For the past several years Tsuburaya Productions Co., Ltd. of Japan (creators and owners of Ultraman) has been in a legal battle with the Thai company Chaiyo Productions and its chairman Sompote Saengduenchai, who has claimed exclusive worldwide rights to all Ultraman characters and trademarks outside of Japan.

In recent months, the Intellectual Property and International Trade court has made some major rulings in Tsuburaya’s favor. SciFi Japan now has a look at the history of the Ultraman dispute, plus details on the recent court decisions.

Hmm... Is this type of legal wrangling simular to what plagues the Macross Property? I'm refering to the SDFM/SDFM:DYRL legalise and not Disharmony Mold for you Robowrech fans...
