Okay, just got done watching both Gamera: Attack of Legion, and Gamera: Revenge of Irys and I have to ask, does the Heisei Gamera even have internal organs? In Legion, Gamera had several laser tenticles (for lack of a better word), shoot several times into him, and through his arms and chest. The mana beam somehow came out of Gamera's chest and during battle, Irys put a huge gapping hole in Gamera's chest. One must wonder why there is no muscle damage or how Gamera is even still alive when it becomes obvious that there's no way that his internal organs would still be functional with all the damage they took. As far as I know, Gamera doesn't have a huge healing factor to keep him from dying, so what's the deal? With Gamera's abilty to fly by throwing flames from his arms, legs, and head stalks, his ablitiy to morph flesh (changing his arms into wings and back), the ablity to survive damage that would have killed any other living creature, as well as shoot a huge mana beam from his chest, is it such a leap of faith that Gamera may be nothing more then a bio-mechanical creature created by a civilaztion far more advanced then any on Earth?

I like to say Gamera is a cyborg as you're suggesting with your closing words. There's no such way that a living creature could just walk through all that damage and not just stumble about and drop dead. It could be that or the only reason he lives his because Earth lives. Gamera may as well be immortal as long as there are sufficient amounts of Mana in the planet.

Gamera is NOT mechanical by any means, he is fully organic both Showa and Heisei versions. And yes he does have internal organs, I have drawings of his internal workings in some of my books. I just wish they would stop putting them right over the spine of the book so you can't get a good scan of the pictures or I would post them.

I'm not saying that he is a robot, more like a living bio weapon created specificly for the protection of the Earth. While he may have internal organs, how do you explain the amount of internal damage Gamera took in two movies, to those internal organs, yet still be able to live if those organs were required. Punch a hole through any living being, the internal damage done is almost irrepairable. However, Gamera can have lasers shoot through him, holes punch through him, can morph his flesh when needed, and spits energy from head, arm and leg stalks and still live.
Guess I didn't word it correctly. Not a bio-mechancial creature per sey, but a vessel of some sort, maybe a vessel for Earth's own power, like the Mana. Perhaps a living being evolved to the point of not requiring the use of his internal organs, to simply be a vessel of for the energies of the Earth and use it for it's protection.

something the directors and producers probably hoped n oone would notice. Unless, they wanted to do that and say gamera can live with even that much damage or soemthing.

Even Showa took an extreme amount of damage and lived. In the Virus fight he was stabbed thru the stomach quite deep and lived. In GvsMX that parasite drained the blood (possibly internal organs) of Gamera's head and armed and his heart stopped beating. And he lived hours latter after they got his heart going again and the parasite out.
