Baldur's Gate 2:Shadows of Amn

Has anybody played this game because I really need help.

I haven't played through the entire thing, but I might be able to help.

Okay cool, now I am in the beginning of the game where the mage has you in his dungeon and you have escape it. I got the rogue and the ranger to join my party and I was doing pretty good going through the dungeon and killing all the creatures. But you know where the library is I took the path that leads me to this door that needs a statue or figurine to open it, now I don't know where this statue or figurine is and if I keep going I run out of ground and its all black. So the only thing I can do is face a demon that is trapped in this machine and then I have nothing to do, so could you tell me where the statue or Figurine is?

You'll find the statue in Irenicus's room. I believe it's near the place where you found those dryads that Irenicus has captured. It may be in the bedroom/living room place before this one. I really don't remember, but it's one of those places. If it's not on the room you're on, it's probably in the basement area (where you find Yoshimo).

However, the door leads to a short side quest, so it's not required. You'll get some good stuff (depending on whether or not you imported or just started a new game).

Okay a couple of questions who is Yoshimo and Irenicus and Where are the dryads located?

Yoshimo is a Bounty Hunter you find in the basement who joins your party. Irenicus is the mage who imprisoned you.

It's been a while since I've played this part, so I'm not sure of the dryads' exact location. I do know, however, that they are on the same floor as the door you're trying to get into. They're in kind of a forest-esque area, and at the southern end of the area is a bedroom. Be careful, though. An alarm will sound as you enter the room and you'll be forced to fight a couple of golems who track you down.
