Discuss my homestate here. Feel free to take the obligatory dumps on the political system and its leaders. Yes, Louisianans hate Blank-O and Eddie Ed too.

Well, can't really discuss LA without discussing Crawfish, crooked politics or the worst roads in the nation.
Of course Kaiser, you should know about bad roads. Comming in to Lake Charles has to be the worst stretch of I 10 I have ever been down.
I come from down the road in Lafayette, originally from a little town in Evangeline Parish known as Ville Platte.

One of the best placenames in the country is down there IMO: Owl Hollow. And where else would you find a bar/roadhouse called the Purple Onion?

I saw an antique shop in Sunset, LA today called "Bayou Sum Stuff".

We've never had good roads here as long as I was alive (18 years.) And our politics ain't any crookeder than anyone else's. We're just more open about the crookedness.

Possibly even proud of it, or at least we have a sense of humor about it. For those that don't know, a board game was made in Louisiana called "Politrics". It is all about LA's history of crooked politics. I have never played it, but my brother owns it.
Don't forget we also have LSU. "Looks around for Tiger haters."
I can't help but be proud that we're the BCS National Champs.

Yup. I'm even more glad that USC isn't.
