Someone please tell me I'm not the only person here who has not lost a good amount of friends to this epidemic. When I first heard about it, it didn't seem to interest me much, as I'm not big on games like that, especially when they take as much time as Tibia does. But that didn't mean that I was going to keep my friends from playing it. Now, I wish I had done everything in my power to do so.

I have lost most (as in more than half) of my friends, both online and in the real world, to the Tibia menace. Ever since they were introduced to it, they have done nothing but spend most of their spare time playing it, and when they're not playing it they're talking about it. They've transformed from people with unique, individual personalities to a mindless collective of Tibia drones whose job is to spread their kind by assimilating all those around them. It makes me want to expel massive amounts of partially digested consumables from the orifice beneath my nose.

Do any of my fellow Roosters feel the same way about the plague known as Tibia? If so, feel free to join SATOHAT--Sick And Tired Of Hearing About Tibia. It's not an organization or club, just a bunch of people who are, well, sick and tired of hearing about Tibia.

<font color='#0000FF'>good one...I looked it up, looks interesting, I don't think that Tibia is to blame, You probably just have lame friends that are agorophobic or somehting.

Your plight reminds me of the early days of ever quest, when that was all my brother talked about. ever, he lived in nathor man, I mean it.

....Which brings up a curious posisibility touched on before but only in fiction. and that is:
As games advance to contain entire worlds like this, and the graphics improve so that even those with little imagination can play, do we run the risk of replacing reality with a better one?

Fret not Gawdziller, rest assured youre friends will abandon this fad, for a better more immersive one, that maybe you can enjoy too.

remember, there's no such thing as bad press.

I'm sure it'll blow over sometime, but the question is when? This thing's been going strong for about three months. But it seems the epidemic is not as widespread as I thought. But still, it makes me genuinely upset that people I have known and thought to be my friends for a long time, years in some cases, would abandon their entire life to devote themselves to something they appear to follow like a religion. I've said it before and I'll say it again: it makes me want to expel massive amounts of partially digested consumables from the orifice beneath my nose.

Don't you just love it when teenagers allow their minds to be numbed into a state that forces them to shut out the outside world out of obsession for a lame, uncompletable game?

<font color='#0000FF'>Teenagers have been numbing their minds into states that force them to shut out the outside world out of obssession, for 2000 years.
the more things change my friend.
True enough it is creepy to observe, and it's good to see you care about their well being. but consider the outside world often makes one want to expel massive amounts of partially digested consumables from the orifice beneath the nose, And Drugs, excesive partying, comic books, movies, and now video games have been the boon of escapist teenagers, and adults for a long time.
Rest assured, however, no matter how good a game gets, they all get boreing after a while.
And considering that 'tibia's servers are constantly down from flooding players you will see, I expect an exodus from Tibia, to the new thing.
