I'd have to say the cheesiest is Gamera vs. Viras [aka Destroy All Planets] for many reasons.
http://www.kaijuphile.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/virassmilie.gif vs. http://www.kaijuphile.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/gamerasmilie.gif
1. Viras looks funny
2. The space ship looks like its made out of giant Easter eggs
3. The part were Viras chops of the crews's heads. He just waves his tentacle and they fly off!

The majority of Daiei's Showa films are cheesey since they didn't have the budgets to make the films better than some of the Godzilla films.
I know Gappa isn't a Daiei property, but his film had some cheesey moments and it actually was a better film than most of Daiei's films.

<font color='#000F22'>The cheesiest (and most enjoyable) showa film in my opinion is Attack of the Monsters (Gamera vs. Gurion). Other than that they're all pretty cheesy, the least cheesy being the first three.

Gamera VS Guiron:
* Kept pronouncing names different ways.
* Old Sci-Fi cheese factor-o-meter rating: 10/10
* Terran suits looked terrible.
* The boys tried to make accurate, scientific observances and convinced themselves that they were doing a good job of it.
* Kando (or whatever his name was)...Kando...Kando!!
* They weren't that suspicious of the Terrans.
* The boys were idiotic enough to try to fly the dang spaceship.
* The second Terran survived the spaceship crash.
* Our main, non-kaiju characters are BOTH Kennies.
* Guiron would've made an awesome kaiju. But shuriken?!
* "We should have more trust in our children."
* Too much "Boys...spaceship...gone!" and "More lies."
* Olympics.

Gamera vs. Zigra and Gamera vs Guiron, the suits made for the Gamera movie look like a plastic action figure.

How are either of those movies "cheesey?" Both are excellent films. I dont see any reason to call either of them cheesey. http://www.kaijuphile.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif

All the Damajin films were atmospherically great. They always had a creepy, dark setting which always gave me the spooks. Those films were quite serious and are definitely not cheesy. These are pure classics.

Not sure if the 1966 film Terror Beneath The Sea is a Daiei film, but THIS movie was a BIG hunk of cheese....it was also a film with a very young Sonny Chiba before he began putting on muscle, and it is also the film I get my s\n from with regard to the first part of it. Has anyone else seen this movie? I swear to God they mugged the monster costumes from Ultraman for this one.. http://www.kaijuphile.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/laugh.gif

<font color='#000080'>I'd say the cheesiest movie was the original Gamera the Invincible movie. I...just, ugh. I couldn't stand the movie.
Anyone ever notice in Gamera vs. Guiron how they had a Guiron hand puppet for a scene or two?

<font color='#000F22'>Yeah, I've seen it, it's actually a Toei film. I'd love to get my hands on the original Japanese version as I hear it's a lot more violent (the US version was already one of the most violent tokusatsu films I've ever seen). You don't see people getting arrows shot through their bodies in these kind of films very often. The monster suits are quite silly looking, yes, but the film's pretty atmospheric at times and the surgery scenes are frigging incredible! It's not very often you see fairly graphic surgery scenes in these kind of films either.
If you liked Terror Beneath the Sea, you will LOVE Goke, Body Snacther from Hell, another one of Hajime Sato's movies and one of the most grim and scary Japanese sci-fi movies ever (but not without some cheesy special effects as well).

As far as cheesiest Gamera film, for some reason I'm leaning towards Gamera vs. Guiron, but I don't really know why http://www.kaijuphile.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/hmmm.gif

i would say gamera vs viras i mean it was sometimes great to see the stock footage of gamea fighting barugon and gyaos so i could catch up(sorta) but when gamera was wrecking the city sometimes it showed footage from gamera the invincible in black in white.also how viras looked and the funny transformation scene when viras got bigger,and finally the whey how viras decapited the martians just with a wave of his arm(tentacle) not even touching

The black and white fotage is easy. Thats how Gammera: The invinceble was filmed. In B+W. So they couldn't show it in color. As for the rest of the stock fotage, just trying to take up time. When the kids or some one could have justed mentioned it like they do in the latter film Gamera vs. Gullion.

besides the henshi gamera movies, I have only seen zigra and gurion. I thought they were okay. Is any of the other gamera movies worth getting?
P.S. I like monster movies that have a lot of monster action as long as it is not all stock footage. If it has very little monster action(as in like 1 or 2 five minate monster parts) and just people talking I will most likely not like it that much.

Gamera vs. Gyoas and Gamera vs. Barugon are the only real old Gamera movies worth anyone's time. The other ones are fun, but only for hardcore fans.
