It's Japan's premiere superhero dynasty versus the most famous Great Old One himself, Cthulhu. The whole gang's here, Ultraman, Ultraseven, Ace, Taro, Leo, Tiga, Dyna, Gaia, Mebius, Next, Max, Scott, Chuck, Beth, Zoffy, Father of Ultra, Mother of Ultra, Ultraman King, etc. etc.

Will this assorted group of powerful heroes be enough to take down ol' Squidface?? Or will Cthulhu barely be inconvenienced?

Battleground: Tokyo

I'm just curious. XD

Hmm not familiar with Lovecraft's work but wasn't Gatanozoa from Ultraman Tiga based on one of his creations.

They get their bodies ripped apart as soon as they try to punch something thats beyond three-dimensions...

Or Cthulhu erases them with but a mere thought, or best case scenario reduces their minds to quivering jelly, if that can be considered a best case scenario.

Yeah. Unless you're Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann...

>.> well the Ultras aren't exactly what you'd call HUMAN, and possess powers and sciences beyond our capability... yeah their human alter egos would be ****ed, (if they're even apart of this fight) but the Ultras would probably be able to keep their sanity.

*shrugs* I'm not really that well-versed in all things Ultra. Was just curious about this match-up.

I feel like you can't really use Cthulhu in fights like these because Lovecraft never specified exactly what he could do. Basically all we get in Call of Cthulhu is "big enormous monster that could totally kill you, not to mention everyone ever"

Which is ominous, but not really conducive to this sort of matchup.

...having said that I don't see how the Ultras could possibly harm Cthulhu. So they would probably die in a huge pile of sentai limbs.

I agree with Crucifer. Bringing Cthulhu to these fights is highly problematic because about 99% of what we "know" about Cthulhu is implied rather than described. We know that his true power is suppose to be beyond human comprehension.....and that's about it.

Ive actually addressed this before in a fight thread between Galactus and Cthulhu. What we normally get is people like BSQ saying that Cthulhu can curbstomp just about anybody. When you think about it though, it doesnt hold up. Going by what everyone agrees is the main continuity, Cthulhu hasnt demonstrated anything like the powers that are always ascribed to him. And whats more, consider that the people always describing Cthulhu in these stories are very, very buttoned down people from the 1920's. What would be invincible and unstoppable to them wouldnt necessarily be the same to something like Galactus, or in this case, a group of gigantic aliens whose job it is to kick the shinola out of things in a lot of ways like Cthulhu.

I think that while Cthulu and his ilk are fun to include in fights like this, ultimately it always ends the same way; nothing about Cthulhu can be proven simply because he doesnt really ever DO anything.

maybe next time I'll bring in Clint's take on ol' Sqidface from his "Godzilla vs. Cthulhu" story? :P

Hell, if you used Clint's version of Cthulhu, none of the Ultra family would stand a chance:D

As with Cthulhu, we know next to nothing about Dagon, in either the Lovecraftverse or Clint's universe. All we really know about Dagon is that he's a more gigantic version of a Deep One, but that's it. What powers he may wield is completely unknown.
