This match is NOT as cut and dry as would appear. They're fighting in a cave, which might leave room to move around but it is still very confined. We know that DG sucks at aiming, and the he also has a tendency to forget what he is doing in combat. I'm not saying that DG loses, but there IS a chance Kumonga can win.

Poison in still enough to get a victory. DG likes getting up close to his foes - we saw this against Mothra - and he likes playing with his food.

Remember, Kumonga played dead in order to lure Godzilla up close. This spider is smart. He hides in places to surprise his meals, and because he is smart he has a chance.

A cave makes this easier on Death Ghidorah. That means when DG starts shotting off beams every which direction, he has more chances to hit. Kumonga is dead as hell. This IS really cut and dry Hybrid. ;)

It killed Kammy.

Which isn't saying much normally since he is made of paper.

But it is poison.

Which works on anything without specific immunity.

Godzilla also had regeneration which no doubt countered it... But that's besides the point. DG is gonna' roast him.

As dearly as I'd like him to win, I am forced to concede that Kumonga doesn't have much of a chance here. Death Ghidorah's lack of accuracy doesn't matter much in the confined space of a cave. Once he starts shooting, the place will turn into an oven. DG will prefer it that way, but Kumonga will wind up being charbroiled. And even if he can take the heat, the poor bug will just suffocate when the fire uses up the cave's oxygen supply. Or he'll simply be incinerated if DG happens to remember what he's supposed to be shooting at. Or he'll be trampled to death. Or any of the myriad other ways one can die while trapped in a cave with a lava-spewing dragon.

Winner: Death Ghidorah. Damn it all...

Kumonga resisted Goji's beam pretty well considering the amount of times he got blasted in the face by it and it wasn't until Minya managed to fire what looked like and equally powerful blast that they were able to defeat him. I think Kumonga has the durability and the web support to get close enough DG and give him a sting.

I also love how everyone assumes that the Stinger is an instant win because it killed a KAMACURAS. Come on people.

The stinger just stunned Showa Godzilla for a short while. Don't think it's going to take Death Ghidorah down. And of course webbing is useless because DG has been webbed before and pulsed out of it.

Kumonga is going down. Hard.

I rewatched the Kumonga fight.

And.

I concede he loses. I always thought Kums shot webbing into Godzilla's eye, but it was the stinger.

And he is a lot slower than I remembered.

Arg. I hate this match so much. Kumonga is one of the most underrated kaiju ever. He deserves to at least go to Round 2. But nooooooooooo, he's gotta get put up against freaking Desghidorah right off the bat.

is there really any argument here?? yes kumonga can hide yes kumonga is smart and yes kumonga has poison. but i dont see him getting the chance to use it against DG here. if DG doesnt roast him he will either step on him to death and make him a pulpy flesh mound or his three heads will greab him and tear him apart.
