http://www.rodansroost.com/ikonboard/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/birthday.gif *Feb. 6 is the one-year anniversary of establishing my kaiju DVD review site, Digital Monster Island (www.digitalmonsterisland.com). *http://www.rodansroost.com/ikonboard/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/birthday.gif *It's grown to include over 75 in-depth DVD reviews. *I'm very proud of the site, and how popular it's become.

Thank you to everyone who has visited DMI. *I'll be doing some re-designing in the coming weeks. *If there's anything you can think of to make the site better, now is a great time to post any suggestions.

BTW, thanks to Jen for making the cool kaiju b-day cake!

congrats Zillamon!!!  Your site is the first and sometimes only one i go to for my kaiju DVD reviews.  I visit DMI at least a few times a week just to check for updates alone.  Excellent site . . . one of my very favorites!!  http://www.rodansroost.com/ikonboard/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Easy. Review the two versions of G2k you have on DVD. Since you love the film, I would love to read your reviews. Put on GINO too, because I would love a in-depth review against it, Yonggary too.

As for the site in general, well, I always thought it would be good to involve some anime, NOT just any, but ones that deal with fantasy and sci-fi, possibly monster-related too.

A great site that's celebrating its one-year anniversary deserves a  http://www.rodansroost.com/ikonboard/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/birthday.gif . Also, I believe its webmaster deserves a pat on a back for not only creating an awesome site, but being a cool webmaster to boot.

Phillip,

Your site is bloody amazing, dude. I just hope some more reviews of the great Ray Harryhausen will be forthcoming, or perhaps, 'Gorgo,' or 'Reptilicus.' Classic American ones. Overall, your site is amazing, and not to mention, I get kind of jealous that you own the R2's for the Showa Gamera trilogy, and not to mention all the other flicks you got.

Jeez, I need a good job, not a bloody paperroute.

Actually, I have three versions of G2K:  US, HK, and Korean.  I'll get around to them eventually.  Yonggary / Reptilian might be upcoming; I may review it alongside the Alpha Video version of the original.

As for anime: *I do cover anime when it ties into live-action tokusatsu. *I have reviews of ADV's Super Atragon and the HK versions of Android Kikaider. *(I still need to get the US versions of Kikaider.) *I've been thinking about getting the Gigantor sets as well, because the show is so fondly remembered by many kaiju fans. *I have Ultraman II, so that will be reviewed eventually. *Jen may even review Hamtaro!

I do realize the Harryhausen and Western Kaiju sections need more material. *It's just that there is so much Godzilla and Gamera coming out now, and keeping up with that is my priority. *(Reviews covering the two big G's are far more popular than anything else, even other LA toku like Ultraman.) *I do have quite a few Harryhausen and other western kaiju DVD's, so I will get to them as time permits.

BTW, I know MS covets my R2 Gamera set.  He still owes me a quarter for letting him touch it at G-Fest.

Phillip, it amazes me how well you catch up with the latest DVD's. I'm still trying to get enough money for the Yokai disks. Hell, the only Harryhausen disks I own are "Beast," "Gwangi," and "Scorpion." However, I guess it's because I've been buying more non-Godzilla materal, lol.

By the way, I don't think giving you a quarter is neccesary. You let me touch the BOX because you're generous and so forth. Ah, who am I kidding? I'll give you a quarter and you give me the Set!

Oh, and Steve said he never got an e-mail from you about the interview, but he HAS agreed for an interview. Thus far, I've asked him a question to expand on the MEGALON disk, and why he has been putting out these old kaiju flicks. Hopefully an answer soon. So, uh, post your questions, then I'll send it to him, then I'll put it in interview format, and send it to you through e-mail, alrighty?
