<font color='#728FCE'>Yes! I was afraid this movie might be plagued with doing only beam attacks but from what I read from henshin Godzilla will use Judo-based attacks! Judo isn't a bad form of fighting it'll be more realistic than say a tail-sliding kick. Also at the end of that section of the article it mentioned the sinlge blow thing which means he'll probably finish some of his opponents with physical strength! Now that's showing he's a true monster!
Director Kitamura commented excitedly about the new Godzilla suit; "There will be movement that has never been seen before. Its movement is quick, but retains the sense of mass and strength. The hands, feet and tail -- their movement is absolutely smooth. I really want to see him make fast, single blows [in this film]."
I was thinking too that Monster X might be only strong from beam power and then that doesn't really prove his might at all just because he has a powerful energy attack.I want to see him have physical strength like maybe lifting Goji up and throwing him or something.Of course it'd have to be realistic looking but still something that displays raw power and proves he's really his most powerful foe and not just someone who has an Ub3r-pwn4g3 b34mz0z! -I hate leet http://www.kaijuphile.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/hmmm.gif
What exactly is Judo.
There not talking about the kaiju doing karate moves are they.

<font color='#728FCE'>No judo is a throw based form of martial arts so they won't be jumping around and doing ridiculous moves it'll be more lifelike

<font color='#000080'>Judo and Kaiju are actually a very good mix, if done properly. Judo is like Jiu Jitsu, focusing on the opponents CG(Center of Gravity) in order to throw them around without causing too much harm. In Godzilla's case it'd basically be using his arms to beat/throw his opponents. Basically more of a melee fighter than beam, beam, beam, stomp, beam.

<font color='#FF0000'>And hopefully this HtH combat won't be like GxM where he does body slams. That was not very believable.
But to see Godzilla do real Judo moves would be great to see. This movie is sounding better and better.:D

Knowing Kitamura, I bet we'll see some very bloody, gory stuff. Especially with that Gigan re-design. I think people will be shocked when they see the gore in this movie...

Like to see Gigan slice off opponent's limbs and make a little tower out of them....

Such a serene image... http://www.kaijuphile.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/darklord.gif May Minya be his first such victim! Seriously though, the new Gigan looks perfect for some wholesome(/wholesale) Kaiju butcherin'. Of which I hope we see alot. It'd be a nice and suprising change, that's for sure...
This could be very cool. Finally, we see Goji make a long-belated return to the good ol' Showa days of fast-paced and fun hand-to-hand combat, rather than the flashy beam wars of Heisei and mediocre tooth-and-claw (sprinkled with a bit of uber-beaminess) of Shinsei.

That would be cool to see. It would indeed be nice if Godzilla would not just use beam attacks all the time, and instead return to his Showa roots of savaging an opponent senseless with his claws. Hopefully, the battle scenes in this movie will be especially bloody, though knowing the director, they probably will.
Peace,

blood in a g movie? never lol. you mean we might actually get to see a limb chopped off only about 40 years after the gamera series did it? ok fine ghidorahs head was one time...thats about it. still...tooth and claw does sound good...im just getting a little nervous. change is good. but too much of a good thing is...

<font color='#810541'>Blood in a Godzilla movie? Well, Godzilla vs MechaGodzilla 1974 was a Good movie. I won't mind the blood, maybe, I'm not sure.

Godzilla vs MechaGodzilla is a great example of how brutal a G-flick can be, that sure as hell wasn't strawberry jam coming out of Anguirus' mouth!

And what about Godzilla vs Gigan? Gigan was making use of that saw belly.
BTW: It is good they will be into melee in this film, because it is supposed to be inrooted with Showa era.

<font color='#810541'>Something tells me that this hand to hand combat is going to be awesome. Even before the use of Judo was revealed, you can get the idea that it's not all going to be beam battling just from the kaiju list. Kamacuras, Gigan, Ebirah, King Seesar, Anguirus, Manda, Kumonga, none of them have beam weapons unless you count Gigan's eye lazer, which he never used in the movies. They're made for melee. This will be great, because if it was just another beam-beam-beam-tailswipe-beam-stomp movie, the fights would be dull, but considering each kaiju's potential as melee fighters, things will be looking pretty bloody...

It is an awesome idea. The fights should be ten times better this way. They might just pull this off if they would only do it the right way. Either it'll look cool or bad.

Yes! Classic Showa Godzilla returns with his 60s and 70s style fighting moves! Godzilla will kick, punch, bite, swing his tail, slash, and jump just like the classic Godzilla. Goodbye Heisei and Millenium series... make way for GFW! Things just can't get any better than this!
AND PEOPLE, I think you guys are taking it a little too literally when they say Godzilla will use Judo attacks. I've seen confused comments like "Godzilla is going to use karate kicks?" and "Godzilla is going to use kung fu martial arts?" http://www.kaijuphile.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/laugh.gif http://www.kaijuphile.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/laugh.gif http://www.kaijuphile.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/laugh.gif http://www.kaijuphile.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/laugh.gif http://www.kaijuphile.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/laugh.gif

And to add to GvsMG and GvsGigan, G vs. DEstoroyah had a fair amount of gore in it.
1.) All the blood spurting out when the Des Aggregate shoved it's secondary jaw into G Jr.'s chest.
2.) The Beam Katana slice.
3.) All the chunks being blown out of Des (particualrly towards the end of the movie), all the blood he was constantly sputtering with and fountaining from his mouth, and the small Des Aggregate who was melted down with the flamethrowers.
