So I was at the Eldritch Dark website, which is a listing of all the short stories and whatnot that Clark Ashton Smith wrote, and after reading The Immeasurable Horror (my personal favorite), I came across The Seven Geases. And it got me to thinking.

The Hyperborean Cycle of CAS would fit right in with the New Era mythology. And Robert E Howard's Hyborian age too.

I was wondering, what sort of prehistory did the New Era earth have. Did the Voormi worship Tsathoggua underneath Mount Voormitadreth? Did Kull drive the serpent men from Atlantis? Did Xaltotun try to rearrange the continents to his own whims at the Hour of the Dragon?

Does any of this fit?

Well, Clint has confirmed that the Serpent People exist in the New Era. He has some sort of big plans for them, but he always avoids telling me the details. And his redo for the monster D'Compose makes a reference to Hyborian kingdom of Stygia.
