Contra and Super C are two of the most fun and exciting games I've played for the Nintendo Entertainment System. They definately make my favourite list. Lots of alien-bustin' action and military blastin'. So, what's everyone else's opinions, or am I too out-dated for y'all? http://www.rodansroost.com/ikonboard/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif

<font color='#0000FF'>Au contraire, Mon Frère, I do declare! Fans of Contra are indeed rare.
mostly because super C is so insanely difficult.
But I remember fondly playing Contra, at the local arcade, for 10$ in quaters, and finishing it with some guy I had never met.
When I noticed that the title had been released for the NES I jumped on it, I also bought Depeche Mode's Violator album on the same day, my brother and I sat down, Put on Violator, and "up up down down left right left right"ed our way to alien liberation.
Saddly I received none of the joy I got from contra, from Super C, or the later sequals of other systems.
I frequently go back and play Contra, on both Nes, and on MAME for the arcade experience.
Amazingly it is really quite acurate.

<font color='#0000FF'>Oops I hit, post instead of preview, I meant to say that the NES contra was an acurate port of the arcade title.
It feels virtually the same playing either title.
Lord K, I meant to sugest, what with all your Retro gaming posts, and the popularity of Solid gameplay titles of the past.
Someone should start a Retro Gaming thread, or a NES, thread.
but not me, not right now, it's beddy bye time.... perhaps I'll put Depeche Mode's Violator on to re-live the old Conta days.
(Strangely enough I listened to Violator alot whilst playing Blaster Master as well, go figure it would be your other post.)

My friend and I had lots of fun with Contra. Few years later, I came across Super C for 10 bucks at Kay-Bees (Also got Kirby's Adventure another time there for quite cheap). Super C was fun, but insanely difficult. I'm not even sure that I've beaten the game yet.

Anyone ever play Contra Force. There was a section on it a Nintendo Power magazine I used to own. The game looked alright, but didn't seem to be much like Contra and Super C.

<font color='#008080'>OMG! I remember the good ol days of Contra. It has to have the best graphics on the NES. It was just incredible. I loved how everything was set up, and I think it was way before it's time. I think it inspired some games, like Metal Slug. It was incredible. Me wants to have a new Contra GAME NOW!!http://www.rodansroost.com/ikonboard/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
