The following Japanese gallery is dedicated to the obscure but never forgotten (an infamously so) PachiMon trading card series from the 1970s. These are 100% real ladies and gentlemen, and even more shocking, there are toys based on some of the mix-match photo-made characters that still go on to this day.
You'll see what I mean when you view the contents within, but to give you an idea of what's to come...they gave Baltan (the insectoid alien foe from "Ultraman") a oversized skull for a head and re-named him Galtan:
