What really got to me was Kunz saying he'd feel "guilty" if he "ratted out" his client. Let me get this straight- his client was a remorsless murderer, and the freedom of an innocent man was at stake in this situation, and he would feel a greater sense of guilt in choosing the innocent man's freedom? And people wonder why I think we should execute all the lawyers.

Disgusting, revolting...

I'm not sure what to say.

Mom wonders why I want to go into video game design instead of being a lawyer...

THIS IS WHY!

Lawyer-client privledge is one of the most sacred bonds in our society and it certainly isn't an easy thing to break. It's not tasteful, but a lawyer's only responsibility is only to his client's well being under all circumstances. This might be horrible and disgusting, but it's a basic rule of ethics for those who are lawyers. I don't say I approve of what happened, but the guy doesn't deserve to be shot. If it were me, I don't know what I would do, however decision that was made is not damning for a man whose profession is to keep an objective mind and allow me to quote the story, while...
"Lawyer-client privilege is not complete; most states allow attorneys to reveal confidences to prevent a death, serious bodily harm or criminal fraud. But this case didn't offer that kind of exception."

No choice in the matter, so go ahead and scorn the lawyers, but they had little choice in the matter.

You obviously missed that part where the lawyer said his true reasoning for not stepping forward was because he would feel "guilty" about turning his murderous thug client in. Going by that quote, it would seem that lawyer-client privledge had nothing to do with this man's rationale. The dirtbag simply felt more sympathy for the thug than he did for the innocent man who was going to jail for the thug's crimes. There is nothing forgivable about that.

Lawyer-client horseshit is more like it, just like everything about our legal system. Not just on the defense side, either. You have prosecutors who have some sick 'win-win, rah team' mentality instead of trying to find the truth and examine all evidence without bias, you have judges that would rather follow precedent instead of justice (nevermind their own, often disgusting, attempts to circumvent even precedent in favour of personal activism), and you have juries that are packs of moronic mush who can't understand the difference between law and 'feeling good' - hence why so many frivolous lawsuits end in the plantiff's favour because, after all, McDonalds can afford to pay the stupid vegetable that burned herself because - newsflash- coffee is hot.

When the legal profession became an industry in this country, it was time to send in the SpecOps guys for some massive wetwork. Lawyers are the most disgusting vermin on the face of the planet, and believe me they have alot of competition for that title. The entire legal system in this country needs to be scrapped, replaced with tribunals and the rule of common sense and justice over precedent and law.

What do you call twelve lawyers in a shallow grave?

A good start.

Hey now... we NEED lawyers!

Nothing else screams and bleeds quite right during target practice.

Actually, there are a lot of Chimps hanging around.

You just can't tell them apart from the other morons who throw their crap everywhere.
