What you think ' Final Wars' will live up to our expectations?

There are so many great Godzilla films out there, and very much doubt Final Wars shall live up to many of them like some already belive it will with out even a trailer exsisting yet. So what do you think its going to live up to?

Gojira? Mothra vs. Godzilla? Ghidorah? Monster Zero? vs. Mechagodzilla? G 85, Biollante, GXM, GMK, the Kiryu Saga? I my self don't see standing to strong right now, but I think it will be better than Spacegodzilla (no offense Showa-goji).

Hopefully better then SpaceGodzilla and Megalon. Its hard to say right now. Theres a lot of good things but I want to see the suits and maybe a trailer to be sure. So many subplots.

You know it's not saying much when you say it will be better that Spacegodzilla and Megalon since those are the two Godzilla movies that hardly anybody even takes seriously anymore.

First off, it really goes by personal opinion. While many of us agree that the original Godzilla is definitely a Top 5 for best Godzilla film, some may think otherwise. Obviously you're going to have some who hate it, and some who love it. It really comes down to your own personal preferences.
Myself, I have high hopes for it. It sounds very promising in my opinion so I really am not going to feel glum about it. Even if it doesn't live up to my expectations, I still will enjoy the film because it is a Godzilla film.

But as far as I see it, I believe it's going to be great, but maybe not the best. I see it as being nearly as good as Godzilla vs. Destroyah and Godzilla vs. King Kong, or a bit under, but not better. Those two are my all time favorite Goji films, so you can see where I'm coming from on this.

I'de like it to be that good as well, but Toho took over 2 years to work on Biollante. Final Wars, bairly a year. Writing started in Dec. Comes out nov. I think Mechavaran is right, this should go in the GFW thread.

What will Godzilla Final Wars live up to... How will it live up to my expectations? Me...? Well, personally I have been trying to avoid all possible spoilers at any cost. By any means... I plan to be surprised when the film comes across the seas to local theatres in 2005. I don't want to go in and know everything before hand, that would just plain suck IMO. Having said that, there is a bit that I do know about Godzilla: Final Wars. The Xians from Monster Zero of the Showa Era have returned as well as various Showa Kaiju (even Atragon has returned). From the few facts I do know, the film seems to have lots of references/homage to the Showa Era. I've also seen the picture of Godzilla. Thumbs up to that! Monster X is suppose to be a mummified monster that awakens for the final battle at the end of the film (accidentily, I discovered that Monter X will transform into the behemoth, King Ghidorah! And he's got Four Legs! Awesome!) Already from the tiny bits and pieces I know, this film sounds spectacular. Like it might turn out to be (one of) the best films ever through my eyes (IMO). I really think I am going to enjoy this. Afterall, everybody raved on about how much the 3 part finale of the original Transformers cartoon, The Rebirth sucked badly, etc. I watched it, and it's become my favourite episode of that show. Anyways, thats besides the point. I'm just trying to say this is Godzilla, and even if Final Wars turns out as dreadful as Godzilla Vs. Megalon (which I enjoyed BTW) I still love it... I could care less about how fancy the special effects are, etc! So I don't have much expectations for Final Wars, I just know I am going to like it whether it has GMK quality, or Megalon quality.

A friend of mine whose a kaijufan (and forum guest at this site) tells me how much you guys complain, whine and ***** in the Final Wars. Oh dear God... I don't even know where to begin with... Maybe with... Get a life... From what I am told you guys FIGHT and FIGHT and FIGHT over nonesense and bull **** 24/7. Makes me wish I didn't mind being spoiled so I could go in there and see things for myself. But from the sounds of things, it sounds ridiculous... I don't know if any flame wars have happened in there, but I hear about constant arguing and bickering... And I've seen before on the board, so I know it's there.

And I remember when I was still reading about Final Wars (although it was called "The Godzilla" then) people already were shootin' their mouths off! "Ow, ow! I hope this film uses American CGI! Ow ow! It better have amazing CGI, oh Weta better do it or some big time company! Oh yeah, if it looks real enough the general populace may even like Godzilla!" Okay. Like who cares if the special effects in the film are like any other G-flick of the Alternate Reality/Millenium series? Honestly? I sure as Hell don't care. It can be like G2000 or GMK, or GxMG or worse. As long as the overall film itself... like the story is unique, and the characters are likeable, who gives a rat's *** about "special effects?" And lastly, who cares if Final Wars becomes a major hit in North America...? Some of my favorite movies are looked down upon by movie critics and general populace. You think I care? Not really. As long as the 50th Anniversary film provides entertainment and enjoyment for it's fan base, the rest of the world shouldn't matter.

Oh, by the way... Did I forget to mention how awesome those fake pictures were? Awesome! They were so well done, so perfectly photoshop. I would like to congratulate who ever made them, because they sure fooled me. Hedorah was just amazing!!! ;) Just one question. Why did you make them? Is it because you have no life...? Or was it just something for fun and then you decided to get a good laugh by proving how much of a none-existent life the members here have? Just wondering. I've heard about all the fuss and comotion they made, and it sounds ridiculous...

I saw G54 when I was up in Chicago. Ebert panned it. Do I care, or the folks that were at the theater to see the movie? Nope. He should have got his self over to MONSTER ZERO (Astro Monster) and TOKYO: SOS and seen what REAL kaiju film fans like. I don't believe I have ever seen a bigger crowd at a G film than SOS. We know what WE like and no talking head in a suit and tie is going to tell us otherwise. GET A REAL JOB, FILM "CRITICS"!

Except for probably Jurassic Park, I don't think I've been this excited to see a movie in my entire life. Godzilla's looking great, Gigan looks absolutely awesome, plus Ghidorah is shaping up to become the monster he was always meant to be. So far I haven't heard a single thing thats made me think I'll be dissappointed in this movie. I saw Versus, and its a pretty fun movie, so I'm expecting GFW to be just as good if not better. Plus Kitamura seems to be truly honored to have even been asked to do this film. I'm pretty sure its in capable hands. The only thing I think can really make-or-break this movie is the music score. Hope its better than Oshima's stuff anyway. This movie is gonna rock. I just can't wait.

I'm not going to pass my answer on the initial question untill I've actually seen the movie. Then I'll be able to tell what it'll live up to. But I'm being hopeful about it. ^.^ Especially since it sounds like Destroy All Monsters version 2, so how could it go wrong. XD
