla movies of all time, which gives me an idea for my next thread.
Having Yo*****o die in the end really wouldn't have made the film better to me.

*spoiler warning*

I mean are you suggesting that he just go underwater with kiryu and eventually die down there? either on or off screen? While I think the Sayonara Yo*****o part was a bit much, it didn't really affect my enjoyment of the movie. While it was probably the most far fetched concept, the idea presented in GxMG that Akane had a bond with Kiryu that was continued in GMMG showed Kiryu was sentient, and thus after being rebuilt by humanity, though regaining his memories, with a computer in his mind, G54 gained such a quality. And I suspect theyre saying that through the AI programming Kiryu learned how to communicate with humans at least a little, though he had never really done so until now.

*end spoiler warning*

A little far fetched, but as long as it was just one breif instance that can be explained away logically it really doesnt hinder my enjoyment of the film.

Yo*****o dying in GMMG wouldn't have even had the impact as when Tachibana died in GMK. Serizawa's death in the original truly had meaning. He sacrificed his life with a concious effort of what he was doing, knowing that having done what he was about to do, he could no longer continue to live the way he was living before, but instead in constant fear for himself and the ones he loved. But Yo*****o was young and with his whole life ahead of him. His dying would just sadden the audience and be like a tragedy without a whole lot of reason behind it. Feeling sort of forced.

*spoiler warning*

I mean if machinery can care for one creature, than why not another that it realizes is present. Just the "Sayonara" bit was overdone.
I think mothra's sacrifice in this film was enough. And was probably done better than they ever could have done Yo*****o's. Though personally I don't see why the Shobijin who helped him by using telekenesis before wouldnt rescue him from the falling kiryu if he actually was going to die. I mean at least they could have opened the door too.

*end spoiler warning*

Do you guys think sony will release this one on DVD too? I hope so, because then I won't have to pay shipping or anything, I can just go to media play or something and buy it.

Here's a quote from Mike Schlesinger:
"I believe the deal's been finalized [for Tokyo SOS], but if there's a release date, it's not known to me. Perhaps in that press release this Monday..."
