Godzilla Reborn (Part I)

“Open the link now.”
“Ok sir.” *The man at the monitors and controls turned his head back to them.
As he directed the video feed to the monitor he called out to the man behind him.
“Ok, its linked and you can view it right here”, he tapped the screen third from the right with his index finger.
“Good Jason, I don’t know what I’d do if you weren’t here helping me.”
Jason slightly tilted his head down and smiled. *The man behind him pushed his back against the chair as he raised his hands connecting the tips of his fingers before him. *He watched silently waiting.
The small sub-like craft followed in the wake of the larger Mech on route to its first objective. *The smaller sub measuring in at about two feet was equipped only with sonar and a camera, it was sent out as a surveyor so that the command center would be immediately aware of any complications. *The larger Mech in front was automated but it had backup manual that could be controlled from the command center if there was need of evasiveness or if the strategy changed. *The Mech resembled an arachnid, having six legs and an abdomen. *Two propellers attached temporarily to the sides of its abdomen propel it forward, but that doesn’t leave much room for maneuverability. *As it reached the opening to a large naturally formed chasm the propellers stopped.
“Shall I begin objective two sir?” *Jason turned in his seat.
The man lowered his hands to the rests on the chair and nodded.
The Mech’s propellers began to spin again as it descended into the chasm. *The small sub sped up behind it and arched into the dark.
“Switching on infrared.”
Jason leaned over and flipped the switch next to the camera’s on/off one. *The screen became a green view of nothingness.
“I’m sorry sir its very dark, there is hardly any light to pick up and if there was there isn’t much to see anyway.”
“Hmm” The man rested his head on his right fist and waited.
The Mech proceeded deeper into the chasm as it was programmed. *The smaller sub behind had increased its speed and was now parallel to it. *The Mech’s sonar blipped as it approached its estimated target area. *The Mech adjusted its course to fit the blip on the sonar, the sub followed. *Within a few more minutes the Mech slowed its pace and relayed back that it had found its target.
“Sir. Its there, proceed with step one?”
“No, skip to step two.”
“Why sir, I thought you said…”
“Its safer, and I don’t want the Mech to be damaged or destroyed. Now proceed.”
“Yes sir.” Jason typed in the code he needed to bypass the pre-programmed step one, and proceeded to commence step 2. *The Mech slowly used its propellers to lower itself into position.
“Where will the blast hit?” The man stood and began to approach the monitors.
“Here sir,” Jason pointed to a mass on the monitor, green in color, large in appearance.
“No, move it more to the right, I want it to hit here.” Leaning one hand on the table, he pointed higher up in the mass.
“I’m guessing that’s the head, so I want it to hit here, in the chest.” *The man turned and started walking back to his chair.
“Yes sir.” Jason began typing.
The Mech, glided a bit to the right and with the help of the propellers it was able to tilt upward exposing its underbelly. *It had no less armor or protection there, the only visible difference was that there was a ruby colored orb embedded in the armor.
“Firing on Godzilla now sir.”
The Mech’s orb glowed a light red, almost pink but it soon turned darker and the brightness lit the infrared.
A smile came to the mans face, when he could make out Godzilla on the monitor, although roughly through the infrared.
The orb seemed to pulsate with the power it held within. *The beam burst out of the orb, the color, a dark red, it moved fast to Godzilla. *The impact didn’t move the giant beast but it tore into his hide, the water bubbled and was mixed with blood. *Godzilla’s eyes opened and he immediately let out a roar.
“Did it really hurt him sir?”
“No, we only got him angry, now he’s going to look for what did that to him, get the Mech and the sub out of there, but make sure he can follow it.”
“Yes sir.”
Godzilla moved to his feet and began to scan the area. *He saw in front of him two trails of bubbles and the back end of one of them. *Godzilla took a few steps in the direction before they turned upward. *Raising his head up he could track the strange objects.
“Now, faster.”
The sub was in front of the Mech and it could easily move faster, but that wasn’t the point, it wasn’t needed anymore for this mission. *The Mech increased its speed and headed for the top of the chasm. *Godzilla pushed off from the surface of the ocean and began to swim after his attackers.
“He is in pursuit sir, and he’s gaining fast.” Jason’s voice seemed nervous but he held his hands calm on the keys.
“Good, just keep ahead of him that’s all, the Mech knows where to go now don’t mess with that pre-programmed location.”
“Yes sir and no I wont.” Jason increased the speed and tried to calculate the speed he would need to reach to keep a steady distance.
Godzilla swam smoothly through the water. *Even though he had no fins or flippers he still swam just as good as any fish. *The Mech came into Godzilla’s site and he could make out the creature, but it didn’t move when it swam. *Godzilla followed intently.
“Keep everything on schedule, the others are ready but lets try to get him there in time ok.” *The man adjusted himself in his seat; he had calmly waited for this everyday since the first Mech had began production.
Godzilla’s speed increased moderately over the time it took the Mech to lure him to the location but Jason was able to correctly increase the speed of the Mech to keep the distance balanced.
“Good, increase the speed and get on shore before him, I don’t want Godzilla to be able to get a shot on the Mech, not yet”
Jason nodded as he did as he was told. *The Mech sped away from Godzilla’s site but it didn’t falter him, he continued as he did. *The Mech was able to touch the surface of the beach before it was even half emerged. *Jason switched off the propellers and flipped another switch that detached them. *The spider-like Mech moved onto the beach swiftly, the propellers left behind, pulled in by the tide. *The Mech didn’t waste time getting as far from the beach as it could.
“Ok sir, its at a safe distance, I’ll turn on the camera feed.”
The Mech’s main camera clicked on and the image puzzled into view. *It showed the shore and the waves crashing up onto the beach, but Godzilla was nowhere.
“Good, now bring the sub back, I don’t want it crushed.”
The small sub that was used as surveillance began the journey back to the control center.
“Get the rest of the cam’s online, I want to see feed’s from all of them and make sure that the men are ready. Tell number one he can switch to Manuel and get moving when Godzilla is on the beach.”
“Yes sir, I will do that right away.”
Below the command center is six individual rooms, each with its own monitor system and controls. *Six men, one sitting in each room waited for the word to switch to manual. *They each had the full control of one Mech each, unless the command center switches to auto.
The speaker in number one’s room crackled. “Number one, go manual, move to your position when Godzilla hits the beach.”
The Mech turned to Manual and maneuvered around so the camera would face the shore. *The man at the controls waited and spanned it left and right slowly, looking for his sign.
Godzilla’s feet finally touched the sand deep below the surface, within a few more steps he was emerged from his shoulders up. *The Mech’s camera saw Godzilla with problem, it paused and centered on him before it turned and promptly walked into the cover of the jungle. *Godzilla continued his pace until only his tail still lay in the water. *He scanned the shore and the jungle that grew where the beach ended. *He couldn’t see anything moving nor could he smell but he could sense something. *Godzilla moved towards the jungle.
The island by itself is uninhabited, humans never populated it although it was explored in the past and found too thick with jungle and not easily accessible. *The jungle would seem to fill the entire island if you were to see if from afar or from its shore, but by plane or helicopter you’d see the jungle is only a thick barrier protecting its clearer flatter inland.
The Mech moved to its position and backed up against a tree in the shade. *The camera was adjusted to fit the opening where Godzilla was supposed to enter and to always see in the corner the other Mech across the way. *The Mech’s were in an ambush position, they are to wait until Godzilla has passed the first two and reach at least thirty more feet past.
Godzilla stopped, his feet crushing trees and plants. *He lifted his head and sniffed the air, he couldn’t smell any creatures but he could feel something past the jungle.
With a deep breath flowing from his lungs Godzilla lurched forward, onward.
Jason waited patiently at the controls, he didn’t have to do much more then assign orders on the fly in battle if any tactics changed, but he still felt like he was going head to head with that monster.
“Sir the scanners have picked Godzilla up he’s moving on course, he should rendezvous with the Mech in two minutes. I’ll alert them right away. Oh, yes. Do you want me to send out any of the chopper cams?”
The man’s eyes were closed but his finger tapped his temple repeatedly.
“Yes, and don’t spare any I want all of them out, I want to everything that happens. Your in charge of the camera changes.”
Jason nodded as he opened the auto piloting for the chopper cams. *The chopper cams were no bigger then the similar sub that was used for surveillance, except that the chopper cams could fly and had much more maneuverability. *They were automated but could be given any number of different flight patterns depending on the situation and level of danger.
Godzilla could see the open land now of the island, it was clear and clean with patches of grass, and a few spots that were littered with rocks. *His first step out of the jungle split a tree that fell into the clear, open touching down, it crushed it into the Earth. *Godzilla knew something was about but it was small and it felt as if there were many or a whole spread out. *Again he sniffed the air this time he took steps forward.
“Beginning phase one, confrontation” Jason gave the orders to all the Mech pilots.
Godzilla’s huge tree thick legs passed the first Mech. *The pilot watched the monitor in awe. *Godzilla’s steps shook the area around him, he walked slowly as if unsure, he continued forward, the feeling was stronger there. *He stopped and blinked watching the leaves and bushes across from him. *The wind blew but the bushes were too low to be affected and Godzilla could see a slight reflection of light in the shade. *He blinked again and was about to move forward when he heard clatter behind him. *He spun his eyes meeting the spider like creatures first. *As his body faced them, two more came out farther in front but still far from Godzilla. *He watched alertly, he was curious to what they were, but he was also aware. *The strange creatures that resembled spiders stood at thirty feet tall. They had large oval abdomens but their heads were smaller and had a clear hole in the front. *The main viewing camera was located behind the tempered glass that acted as an eyehole. *The legs had three joints and the last six inches of each was sharp edged steel meant for puncturing.
Godzilla’s roar filled the silence and birds took off out of the trees all around. *The Mech’s didn’t move, Godzilla grumbled deep in his throat as his tail thrashed back and forth slowly kicking up dirt and dust. *Another noise broke the silence this came from behind him. *Godzilla turned his body sideways his right facing the unknown beings. *Looking to his left he saw four more spiders come out of the jungle, out of the cover of shade. *Godzilla now growing increasingly uneasy let out another roar this time, it meant a challenge. *He knew he had creatures on both sides but he only faced the new arrivals.
The Mech’s in the far back on each side, stood upright on the back four legs exposing the orb underneath. *Godzilla could see the light reflecting in the orb and he stared at it, but he turned to face the other group of foes. *The orb’s of the four Mech’s that were upright begun to glow, the color darkened and simultaneously they released the power onto Godzilla. *The four beams of energy clashed with Godzilla’s hide. *Godzilla roared but he felt little pain, it was more annoying to him.
The four Mech’s that weren’t firing disappeared into the jungle. *The blasts were powerful but because they hit him from both sides he didn’t fall or falter. *Godzilla tried to turn and face his attackers but he found it difficult. *As he prepared to force his weight and turn the jungle behind him burst open. *One of the Mech’s flew from the jungle and landed on Godzilla’s tail, it immediately clamped its legs down into his hide. *Each legs knifelike tip pierced into Godzilla.
Godzilla’s roar was mixed with anger and pain. *He now had more incentive to turn and began to fight the force pushing him from both sides harder. *The Mech’s seeing Godzilla’s acting cut the beams and dropped into a crawl. *Godzilla spun hard and faster once the beams stopped hitting him but he steadied himself once he faced opposite where he did before. *The Mech on his tail held tight and made no effort to hold. *The four Mech’s that previously fired on him closed in around him. *Turning Godzilla’s spine fins glowed. *He faced one of the Mech’s and as he opened his mouth a bluish glow filled the blackness.
It filled his entire mouth and throat before he released it onto the Mech. *It didn’t move or try to defend against it. *The blast covered the Mech and it was no longer visible, all that could be seen was the blue energy pouring from Godzilla’s mouth. *The Mech on Godzilla’s tail squeezed harder but Godzilla’s reaction was to increase the force by which he brought out the power within his chest.
Godzilla blinked and tilted his head looking at the smoking ground. *The Mech on his tail pulled out the left half of its spikes from his hide and placed them on the ground, then pulled the others and quickly moved away. *Godzilla could feel the Mech’s spikes pull from his body but he continued to watch the smoke clear. *The last cloud of smoke blew away and Godzilla could see the Mech backing up from him. *He blinked and growled. *The Mech wasn’t burnt, blackened or even melted.
“Good, good. I knew it would work, there you see, I told you.”
The old man clapped his hands together happily. *Jason smiled but never took his eyes from the monitor. *It was only a small step in the process, there was much more that would have to work for it to be a total success. *The Mech’s armor was coated in a heat resistant layer that would not only deflect Godzilla’s blast but also help the armor to absorb the power to its own core.
Another Mech emerged from the jungle and approached Godzilla’s foot. *It raised its two front legs and rammed them down into his foot. *Godzilla jerked his head and stared at the spider at his foot. *Godzilla slid his foot back and pushed it forward trying to throw it from him. *The spider slid back with the movements but it was tossed into a tree and landed on its back when Godzilla thrust forward.
Turning Godzilla took a step towards the fallen Mech. *As if a panic broke out three Mech’s hastily came from the cover of the jungle and advanced toward Godzilla. *Alerted by the noise Godzilla turned and saw two Mech’s closing fast in on him. *With a roar he moved toward them.
The Mech’s spread moving each to a side, the third closing in from behind moved slower to keep from being heard. *Godzilla watched both of the creatures move but he went for he left when it made a sudden move towards him. *Godzilla picked up his foot and tried to crush the Mech but it was able to move to the side a little faster.
Godzilla moved quickly to spin his massive body as fast as he could to use his tail as a blunt object to try to kill the Mech’s. *The first Mech was caught of guard and got smashed by the tail; the second was able to jump back with a quick jerk and avoid being hit. *The force of the tail pushed the Mech that was hit into a roll that lasted till the pilot was able to grab the ground with the spiked legs. *Godzilla didn’t turn back around again because he saw a new target, the Mech that was trying to sneak up on him.
Wasting no time it pushed itself upright and began to charge its orb. *Godzilla saw the orb glow and remembered it from before. *The spine fins of his back began to glow as the power bubbled up in his throat. *The Mech held steady and once the orb was charge it released the blast. *Godzilla saw the red beam come for him and he opened his mouth and released his own. *When the two met they caused a bright light that lasted only a second before Godzilla’s blast pushed the Mech’s back. *Fearing destruction the pilot asked for help.
“Guys, c’mon he’s gonna blow up my damn Mech, I need some help now!”
The Mech that had avoided Godzilla’s tail moved as fast as possible to help. *It came to Godzilla’s tail but instead of impaling it, the Mech moved closer and jumped up to the beginning of Godzilla’s tail at the base of his spine.
Godzilla’s blast started to overpower the Mech’s and grow dangerously close to its orb. *The Mech on his back moved along the side of the spine fins up near his shoulder, there it spread its legs and pulled them together digging in. *Godzilla turned his head and the Mech’s attack hit him in the shoulder and chest and streaked across as he turned. *Godzilla roared as the beam burned him and he tried to remove the creature from his back. *The Mech on his shoulder only dug in deeper, its legs forcing together ripping farther into Godzilla’s hide. *The beam from the other Mech stopped but Godzilla still had to deal with the Mech on his back.
“Regroup, we have him in a good position, regroup around him now” Jason send word to all the pilots.
Within moments the Mech’s all moved in on Godzilla. *The Mech on his back didn’t have much choice, so the pilot held his position and waited for the next order. *The last Mech moved near Godzilla.
Jason watched the monitor, “Starting with Mech already on Godzilla, I want all of you to switch on your radiation drain.” *The drain on the Mech on Godzilla’s shoulder was activated.
The orb glowed a lighter shade but nothing fired from it; rather it was now absorbing any and all radiation that it could in the vicinity of it. *All the Mech’s soon followed one by one, their orbs glowing eerily. *Godzilla didn’t notice it at first, he was still to occupied with the pain in his back. *As he turned trying to throw the Mech from his back, he felt a weakness in his legs. *He didn’t stumble, but he bent and as was slow getting up. *The Mech’s moved in slowly, rising on their back legs. *Godzilla spun gathering all the energy he could. *He pulled all the energy he could muster to his throat and at the first Mech he saw he released, the flow of energy seemed even to strong for Godzilla himself. His head swayed as he tightly held his neck in place. *The Mech didn’t have a chance to dodge it, being on its back legs. *The blast knocked the Mech from stability and it fell, the power rushing over it.
“No!” The pilot yelled as he frantically moved over his controls trying to get his Mech up.
Godzilla’s force was too much for it though, the fragile orb cracked once, twice, then shattered letting the power into its shell. *With a spark, the Mech, exploded, Godzilla pulled back his energy but it was to late. *He could hardly breathe, his chest was heavy, his legs like stones. *He turned his head from left to right almost mechanically; the other Mech’s hadn’t moved nor given up even with the destruction of one of their own. *Again Godzilla tried to bring forth all the power of his body into him, to warm him, to bring the energy he was so used to feeling back. *It didn’t come, he fought it, he struggled, and exertion was taking its toll.
“Ha ha, we did it, I knew it was possible, it had to be able to be done, it had to be and there you have it. *The man stood waving his arms then pointed at the monitor showing Godzilla dying. “I told you, I told them but they didn’t listen, they thought that Godzilla was gone forever not seen in so many years, but him just being alive in bad enough.” *The man laughed again before sitting.
Jason watched he didn’t think it would work but what else could he have done. There wasn’t a way to sabotage it, and even if there were would he do it?
Godzilla swayed, his breathing coming slower and in longer intervals. *His eyes half closed but he couldn’t keep them open, he couldn’t fight anymore. *His tail lay lifeless, his feet didn’t move, his arms hung, his fingers only twitched slightly as he made an effort to move them. *Godzilla drew a breath; long, deep, his last. *His body lurched forward, slowly; he didn’t fall fast, given his weight and size. *His legs buckled, he collapsed. *His arms pinned to the ground under his own weight, his neck and head straight out, chin down. *His eyelids fell shut as the air in his lungs moved out through him.
Jason’s eyes now filled with tears moved from the monitor to the read out of radiation, the drop was incredible, there was only residual. *He blinked and the tears rolled down his checks, he tried not to wipe them.
The man behind him sitting in the chair was silent.
“So this is how it ends is it? *The monster I wanted to destroy, the monster that killed millions, and destroyed cities, has fallen. *He didn’t even cry out.” *The man lowered his head in respect.
“Tell them that they can shut off the drain now, there isn’t any reason to keep it on.”
“Yes sir”, Jason quickly rubbed his face as he spoke.
“All pilots, you can now shut of the drain.”
The drain on the Mech’s stopped and all the pilots sat watching their monitors. *They all waited, wondering, except for one. *His Mech had been destroyed, he left the controls shortly after. *The six remaining Mech’s on the ground dropped down to their normal stances. *The seventh located on Godzilla’s shoulder removed itself from his hide and joined the others around their victory.
“Ok, well now, we had better get started. *Send out the drones to get tissue and blood samples.” *The man behind Jason stated.
The drones appeared from the jungle across from the Mech’s and Godzilla. *They were smaller then the Mech’s by at least half, looking almost like large toy tanks but their turret were an epidemic needle. *They quickly went to Godzilla, each stopping a few feet from the other. *They were twelve in all, each one piercing Godzilla until the needle was all but deep within him.
Blood was drawn as well as tissue until each of the drones was full. *Then in two rows they headed back to the jungle where they came.
Jason watched the monitors closely, but not the drones leaving the scene, rather Godzilla’s motionless body. *He almost yelled out when he though he saw Godzilla move but it was only the Mech. *Each monitor and view showed the same picture, Godzilla lying on the ground in the middle of a jungle, blood oozing from the wounds that were made only recently from the drones, and even from his shoulder. *Jason continuously glanced at the radiation read out hoping that somehow it would pick up something. *It was blank, dead, just like Godzilla.
“Don’t feel bad boy, you just saved millions of lives, and who knows what else.” *The man behind him stood and slowly walked over to him. *Placing a hand on Jason’s shoulder he spoke again.
“I wouldn’t have asked you to join me here, and to do this project if I didn’t think you weren’t strong and capable enough. *Your father would have been proud to see you now. *You know its right in your heart.” *The man patted Jason on the shoulder a few times before he turned and walked back to his seat.
Jason raised his head to view the monitors and to tell the Mech pilots to take a break but before he could he noticed something. *He thought nothing of it at first but the bloodstains hadn’t gotten any larger. *Changing angles he noticed the same. *It made sense but then again it didn’t.
“Pilot number two could you move your Mech a bit to left please?” *Jason waited and watched the view change. *Zooming in he saw that the hole created by the drones wasn’t visible anymore. *He could hardly see them before but he could if he tried; now he couldn’t see it at all.
“Hmm”
“What is it Jason, something on your mind?” *The man perked up and straightened in his chair.
“Well yes and no. *He’s not bleeding anymore and I cant see the puncture wounds anymore.”
“What about the ones on his shoulder? *Check those.”
Jason flipped through the different cameras till he saw the highest up go by.
“Oh, there it is.”
Going back two he saw Godzilla from above. *He zoomed in but it wasn’t as close as he’d like.
“That’ll do Jason, that’s fine.” *The man remained seated but he leaned forward and squinted at the screen.
The Mech pilots all waited impatiently in their controls, they wanted to get out and take a break not that they did what they needed to. *Pilot number four as he was known as here began to stretch his back but stopped abruptly. *He thought his eyes were playing a trick on him but he couldn’t be sure. *Bringing his hands around to the controls he adjusted his Mech’s body to better view what he thought he saw. *Godzilla was nowhere near him but he still felt that sense of awe. *As he shook his head and said to himself, “it was nothing” it happened again. *Godzilla’s eyelid fluttered. *The pilots eyebrow furrowed, he leaned closer to the monitor while turning on his speaker.
“You guys might want to take a look at this, check out camera four.”
Jason heard the pilot and went to camera four immediately. *He didn’t see anything at first but soon after, it happened again.
“Sir?”
“I know Jason I can see.”
The rest of the pilots by now had heard from number four and were beginning to move their Mech’s around too, trying to see what could be happening.
Godzilla’s tail slid to the right catching the eye of one of the pilots, but he didn’t need to report in. *His eyes opened, and new air entered his lungs filling him.
Jason watched but couldn’t say anything he had no answer. *The pilots moved their Mech’s back farther from Godzilla fearing being crushed.
Godzilla raised his head slowly; his breathing was deep but not rapid.
“How? He was dead, he has no radiation in him, and there isn’t any for him to absorb. How?”
“I don’t know sir, I’m not getting any reading for radiation but I am for…something else unidentified.”
“What? What do you mean unidentified?”
“Its an energy source, but its not radiation or anything else that can be identified.” *Jason watched the read out of the unknown energy slowly grow and become stronger.
Godzilla pushed himself up with his forearms and by bringing his tail up his was able to balance himself and stand. *With a growl in his throat slowly being released Godzilla looked about in front of him.
The Mech pilots watched, stunned, they couldn’t believe what they were seeing. *Godzilla turned facing them to his left, lowering his head he stared at the Mechs. *He flexed his fingers moving his eyes from Mech to Mech. *Jerking his head upright he let out a roar, everyone that heard it had a shiver run down their spine.
“Sir?” Jason swiveled around to face the man behind him.
“Sir, what should…”
“Nothing, the pilots can handle themselves, they know what to do.” *The man twitched slightly as he spoke, his eyes quivering as he watched the monitors.
Godzilla slowly brought his head back down and his eyes meet with the Mechs. *The four other Mechs that weren’t in Godzilla’s field of view tried to stealthily return to the jungle. *The pilots soon found that Godzilla was fully aware of their movement. *Godzilla spun his upper body and turned to the retreating Mechs. *Quicker then any of the Mechs could move Godzilla tore across the ground hitting the first Mech full force. *With one Mech pinned to his tail the others were rammed with it and sent rolling. *With three of the Mechs temporarily out of play Godzilla was able to bring his full revenge to the other four now facing him.
Jason watched closely, he had no idea what had happened, no clue as to what gave Godzilla the power to live again.
Godzilla wasted no time with his first attack, leaping clear into the air he landed down hard on the Mech closest to him. *The weight was far too much for the small armor plated spider and it was crushed into the ground under Godzilla’s mighty foot. *The other pilots closest to the crushed one called out to the others.
“We can’t do it this way, he’ll shred us. Get back to the jungle.”
Jason didn’t respond even though the pilots had no direct power it didn’t seem to matter, all hell had broken loose.
The Mech’s that Godzilla had struck with his tail were just getting back in order when they heard the other pilot. *Scrambling all the Mech’s fled for the cover of the jungle. *Godzilla watched amusedly as the spiders ran from him, he waited for them to leave his site before he moved.
“I think he’s playing with them.” *Jason said under his breath, he quickly flipped through the cameras to see where each Mech was.
“Only six left…” The man behind Jason grumbled as he lifted himself in his chair and repositioned his body.
Godzilla stood his head parallel to the ground, still, quiet, patient. *The Mech’s didn’t dare move for fear of being heard, they waited for one of their own or Jason to give an order, but nothing came. *Suddenly a Mech burst from the jungle behind Godzilla, it moved as quick as it could. *Stopping abruptly it lifted up exposing its underside and orb. *Godzilla had titled his head as the noise but his reaction was slow moving. *He turned causally facing the Mech, which was now charging its orb for fire. *Godzilla blinked, his tail slid to the left. *The pilots released the power of the orb the second it was fully charged. *The glow of the energy that flew towards him danced in his eyes like fire. *Almost in a trance Godzilla remained motionless and let the energy hit him.
The pilot could barely see Godzilla over the brightness of the energy but he knew he couldn’t see his counter attack. *The energy punched against Godzilla’s chest, his head titled but he didn’t move. *A small growl rumbled up in his throat shortly before a bright blue glow could be seen in his mouth, it was even visible through the skin of his neck.
“How can he have his radioactive breath, there isn’t any radiation.” *Jason checked the read out before looking back to the monitor.
Godzilla’s head was pushed back as the energy flowed from his mouth, it moved like sand from an hourglass almost slowly pouring from its source. *The Mech pilot watched, he saw the attack coming, it seemed so slow but he couldn’t react fast enough. *The flow of energy rushed over the Mech; falling backward the camera went out. *The energy stopped only a second later but it seemed like minutes passed for Jason, he changed the camera to one of the trees. *Godzilla closed his mouth as the last of it passed out of him; he made a chewing like movement with his jaws before he roared.
There was a pile where the Mech used to be, smoldering, melted, destroyed. *Godzilla looked at the pile of smoking debris.
“That wasn’t radiation sir, I have no idea what it was.” *Jason didn’t bother to turn around, he was afraid that his face would show, a small smile.
Godzilla turned and smelt the air, he took a step for the jungle then stopped. *Two Mech’s farther down from him were moving. *Godzilla turned and pursued but the Mech’s stopped. *Two others now behind him moved, they emerged from the jungle and aligned into a row. *As Godzilla rotated his head to look the others showed themselves and lined up. *Godzilla waited for either side to launch an attack, but neither did, the attack came from the side. *The fifth Mech had sought higher ground while the others distracted Godzilla. *The Mech launched itself outward legs extended, Godzilla heard the Mech and turned to meet it but the piercing legs found him first. *They ripped into his chest, just below his neck. *He roared in pain but his arms tried to grab it. *The Mech pilot had no other options but to attack more, he began to charge the orb with the rest of the energy he had in the unit.
Godzilla was able to tear along the armor of the Mech but not damage was visible. *His other arm gripped a leg and he tried to pull it off of him. *The orb was nearly fully charged. *Grabbing a leg on the other side Godzilla pulled the Mech from his body. *As the tips of the piercing legs surfaced the orb fired. *The power of the blast pushed the Mech from Godzilla, it moved up his chest, to his neck and across his face. *Godzilla reared back as the energy surged over his eye. *The Mech fell to the ground, its own energy driving it. *Godzilla arched his head around, eye closed, leaning over the Mech. *The Mech lie on its back, vulnerable, trying helplessly to upright itself.
The pilot struggled with the controls trying to get his Mech back into a movable position. *Godzilla slowly opened his closed eye, heat waves rose from his flesh as it healed. *Reaching for the Mech Godzilla took hold of it. *As he raised it into the air, four beams of energy slammed into him, two from each side, the other Mech’s were trying to save one of their own. *Godzilla paid little attention to the slight burning on his sides; he rather began to crush the Mech in his grasp.
The pilot knew it was over; he aggressively yanked his heads phones off and threw them down. *He took one last look at the screen but it was fuzzy, the connection wouldn’t last much longer, he walked away.
The orb fractured, the armor of the Mech was being crushed in like an imploding sub. *With the lower half of the Mech crushed Godzilla dropped it, falling the Mech spun, its weight no longer balanced. *The other four Mech were beginning to lose power, the pour of energy out to Godzilla would eventually drain them totally if they held it much longer. *Turing Godzilla felt the energy deplete then disappear, the Mech’s had ceased fire. *Lifting his head Godzilla roared, two of the Mech’s began to approach him. *Godzilla’s dorsal fins began to glow a light blue, this hadn’t happened the time before when he attacked the other Mech.
“I think he’s evolving. *He somehow was able to live on even though his life energy, his radiation was drained from him. *Even now his body isn’t fully accustomed to this new energy.”
The glow of Godzilla’s fins grew darker, a deep blue flowed within them and near the base of his neck the glow could be seen rising into his throat. *As it filled his neck it slightly expanded before he opened his mouth to release it. *The energy now a darker deeper blue then before rapidly moved toward the Mech’s. *It would seem that Godzilla’s aim was off for the energy exploded into the ground next to the Mech but with a quick and fluid motion the energy shredded to the right across the Mech’s. *Almost planned once the flow of his energy passed over the second Mech Godzilla withdrew.
The pilots approaching Godzilla from behind stopped their Mech’s when they saw the energy. *The control room was silent; Jason was making sure that everything that was being seen and read by the equipment was being recorded for later review.
Two masses of twisted, melted and utterly ruined metal lay where the Mech’s once stood. *The ground has a small chasm where Godzilla’s energy had hit. *Dust, ash and smoke filled the air around the devastation. *As Godzilla seemed to be examining the damage, the last two Mech’s slowly turned in retreat.
“They might as well get out of there while they can, maybe we wont have total losses.” *The man spoke as he stood and moved around his chair to exit the room.
“Take over for now Jason, make sure everything gets filed before you shut down.”
Jason nodded but never took his eyes from the screens. *The last two pilots were nervous; they wanted to get away with their Mech’s intact. * They began to think that they were out of harms way but the thought was shattered but a too familiar roar. *One of the Mech sharply turned to see Godzilla rushing for him.
“You’d better turn quick!” *Pilot number seven yelled hoping the other pilot would turn his Mech.
Godzilla reached the Mech a second later and crushed it with a single step he never stopped moving. *The Mech was packed into the dirt as Godzilla pushed off that leg to continue on. *The last Mech had heard the warning but didn’t bother to stop; he wanted to get to the jungle to hopefully get away. *Godzilla hovered over the Mech as it moved; a growl confirmed to the pilot that an escape was impossible. *Godzilla clawed at the Mech rolling it a number of times before it finally stopped, amazingly upright.
The pilot quickly raised his Mech and turned all available power to the orb. *Godzilla hadn’t moved from where he struck the Mech. *The orb didn’t need to charge for the flow of energy would be enough and the last. *The orb burst but Godzilla had already gotten the idea, his neck was starting to glow. *The power from the orb was nearly a foot from Godzilla’s head when he opened his mouth. *The two energies only collided for a mere moment before Godzilla’s clearly overpowered the weaker Mech’s. *Its own energy being forced back to it, the pilot did the only thing that came to mind, cut the power and let the rest of the stored energy blow the Mech to bits. *As the pilot cut the flow of energy Godzilla’s power erased the Mech.
Jason wondered what the pilot tried to do; only one other Mech exploded when Godzilla blasted it. *The power is stored too deep; the explosion wouldn’t do any damage to him anyway he’s not close enough. *The pilot took a deep breath before getting up. *Jason turned to find the chair behind him still empty, he didn’t want to have to report even though it was obvious how things would end up after the first few losses. *Turning off the links to the cameras and the pilots Jason stood. *Before shutting down he double-checked that everything was saved for later review as ordered, with a blank face he looked up at Godzilla on the monitor again.
Lifting his head, turning, Godzilla roared, it wasn’t just another roar for the king of the monsters; it was a roar of a new beginning.

Godzilla Reborn (Part II)

A familiar form swam underneath the waves, deeper into the depths. Its movements smooth, it course sure.
“Good, make sure you never loose site of it.” The man spoke as he sat. The man recognizable to a few, and know by less. Old, gray-haired and slow moving he relied on the people around him for support, including the closest, Jason. Jason had control of the seven small crafts that resembled submarines that followed the mammoth creature in its journey.
“Is there anything else you want to me check while we still have time?” Jason turned to face the man and waited for a response.
“No, just do what you think needs to be done at the moment.”
It had been just over eight months since the defeat of the Mech’s. The team responsible was divided into other areas as the next form of attack was planned. Upon recovery of the little that was left of the Mech’s some of Godzilla’s tissue and blood was found. Further analysis showed that the tissue was before Godzilla had been drained of his radiation and that it could be revived if it were to be exposed again. With careful treatment and growth over a period of six months they had successfully cloned Godzilla.
“Jason, don’t let the last battle weigh on your mind, it was only a battle the war is not over yet, remember that.” The man coughed into a handkerchief and waved Jason off when he began to stand.
“I’ll be fine.”
Jason sat again and turned to the controls, he wondered if any of the battles could win the war against Godzilla.
The clone was not an exact replica because the samples had been pre-Godzilla’s “rebirth” it relied on radiation to survive. They thought that it would pose a problem but none occurred during testing or maturing process. The clone that he had dubbed BioGodzilla had implanted in the base of its brain, a small device that would allow for some control over the creature. It would send a small current to the brain that would trigger certain reactions. The man wanted it to ensure that the creature would never make a wrong move or not attack when an opening presented itself.
BioGodzilla swan deeper into the ocean following an instinct that Godzilla was close, they were the same once and a connection had remained. Jason wondered if Godzilla could feel BioGodzilla and if they would even fight each other at all. BioGodzilla was born from Godzilla; they share the same instincts and feelings, would they find each other a threat or an ally?
Jason moved the camera-subs farther from BioGodzilla and positioned a few behind him. The man wanted to be able to view everything as it happened and Jason was in charge. Thinking the best move was to attack Godzilla as he lay on the ocean floor, he sent BioGodzilla after him. It had worked last time with the Mech’s although he lured him on land, this time however the fight would stay under-water.
BioGodzilla could feel that Godzilla was very close so he dipped swimming faster. Jason saw that BioGodzilla was pulling away from the camera’s, trying to compensate he increased their speed. Godzilla lay sleeping where he had been for the past few months, he had a strange feeling inside him, one of a familiar sense, he began to awaken.
BioGodzilla passed closely over a large outcropping, his legs brushed against them knocking some rocks free. Godzilla was directly below, his eyes opened when he heard the rocks move. BioGodzilla curved his body as he turned to face Godzilla who was raising his head. Godzilla looked at the creature before him, twisting its body around to confront him. Pushing up from the ocean floor Godzilla blinking and tilted his head as the creature lowered itself in front of him. Godzilla raised his head to let out a roar just as BioGodzilla followed. The two monsters roars matched, Jason couldn’t believe what he was seeing let alone hearing. The man behind him could only stare, his hands tightly closed on his lap.
Godzilla lowered his head with a growl and looked BioGodzilla over. BioGodzilla hunched his body and curled his upper lip, a low growl rolled out. Godzilla could feel that this other creature was close to him somehow but it was also and enemy, it had a hatred for him. BioGodzilla was the first to move, his hunched body extended toward Godzilla as he rammed his body into him. Godzilla was pushed back against the rocks, the spines along his back crashing and piercing against it. BioGodzilla dug his claws into Godzilla’s hide, he tried to get his mouth around his shoulder but Godzilla forced him back. Godzilla pushed BioGodzilla away from him ripping the sunken claws away.
“Good, just as I had predicted.” Jason didn’t respond, he just adjusted the views around the battle and made sure none of them were in harms way.
Godzilla turned whipping his tail around striking BioGodzilla across the face knocking him to his side. BioGodzilla pushed up from the ocean floor as Godzilla turned back toward him. Godzilla’s spines filled with energy, his throat expanded as it flowed up toward his mouth.
“Make sure he uses his Jason!” The man called out rapidly. Jason nodded as he sent out the command to BioGodzilla.
BioGodzilla felt a small tingle in the base of his neck as his spines began to glow.
“Good, I’m glad we didn’t have the problems that we last had.”
Godzilla opened his mouth as the energy rushed forward; he fought with the force keeping his head straight. The radioactive breathe burst from BioGodzilla’s mouth in time to meet Godzilla’s.
“Now we shall see which is stronger.” The man stood as he spoke squinting at the screens.
The two clashed, neither pushing farther then when they met. Both monsters didn’t let up, but the clash ended when two reacted and exploded. Neither Godzilla continued with his attack after.
“What happened?”
“I’m not sure, its possible that they reacted somehow, the radiation and Godzilla’s energy.” Jason wondered what Godzilla’s energy was comprised of that it would cause an explosive reaction when met with radiation.
BioGodzilla stared as did Godzilla, the both never blinking as they sized each other up. Godzilla growled and flexed his claws and his tail slide back and forth. BioGodzilla hurled forward trying to bite at Godzilla but he moved back and pushed into his side. Godzilla turned his body as BioGodzilla fell and began to raise his right leg. BioGodzilla hit the ocean floor hard, as he tried to roll to his chest to push himself up Godzilla brought down his foot.
Godzilla’s toe-claws ripped into BioGodzilla tearing his side, blood contaminated the water. BioGodzilla grabbed at Godzilla’s foot in retaliation for the pain, he gripped it and rolled his body. Godzilla lost his balance having one of his feet pulled from under him. Falling backward Godzilla let out a roar, bubbles rising from his mouth. BioGodzilla pushed himself up and raised his head in defiance, Godzilla had caused him pain and he would return it.
“Interesting, it seems that every time either one wounds the other they take it to heart and enact revenge immediately. They have a hatred for each other even though they’ve had no real past.”
Jason could hear the talking behind him but he figured that because they’re both the same creature an odd reaction has occurred, what he did not know.
Godzilla uprightly himself as BioGodzilla crashed into him sending him down again. BioGodzilla clawed at Godzilla digging, ripping and tearing as much as he could. Godzilla howled out in pain as he was crushed against the ocean floor and tore into. BioGodzilla’s spines began to glow; Godzilla could feel it but was helpless to react in time. BioGodzilla moved off Godzilla just as his radiation filled attack splashed against him. Godzilla tried to get up but the burning was intense, when the attack finished Godzilla quickly jerked his head and energy raced from his mouth.
He must have been charging that attack while BioGodzilla was attacking, Jason thought to himself.
BioGodzilla took the blast just under his neck, it pushed him back giving Godzilla time to get to his feet. As Godzilla got up it revealed that the wounds of the attack had not yet healed.
“That’s the reaction, the same sort of reaction with the energy, it seems that his skin had a negative reaction also.” The man seemed pleased as he spoke he nodded as he finished.
BioGodzilla’s half bent body turned to face Godzilla, he growled and showed his teeth. Godzilla still could feel the burning, but it didn’t distract him. He lowered his body to match the posture of BioGodzilla but neither would move closer to the other. Both stared unblinking, they had only one thought when it came to each other, foe.
“They are they’re own worst enemy, they hate each other for reasons unknown but they’ll fight to death because of it.” The man cough and turned in his chair upon finishing. Jason turned for a moment but returned to the consoles.
BioGodzilla grew tired of the stand off, he began to strafe to his side slowly. Godzilla hinted on the movement even before BioGodzilla took the first full step, he rushed forward. Both Godzilla’s collided, each letting out an anger filled roar. Bubbles rose to the surface in mass. Godzilla took his opportunity to bite when BioGodzilla began to fall. Forcing his teeth deep Godzilla bit as hard as he could. BioGodzilla’s head wrenched back with pain but his claws lunged with revenge. One of the claws caught Godzilla just above his left eye penetrating.
“Amazing.” Jason couldn’t find the words to describe what he felt or saw.
Godzilla released his toothy grip from BioGodzilla when his claw tore free from him. BioGodzilla retreated immediately as his spines began to glow. Godzilla lifted his head, one eye held shut with blood flowing over it, the wound sealing. BioGodzilla released the breathe from within, Godzilla tried to avoid it but it had already struck him in his chest.
BioGodzilla fought to keep the power pouring from his mouth straight as Godzilla was being pushed back. Godzilla wrestled with the power that forced him while trying to keep his balance. BioGodzilla struggled now to keep the breath flowing, but it was too much and he had to cease. Godzilla had been building up a retaliatory attack all the while.
Jason watched what he thought would be the end of BioGodzilla, he had been weakened and there would be no way he could defend against the attack but what about Godzilla?
Godzilla let loose the power he held in his chest, the energy caused his neck to expand as it passed through. BioGodzilla tried to gather another attack but Godzilla’s was upon him. It smashed into him causing imbalance in his stance, he began to fall. As BioGodzilla fell the energy burned him, it slid over his body as Godzilla moved to keep it on him. Godzilla lowered his head to move his energy toward BioGodzilla’s neck and head. BioGodzilla could feel the energy sear his hide as it slowly crept toward his head. The last of the energy left Godzilla’s mouth as he raised his head.
“So he has a limit then too it seems they both have wasted their ranged resources, at least for awhile.” The man sat up from the slump he had been in watching the battle.
BioGodzilla took a few seconds to recover before pushing himself up and roaring. Godzilla’s upper lip curled and a low growl emerged. They locked onto each other, they both were hurt but neither was ready to give in.
Jason watched the monitor closely paying less and less attention to the read out of BioGodzilla.
“Its amazing, simply amazing, I don’t think this battle will end anytime soon.” Jason thought to himself.
The wounds on BioGodzilla’s hide where the energy had burned and scared were beginning to heal. Godzilla’s wounds on the other hand at least on the surface seemed to take longer than usual. Godzilla let out a short grunt before he took a few quick steps forward and rotated his body to strike at BioGodzilla with his tail. BioGodzilla moved back slightly to avoid the attack while trying to reach out for the tail. BioGodzilla’s claws scrapped along Godzilla’s tail as it passed from his grasp.
Godzilla spun intently as his tail came back around, he hadn’t the chance to prepare his balance for an attack when he back to move forward. BioGodzilla wasn’t expecting such a frontal attack so fast from the last and was taken down by Godzilla rush. The two titans of the earth fell hard BioGodzilla taking the force from the both of them. Godzilla expelled a short roar before he dug his teeth into BioGodzilla. BioGodzilla winced trying to pull away but with no room which to move he had little choice. Frantically tearing and ripping at anything his mighty claws touched he tried to release Godzilla’s painful riveted bite.
“Interesting, Godzilla went for close combat seeing how any form of ranged is useless.” The man coughed and pulled a handkerchief from his pocket.
Jason was thinking to himself while he watched the fight continue. He never thought it was a good idea for him to watch the action as he always got to excited and it wasn’t good for his health.
Godzilla ignored the pain that BioGodzilla tried to direct to him so that he might release the grip his jaw had on him. Godzilla’s intent on massive injury to BioGodzilla had him clenching his jaw so tightly that his teeth nearly came together.
BioGodzilla roared and tried helplessly to move Godzilla’s massive body from his, but with every movement the pain only became worse. Godzilla content with the depth of his bite began to shake his head back and forth while pulling backward.
“I don’t believe it. Its like he’s gone berserk, he’s attacking with pure adrenaline. Am I right Jason?”
Jason nodded even though he wondered himself. Godzilla was an animal if he even fit under that definition but this was different even for him. Jason felt that they both brought out the worst in each other.
Biogodzilla’s hide was tough but the force at which Godzilla pulled seemed to be too much for it. Blood was oozing from the many wounds making the water cloudy around Godzilla’s eyes. BioGodzilla’s pain was intense but it began to subside as his body tried to recover.
“The levels of adrenaline must be amazing.”
“That’s true Jason, I only wish we knew.”
Godzilla gave a quick jerk of his head with a powerful pull back that left Biogodzilla’s hide with a large wound that gushed with blood. BioGodzilla’s eyes went wide as a roar that took every bit of air from his lungs. Godzilla began to stand and already the wound had stopped bleeding, but in Godzilla’s mouth the radiated blood and flesh started to burn his tongue and gums to the point where he felt it.
With a grunt Godzilla opened his mouth and the large chuck on flesh drifted out. BioGodzilla’s mouth was already full of a blast that Godzilla had failed to notice because of the short interruption. The stream of power struck Godzilla in his neck pushing him back with little to stop him, his feet came out from under him as he fell backward. Godzilla’s latest fall added more debris to the water making it even harder to see.
“Jason quickly move around so that I can see will you.”
Jason was already ahead trying to find a clearer area. It seemed that there was no area currently not clouded. A roar was heard followed by another; BioGodzilla stood his wound nearly fully healed. Godzilla was almost to his feet but already his spines were glowing, as he stood he turned and opened his mouth. BioGodzilla saw his enemies attack and dodged it but tilting to the left.
“I don’t belive it, he dodged it.” The old man was awe struck; he never thought anything could dodge Godzilla’s blast. Godzilla didn’t seem to care having started moving forward his speed faster then usual. BioGodzilla didn’t miss a step either, only seconds after the successfully dodged the blast did he begin to move. The two behemoths meet hard, their bodies clashed, their claws tore, their teeth bit. For every wound there were two returned. Soon both Godzilla’s slowed and backed away, both had numerous wounds many of which had healed but some that hadn’t. They eyed each other and grunted flexing their fingers and arms snapping their jaws, it was a stand off each waiting for the other to attack first.
“Send him in, give him the signal to have him attack now!” The old man didn’t like this pause he felt it was only giving Godzilla time to heal and prepare.
BioGodzilla felt the sudden urge to charge forward but he couldn’t fight it, it was just too tempting. Godzilla caught BioGodzilla’s sudden movement and moved as well. Before the two met though Godzilla stopped and spun bringing his tail around to crash into BioGodzilla’s head. The force knocked him off his feet sending him down hard. Godzilla brought his tail back and walked over to BioGodzilla.
As BioGodzilla tried to get to his feet he saw Godzilla open his mouth and blue energy poured out onto his unprotected face. BioGodzilla groaned and roared as his skin melted and burned and his eye swelled shut. The energy halted as Godzilla bent down and scratched at the wounded face. BioGodzilla bit at Godzilla’s hand as he maneuvered his feet and arms under him. He finally bit down on Godzilla’s hand and used it as leverage to get back up. Godzilla tried to pull his hand free as BioGodzilla’s spines began to pulse and glow.
“I don’t belive Jason do you actually think he can destroy his hand?” The old man pushed up from his chair trying to stand but his legs couldn’t hold him.
“Please stay seated, you can see fine from there and I’m not sure.” Jason waited till the man sat again before he turned back around.
Every time Godzilla tried to pull his hand free BioGodzilla’s teeth dug deeper and tore the wounds wider. The radiated energy of BioGodzilla burst forth engulfing Godzilla’s hand, his head jerked up and a pain filled roar erupted with bubbles toward the surface. When the blast ceased blood mixed with water around Godzilla’s hand. Godzilla took a few steps backward as BioGodzilla shook his head and roared. Godzilla’s hand or what was left of it was mostly bone, there was hardly any skin left and some of the claws even were missing.
“Its, his hand, I don’t think we’ve even seen Godzilla take an injury so intense before.” Jason said as he stared at the screen trying to zoom in for a closer look. Godzilla grunted as he lifted his arm and looked at his devastated hand. Growling he raised his head curled his lips and narrowed his eyes at BioGodzilla. BioGodzilla returned the growl as he shook his whole body and hunched down preparing for a full on charge. Godzilla’s hand was already starting to recover although much more slowly then usual, the skin was starting to cover bone from the wrist out toward the tips of his claws.
“Attack, attack now damn it before his hand can fully heal!” The old man screamed as he pounded the chair.
BioGodzilla felt that strong urge again and even though he was prepared for an attack he instead started one. Godzilla’s mouth filled with energy as BioGodzilla came at him. Godzilla’s energy flew at BioGodzilla who tried to duck just as he had expected. Godzilla forced his attack down his neck strained and he nearly lost control over the blast but it arced down and streaked across BioGodzilla’s back where he ducked to avoid it. BioGodzilla tried to get lower but it was useless as Godzilla adjusted to his movements. Godzilla rushed forward before BioGodzilla could stand erect. BioGodzilla’s face still hadn’t fully recovered; the wounded eye was still closed to the advantage of Godzilla.
The titans collided neither wanting to fall both of their feet moving as fast as they could to stay upright. Godzilla only had one hand at his disposable but BioGodzilla couldn’t see well on that side. BioGodzilla grabbed at Godzilla’s wounded hand trying to cause more pain to overthrow his mighty adversary. Godzilla was able to get his hand over the closed eye of BioGodzilla just as he was able to grab his hand. Both monsters roared in pain as they tried to hold onto the source of their enemy’s weakness. Godzilla was able to pierce BioGodzilla’s eyelid with one claw damaging the eye within. BioGodzilla cried out in pain but he didn’t release his grip it only tightened. Both enormous beasts stopped, their holds not loosening but neither tightening.
“What happened? Why did they stop?” The old man coughed as he once again tried to stand.
“Damn it grandfather what did I say about getting excited!” Jason yelled as he turned and stood pulling the headset from his head.
“How dare you yell at me? You wouldn’t have this job nor would you have his opportunity if it weren’t for me.” The old man finally stood his legs shaking slightly he still had one had on the chair for balance.
“Its not good for your health.” Jason said quieter almost apologetically.
“Please sit down.” Jason said as he approached his grandfather. The old man nodded but didn’t say another word as he sat.
Jason stopped when he did and returned to his own seat replacing his headset.
“I don’t know why they stopped, perhaps the pain is so intense that they want to release each other.”
BioGodzilla didn’t dare move, his eye throbbing. Godzilla blinked he wanted to push his claw deeper into the wound but his own hand would feel the same. BioGodzilla made the first move he twisted his grip sending an extreme amount of pain to Godzilla. The return wasn’t a plunge of his claw deeper into his eye but rather his spines back to glow. BioGodzilla pulled and twisted Godzilla’s hand trying to get him to release his face and eye but it seemed that he was only using the pain to fuel his attack. Godzilla’s spines glowed brightly and his neck started to fill and expanded with a blue hue but he still waited.
BioGodzilla couldn’t see very well with only one good eye but he could see the glow. In a desperate attempt he pushed Godzilla’s hand toward him while trying to pull his head free. Godzilla’s spines only glowed brighter and his neck looked as if it would soon explode.
Jason and his grandfather were both silent as they stared without any words to describe what or was happening. Finally Godzilla opened his mouth and let the energy free, his jaw opened to its fullest but even that it seemed it wasn’t enough. The energy came fast and hard at BioGodzilla hitting him first in the face then the neck then the chest as he was pushed from Godzilla. The energy almost had no end as BioGodzilla was hurled backward before he fell into a ravine and Godzilla’s blast could hit him no more. The energy tore into the earth past the ravine as the last of it left Godzilla’s mouth. His neck returned to its normal size as he roared.
BioGodzilla was no where to be seen, none of the camera subs were near the ravine and more then a few were already headed that way. Godzilla pulled his wounded hand close to his body and held it there. With a roar he pumped his body upward as energy left his body on all sides.
“That’s it, that’s what I always wondered if he could do and now I’ve seen it although its not the same, its not radiation.” The old man muttered as he scratched his eyebrow. It was his theory that Godzilla could release the radiation within his body three hundred and sixty degrees.
The energy surrounded Godzilla and it seemed to Jason that his healing had increased. He zoomed in on the wounded hand to find that most of it had skin on it and even though it was still far from being fully healed it was much better then just before.
“Strange,” was all Jason could say as he watched.
Godzilla moved his hand back from his body to his side and roared again before starting off for the ravine. The subs finally reached the ravine but the darkness was too thick to see the bottom.
“It could go for miles, do you want me to send one down?” Jason said taking the controls of one sub waiting for confirmation.
“No, just wait.” The man furrowed his brow and wondered if his perfect clone was alive.
As Godzilla neared the edge of the ravine he leaned over and looked into the depth. He growled as a light appeared deep within, Godzilla moved his head just as BioGodzilla’s assaulting blast flew past. Deep within the ravine BioGodzilla was stalling for time so that his eye could heal, it was open now but his vision was slightly blurred. Pushing off the seabed BioGodzilla swam with all his speed upward toward his revenge. Godzilla backed up few steps waiting for his adversary which he knew was coming. BioGodzilla swam near the lip of the ravine where he reached out and grabbed it. They both stared at each other before BioGodzilla pulled himself up.
The man breathed a sign of relief when he saw that his pet was safe and fully healed. Jason wasn’t sure what was going to come of this, the battle already would have killed any normal creature but with both healing the wounds they’re dealt the battle could last forever.
The stand off had lasted a few seconds but neither of the monsters even blinked. BioGodzilla’s eye was fully healed at that point but Godzilla’s hand wasn’t. The hand was covered with skin now but it was still thin and weak, Godzilla flexed it stretching the newly formed muscle.
“Jason give BioGodzilla a little nudge.” The man’s tone was much lighter then before, Jason wasn’t sure if it was because of what he said or if he had simply calmed down. BioGodzilla once again felt that urge but he ignored it.
“Did you do it yet?” The man sounded more then a little annoyed.
“Yes I did I don’t know why he didn’t react.”
“Do it again then, and again till he does react.”
BioGodzilla felt the urge growing, he ignored it but it was getting very annoying. He roared and shook his head breaking the stare between him and Godzilla. Godzilla tilted his head and blinked but didn’t attack.
“I think he’s ignoring it.” Jason said without any doubt.
“I don’t belive it, you see now why I don’t like using Biological attacks. I don’t like using anything that can’t be controlled one-hundred-percent.” The man coughed and wiped his lip before he shook his head and wondered if it wasn’t to earlier for his third strike.
BioGodzilla felt the urge fade and once again was settled resuming the stare with Godzilla. Godzilla wasn’t staring back however but rather at his own hand, which was now fully healed, he roared. BioGodzilla sensing a possible attack from Godzilla decided to go on the offense. BioGodzilla began the attack rushing forward, Godzilla charged ahead a moment later. They met with a crash as their heads twisted and clashed their claws tearing. Godzilla hurled his body forward into BioGodzilla pushing him back giving Godzilla an opening to bite his neck. BioGodzilla grunted as teeth pierced the hide of his neck, using his tail he was able to stop the backward motion and steady himself for a counter.
BioGodzilla made a risky attack, using his tail again he lifted his legs and kicked forward both dragging his large claws across Godzilla body and pushing his away.
Godzilla’s bit came loose as he was thrown back from the kick, the teeth left a few large tears in BioGodzilla’s neck. Godzilla stopped as his spines began to glow, BioGodzilla had landed on his feet and he too was gathering his attack.
Jason just noticed the damage on BioGodzilla’s neck and wondered if that somehow would affect the oncoming blast. Godzilla released his energy straight for BioGodzilla as he unleashed his own. As BioGodzilla’s neck stretched to allow the awesome flow of power many of the wounds that were still healing began to split again and tear even larger. BioGodzilla felt the discomfort but didn’t cease his attack. Godzilla didn’t let up on his attack as he noticed that the force that his energy met was slipping. BioGodzilla could feel the pain in his neck; some of the wounds were close enough to his throat that the attack could even rip through. BioGodzilla slipped, he felt his neck nearly tear open and as a result Godzilla’s energy neutralized his own leaving him open for the attack. The energy surged over BioGodzilla’s face and even entered his mouth.
“NO!” The man yelled standing nearly falling before he grabbed the chair. Jason half turned but he couldn’t take his eyes from the monitor. Godzilla’s attack seemed to last forever, as the energy disappeared BioGodzilla’s face was not visible with the cloud of blood surrounding it, he fell to his side.
“No.” The man said softer as he sat his head low. Jason wasn’t sure what to say the readings were positive saying BioGodzilla was still alive but the accuracy wasn’t sure.
Godzilla roared moving his head from side to side before looking at his fallen enemy. There was no movement from BioGodzilla, his neck still had a few wounds, the skin on his face looked raw even showing bone in some places and his eyes were closed. The wounds were still healing although Jason wasn’t sure what that meant. The cell could be self-surviving but that mean much for the overall being. Godzilla slowly approached all the while his eyes were on BioGodzilla’s face. Godzilla stopped before the fallen clone leaning down he grunted.
“What’s going on, what is he doing?” The man asked as if Jason had an answer.
“I can’t say, I mean maybe he’s sorry that he killed it?”
“It? It Jason has a name. I think my creation deserves more respect from you then that.” The man took offense to the remake but didn’t expect much in the ways of apology. Jason didn’t care to respond either he was too busy with the many cameras.
“I wonder, I wonder why that time when their power met it didn’t react?” The man tapped his chin as he thought it over. Jason had an idea but he didn’t voice it, it seemed to him that Godzilla might have more control over his energy then they think perhaps this time he let more out then before and was able to overpower BioGodzilla’s in resulting in no reaction.
BioGodzilla moved, his arm twitched but his eyes remained closed. Godzilla raised his head and waited. BioGodzilla’s face and neck no longer had any open wounds most had healed completely. As Godzilla blinked and tilted his head BioGodzilla’s eyes opened and he began to get to his feet. Godzilla backed up a few steps his tail moving back and forth. BioGodzilla stood and shook his head before he looked at Godzilla and growled, he returned the growl with one of his own.
“What’s going on? Why aren’t they attacking?” The man was getting impatient; he wanted his creation to crush Godzilla while he still had a chance.
A few more seconds passed in silence as both Godzilla’s stared at each other perhaps somehow communicating. In unison they raised their heads and roared, it was a sound to behold. When they made eye contact again it was a signal, BioGodzilla came forward as Godzilla hunched down ready for an attack. Godzilla moved one of his feet before the other as BioGodzilla closed in. As their bodies clashed Godzilla was able to hold his ground but BioGodzilla kept up the attacks.
“I...I don’t belive what I’m seeing.” Jason sat back in his chair.
“What, I don’t see anything odd what do you see?”
“Nothing odd?” Turing his chair Jason faced his grandfather.
“Odd? They aren’t fighting to kill anymore cant you see that? I mean look.” Jason threw back an arm toward the monitors.
“Before they were attacking to kill now their attacking for fun or just to spare I think.”
“Jason please I doubt that very much, please continue to do you job now would you?” Jason’s grandfather waved him off and threw the silly opinion out of his thoughts.
Godzilla and BioGodzilla tried as hard as they could to throw the other to the ground. Godzilla’s spines started to glow but his neck didn’t begin to expand, as before he released his energy through his body. BioGodzilla noticed the glowing spines and as he felt the energy burn and push him away his neck started to stretch. The energy from Godzilla pushed BioGodzilla enough so that Godzilla could knock him off to his left but BioGodzilla unleashed his attack hitting Godzilla above his left arm knocking him off his feet.
“The angle was just right, I don’t believe it...hahaha.” Jason lowered his head once he realized he spoke aloud. Both Godzilla’s crashed into the ground, Godzilla had a burn over his left arm from BioGodzilla’s attack and he had already healing wounds from Godzilla’s out thrown energy. They both starting getting to their feet but BioGodzilla rushed and pushed Godzilla over again as he stood. Standing above him he charged his radiated blast again as Godzilla’s spines began to glow.
“At that angle Godzilla should have the disadvantage.” Jason thought to himself but after seeing this battle anything was possible. The two energies collided and true enough BioGodzilla did have some advantage but Godzilla didn’t let that stop him from unleashing all his had. The two energies traded back and forth before something odd happened, they moved. From the view it was hard to say if one of them moved or if they energy somehow adjusted but the two blasted streamed parallel each other. Godzilla was pushed into the earth from the blast for only a moment before BioGodzilla’s aim was thrown off from the energy striking him.
Godzilla grunted and moved to his feet and hands, turning he swung his tail around knocking the balance from BioGodzilla, as he fell Godzilla stood and roared. BioGodzilla immediately tried to get his feet while Godzilla watched intently. Once BioGodzilla was up it was Godzilla’s turn to launch a head on attack. BioGodzilla was ready when Godzilla clawed his neck and bit at his shoulder. He returned with a crashing head attack that left both of them stunned for a moment. BioGodzilla’s spines began to glow and Godzilla stood and took notice, he could have released the attack at that moment but didn’t. Godzilla grunted as his spines started to glow, their necks enlarge almost simultaneously as their spines began to glow even brighter.
“What kind of reaction could an energy attack at such close range do?”
“The answer in simple, you do remember what happened to Godzilla hand in that close range don’t you.” Jason titled his head for his grandfather’s response but none came. He too was very interested in the outcome of this latest development but even he wasn’t sure whom if either would come out on top.
Godzilla’s neck filled with energy as he opened his mouth, BioGodzilla felt the radiated blast climb his throat toward his open mouth. The two blasts didn’t have much distance before their collision, both Godzilla’s had trouble keeping their blasts under control both of their heads were shaking slightly. Just as it seemed they would loose control of their blast because of the close proximity their feet started to slip. Their claws dug into the ocean floor but they still moved backward.
“The force of those blasts must be amazing if they are moving each other backward.” The man could hardly believe his eyes as his greatest fear came true. His clone was Godzilla and in being so he cannot kill Godzilla. Be it power, strength, or even kinship they will forever be equal.
“Jason, I doubt this battle will ever end so I will be leaving once I see the conclusion of this skirmish.” The man came forward in his chair leaning closer to the monitors even though he was more then ten feet from them.
Both Godzilla and BioGodzilla had moved from their original position and they were starting to feel the affects of such a drawn out assault. When it seemed that it could go either way the blasts ceased and their spines returned to normal. Both Godzilla’s roared but BioGodzilla turned and started to swim away. Godzilla roared again and watched as BioGodzilla faded into the darkness. Turning he grunted as he headed back in the other direction. Jason had three cameras following BioGodzilla but he wasn’t sure where he was going.
“Let him go Jason, bring the cameras back. We have failed again.” The man slouched and took a deep breath.
“But I don’t see how we can let a monster that we created go free...”
“No, he isn’t free we can still track him and I doubt he will be going far, he doesn’t want to leave his brother.”
“Brother? I don’t think they feel they are brothers.” Jason sent the command to turn over the subs to autopilot and return.
“Jason, you’ve always wanted to know about that third project and the areas of his oil rig that I don’t let you access or ever see. Well today you get that access.”
“Why?” Jason liked that idea but he didn’t like where it was going.
“I don’t think I’ll be around long enough to see my third and grandest project kill Godzilla so I want you to take it from here. I’ll give you all the access codes and passwords and you’ll have access to all the files from its early days till now.”
“But grandfather...” Jason stood and walked over to his grandfather starting to stand.
“No Jason you make sure everything gets logged as usual, a lot of that data is important to the third project.” The man began walking toward the door. Jason didn’t have much of a reply to that. He walked back and looked at the monitors, only water, blue water. He shook his head and tried to laugh but nothing came. Not only did his grandfather’s clone not kill Godzilla but it too was free to roam the Earth now.
Deep below the surface in two different locations, roars erupted from the darkness.

Part 3 is slightly lower under a few posts.

Cool story! But you didn't exactly explain how Godzilla got his 'hidden power' when he lost all of his radiation. I'll also read part II soon.

Its been awhile since I wrote or re-read it but if I remember I think its said that Godzilla "healed" himself and his body created its own form of energy for him to live off of(sort of : P) Just wait for part III things get deeper and the word Reborn really takes effect, the whole trilogy is about his rebirth.  http://www.rodansroost.com/ikonboard/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Godzilla Reborn (Part III)

Jason rubbed the tears from his face and cleared his throat before walking down the hall to the elevator. The ride down was slow, the words he had just heard kept repeating in his head, the last words from his now dead grandfather.
“Jason, it’s up to you now to release Omega, this is my last request.”
What should I do he thought. Releasing another creation with the intent of killing Godzilla for what reason? It was his grandfathers dream not his own, but he did owe a lot to him. He felt he needed to do this for his grandfather. The elevator doors opened and he stepped out.
“Oh good evening Jason, I’m very sorry I heard the news.” Said a man who was waiting for the elevator. Jason nodded as the man passed and the doors closed, he wasn’t sure exactly who the man was or what he did here but it didn’t matter anymore. Everyone knew that this last project, project Omega was the last hope. If it failed there was no more money, no more jobs, if it succeeded who knows what potentially could happen? He walked down the hall passed several doors that he didn’t even think about, at the end was the door he wanted, it led to a room that gave a wonderful view of Omega.
He punched in the code and the door slid open. Walking in he glanced out through the bulletproof glass to see everyone clearing out of the area; it was only an hour till launch. It wasn’t as if it never had been activated before, it had, and even had several test runs on the very island of the first projects failure. Thinking of that made him wonder, if those spider creations of his grandfather and the other various scientists and workers here had killed Godzilla where would he and they all be now?
Sitting down in a soft leather chair he slid up to the desk and entered the password to get passed the screensaver. He had been listening to his grandfathers voice recordings but had left in a hurry when he heard that his condition had worsened, that was last night, over fourteen hours ago. He was tired and getting hungry but he wanted to finish the last two recordings before he launched Omega. The last was recorded the day before they released BioGodzilla. His grandfather had become bedridden just a few days after that. He played the second to last file; it was mostly praise for the Omega like the rest with some info about what had changed. The last file however was different.
“Jason, I made this for you as I know this will be my last days. BioGodzilla is being released tomorrow and I am to say the least ecstatic about it. I have my doubt although very little and I do hope that it succeeds with all my heart. I feel as if it fails, I will die much like it. Omega though is my life’s work, I couldn’t let you know about it for reasons I even know can’t tell you but it is of little important and of no consequence if you do not know. I build most of it before those spiders but I didn’t want to send it out against Godzilla until I had seen what he was capable first hand, hence the first project. The second was more of a whim and I decided to go with that instead as I didn’t think it would be possible to do such a thing, to clone Godzilla.”
There was a pause before Jason heard his grandfather coughing. He couldn’t help but wonder what the reasons were for him not being informed.
“I might still even be alive at this point and if I am please don’t ask me about why I never told you. If I have passed before I could tell you then here it is. I want you to activate and launch Omega. I know you don’t have the bloodlust to see Godzilla dead as I and many here do but you must put that aside for me.”
Jason nodded.
“I will leave you with his Jason, I loved my son, your father, and I love you just as much. Don’t place yourself underneath him, he may have never said that he loved you but he did, he told me so. Goodbye Jason I wish you and the project the best of luck.”
Jason felt the tears coming again but he held them back. He stood and left the room he still had time to eat before the launch and he needed to occupy his mind. The food had no taste; well he didn’t taste it as he chewed mindless. This day was different then the other launch days. It really could go either way again but this time there wouldn’t another chance, a forth try, just game over. Jason watched the elevator doors close and let the hum pull him deeper into the daydream he had been in since starting lunch.
“I can’t do this, I’m not my grandfather, nor am I my father, its our own fault that Godzilla is here. The world created him the world must pay then.”
“What about the innocent? What about those who never had anything to do with it, those that were born after it had happened. Are they to die as well?”
The ding from the elevator snapped him back to reality as the doors slid open. He walked slowly taking with each step another view on what he was about to do, whether it was right or wrong. He stopped and punched the code, then stepped into the room, ten minutes till launch. The plan was simple they would lure Godzilla to the very same island with a failed beta version of one of the spider bots using a mixture of chemicals to make sure Godzilla gave chase. It was strange really, he was never made away of such things until recently. The chemicals were unknown to him only that it was make Godzilla urge to follow or something to that extent.
The phone rang; Jason picked it up, “Hello?”
“Sir, Godzilla’s ETA is less then fifteen minutes I think it would be best if you launched Omega early.”
“Thanks for notifying me, I will,” he hung up the phone and froze; it was time.
From this room he could control most of the operations but he only had half of what was needed to launch Omega, it was for security reasons only. He entered the three passwords that gave clearance then he activated his part. He could hear the power being shut down and Omega’s own core starting; it was booting and filling the power cells with energy. Jason wasn’t sure exactly how Omega was powered, he did have it explained to him but he still was baffled how it was executed and how they managed to get it to work.
Below and opposite of Jason an alert popped up telling the operator that the first half of the launch had been activated. The operator looked at the time first before entering the passwords and activating the second half. The second half made Omega aware, in other words it booted his AI and let him run through the scans to make sure everything was ready. Omega had more then five dozens repair units scattered around his body in strategic locations for internal repairs. They could do simple repairs that might be needed during the fight; any major damage couldn’t be fixed in field.
Omega ran thought the tests before checking the notifications left by programmers as to what was going to be done. There was only one, it simple said, Godzilla. Omega scanned his database in less then one second and came back with the definition for that word. He became aware and began loading all the necessary programs to prepare. It should have only taken thirty seconds from boot for Omega to launch himself; it had been forty.
Omega was never given enough intelligence to become self aware but from what he could gather during the previous tests and the small program he installed on the main system, he knew more then they knew he did. He knew about Godzilla, what he had to do, why, and where, but he also knew about the other failed projects, he was scanning through everything in the databases.
Jason began to think that maybe there was an error, but suddenly an orange light in the center of Omega’s head lit up signaling that was ready to launch. Omega didn’t have eyes but he did have external scanners, infrared, motion sensors, cameras, thermal detection, and other ways of knowing where everything was around him. The huge platform that was on began to raise and the ceiling above him opened. Not wanting to waste anymore time Omega launched himself via the rockets under his feet. The force was powerful enough to get him airborne but not for very long. Once he had cleared the oilrig he tilted and active the other boosters and sped off toward the island. Inside Jason was worried, Omega wasn’t to launch until he had cleared in innards of the rig. The damage from his internal launch was only to the platform but that was the least of his worries.
Godzilla followed the urge that lured him, he wanted to destroy it to stop it but the sensation was a good one, strange how he couldn’t bring himself to attack it, he would follow it a little longer.
Jason had his theories as to what Omega really was, they had all said Omega was one hundred percent machine but Jason doubted that. He wondered if perhaps Omega had some biological parts under that armor, he had seen Omega move and he could hardly believe that a machine could move like that, that fast. The weapons as well were deadly and even horrific to Jason. Omega has retractable blades on his knees and elbows, large sword like extensions in his forearms that could eject toward his palm even into something in his grip. Omega can even use its own power core to send a powerful current through its entire body even though any of the bladed weapons.
Godzilla could see that the darkness of the ocean began to brighten, the surface wasn’t far and the chemical mixture was almost depleted. Omega located the island in the distance; he was closing in so he dropped to fifty feet above the water causing large waves to form in his wake. Omega wondered what how Godzilla would fight, he had been feed lots of information about his tactics, past battles, data about his height, weight, speed, attacks, everything. To Omega though, it all meant nothing. His scanners had incredible range; he detected Godzilla approaching the island and slightly alerted his course.
Jason was sitting comfortably in his chair watching on six large LCD’s different feeds, one was on the mech luring Godzilla, another a high view of the island, another one of the camera’s on Omega. Two had data streaming across them one of Omega’s the other of Godzilla’s but that was blank at the moment, it would rely on Omega for its data.
Godzilla became bored with the mech and broke to the surface early seeing a familiar island nearby. Omega dropped from flight and gravity hurled him toward the island. Godzilla caught notice of Omega as he dropped into view, being curious and also sensing a threat Godzilla headed for the island.
“That went better then I though.” Jason said as he saw Godzilla’s info appear on the screen. The phone rang but he reached over and unplugged the line. This battle meant more to him then just the possible end of Godzilla.
Omega landed much softer then would be expected of something of that size and weight. He scanned Godzilla and confirmed the data; Omega ignored the automatic data that the programmers had installed to alert Omega about Godzilla. He was his own, they may have made him but they made him to fight on his own he wasn’t about to take advice from them now; this fight was his fight.
Godzilla had reached the beach but had stopped to study this odd creature. It was standing immobile, Godzilla was unsure what to make of it; he grunted and roared. Omega noted Godzilla’s roar as that of a powerful beast, he admired the monster that had endured so much. Rushing forward catching Godzilla off guard Omega connected with a right punch that knocked Godzilla down. With a splash of sand and water Godzilla crashed down, Omega jumped back anticipating a counter.
Godzilla didn’t expect an attack that fast or that strong, getting back to his feet he charged Omega. Omega judged that Godzilla was only testing the limits of his enemy before he would really start attacking so Omega would give him false limits. Godzilla slammed into Omega moving him but not knocking him down. Omega thrust its knee upward smashing into Godzilla. Godzilla grunted but Omega released the blades embedded within. Godzilla felt the blades tear into him, he jerked back ripping free as Omega stepped back the blades disappearing back into its body. Omega scanned the wounds and found that they had already stopped bleeding.
Godzilla unleashed a wave of energy that blasted Omega on his left side sending him twisting to the ground. Not about to let this enemy recover Godzilla quickly moved to Omega and crushed down with his weight on Omegas arm. The damage wasn’t even remotely bad but that crushing blow did weaken the structures of the arm. Omega spun over pulling its arm free grabbing Godzilla’s leg. Godzilla began charging another attack but Omega grabbed his neck and lifted him.
Omega was given the right weight and his abilities were adjusted well, Godzilla wasn’t hard to boost at all, keeping him there was the hard part. To avoid any damage that might be down by dropping Godzilla, Omega leaned forward and threw Godzilla. Surprised that the enemy could lift him so easily Godzilla flinched for a second but his energy never stopped building, mid-flight he loosed it. The force connected with Omega’s chest and pushed him back. Godzilla’s blast kept him moving but with gravity pulling him down changing the angle Omega broke free.
“Odd, it seems Godzilla’s blast has some sort of magnetic effect, once Omega is hit by it, its nearly impossible for him to get away.” Jason tilted his head and wondered how that might affect the outcome.
Godzilla was getting back to his feet again as Omega launched himself into the air, it was capable of jumping twice its own height. Omega landed but Godzilla was on him before he could even unbend his knees. Godzilla found that his claws weren’t very effective against Omega’s shell. Omega tried to reach out for Godzilla’s neck but he was already ducking and spinning. Godzilla’s tail collided with Omega’s arm, the very same that he had crushed before, the integrity was slowly failing, Omega slanted with the hit but kept its balance. As Godzilla came around Omega grabbed his neck and ejected the blade within its forearm into his neck. Godzilla felt the blood pour down his throat, he tried to grunt but he only gurgled. Omega sent current through its body into the blade, the electricity entered Godzilla’s body adding to the pain in his throat. Omega’s grip was tight Godzilla couldn’t pull away.
“Could it really end like this? It seems to easy?” Jason was holding his breath.
Godzilla’s spines began to glow, the power gathering. Omega increased the flow of electricity to its maximum, Godzilla jerked his head but the pain only worsened. Godzilla felt the energy moving up toward his mouth, he didn’t hold back. The power of Godzilla’s energy tore through the hole in his neck, like water it entered the small opening where the blade had been ejected. Omega released his grip as damage was done internally. Godzilla’s neck was worse now, his own energy gashing the hole larger. Omega gave the command for the repair units to move to the arm and fix any internal damage they could.
Blood covered Godzilla’s chest, the wound in his neck was healing but it was still a large wound. Omega didn’t want to counter; Godzilla was proving to be more improvising than expected.
Jason’s attention was brought away from the battle when one of the monitors changed to a view of the ocean.
“I don’t believe it.”
Godzilla felt a spark within him, it was familiar but he didn’t know what it was from. Godzilla lifted his head and roared, his neck now healed. Omega crouched and dove forward into Godzilla. He knocked him over and landed on top of him, not wanting to let the monster get any chance for a counter Omega unsheathed the blades on his elbows. Godzilla tried to get Omega off of him but the combined weight and the way he was holding him down proved very hard. Omega raised both arms and slammed them down into Godzilla’s chest, the blades cleaving into him. Godzilla tried to knock Omega off of him again but the blades were taking his attention and focus.
A powerful blast hit Omega causing him to pull his blades from Godzilla’s chest; suddenly another struck him and threw him off of Godzilla. A familiar roar sounded, and Godzilla knew why he had felt that spark. BioGodzilla roared again then approached. Godzilla slid over and moved upright to face himself. Omega scanned this newcomer and identified him as BioGodzilla the second failure.
“This is going to be interesting.” Jason leaned back resting his head on his hand.
Omega let loose all of the blades and charged the two monsters. Godzilla’s internal wounds hadn’t fully healed but his skin had, BioGodzilla leaned forward lowering his head. Omega struck BioGodzilla first slicing him across the neck and face as he spun wildly. Godzilla tried to use his body to stop Omega but the blades opened him on his arms, chest, neck and sides. Omega continued his outrageous spinning; both Godzilla’s growing more annoyed.
Godzilla spun hard swinging his tail high clipping Omega stopping his assault long enough for BioGodzilla to slam into him. Omega started to loose his balance falling back, improvising, he kicked out with both legs and caught BioGodzilla hard in the side launching both of them opposite each other. Omega used the force to roll mid-air and land on his feet.
Godzilla was ready and directed a blast toward Omega; it was met with crossed arms deflecting most of the attack. BioGodzilla got back up and grunted with frustration, Godzilla felt it as well and roared aloud. BioGodzilla moved up parallel to Godzilla, they both looked at each other a moment before their spines started to glow. Omega knew the attacks were coming so he lunged himself forward in an attempt to stop them before they could blast him.
Omega was almost to them when they both opened their mouths and the power was poured forth. The combined blasts met him with a force that he couldn’t have possible blocked or deflected; the power sent him flying back at the mercy of the attack.
“This doesn’t look good for Omega. I wonder how he will handle things after this?” Jason furrowed his brow.
Omega finally fell free of the energy as it ceased he impacted the ground un-gracefully. Both Godzilla and BioGodzilla didn’t waste a second; they were heading for him a mere second after their attack had ended. Omega could feel the seismic vibrations caused by the two charging Godzilla. Before he could even get himself upright, they bashed into him at full speed, Omega was once again at the mercy of the attack. Structural damage to his chest was starting to become a danger, more then a half-dozen of the repair bots had been damaged in some way to make them useless.
Omega got up again faster this time before either Godzilla could reach him. Running forward to meet them he jumped and put his right leg forward connecting with BioGodzilla. BioGodzilla felt the pain explode in his chest and the full weight of Omega crashed into him, he rammed backward straight into the ground. Omega landed on one knee before the back of his head was bashed by Godzilla’s tail. Falling forward Omega reached out and caught himself before hitting the ground but Godzilla kicked him and rolled him over.
BioGodzilla grunted getting back up the pain in his chest fading, turning he saw Godzilla raising a leg to stomp on Omega’s chest. Omega grabbed the foot with both hands holding it up. BioGodzilla hurried over raising his own leg, Omega removed one hand to grab the other foot trying to crush him but the force behind the two was becoming overwhelming. Omega stabbed both Godzilla’s feet with the blades in his forearm then quickly sent a strong current through them.
Godzilla felt the pain but he only pushed down harder as did BioGodzilla. Omega had little choice left, he charged one large current and at the exact second he started to push the crushing legs away from his body he released the shock. The combination of the sudden movement and the wave of powerful electricity caused them both to miss Omega. Taking the opportunity Omega got up as fast as he could and jumped back away from the two Godzilla.
Godzilla spun showing his teeth clearly frustrated, BioGodzilla was slowly to turn, he roared in irritation. Omega knew he would have a better chance facing only one opponent, but which one could he take out the fastest. Omega had a trick up his sleeve, he had a secondary “mode” if you will where he could increase the flow from his power core and lessen all his joints in affect making him more agile and faster, the only down side would be that any damage could be severely worse in that state.
“What is it doing?” Jason stood watching Omega’s stats.
It was a risk that it was willing to take for it knew little of risks and the consequences that they might entail. Godzilla could feel an increase in the energy coming from Omega, BioGodzilla took a few steps forward then looked back at Godzilla. Omega did a quick scan to find that he had suffered the worst damage to his chest and left arm. With all the blades fully extended he stormed forward toward the closet, BioGodzilla. BioGodzilla turned back from looking at Godzilla just as Omega’s right blade tore into his eye. BioGodzilla roared in pain and reared back pulling the blade free but two more had already entered his body via Omega’s left knee.
Godzilla sprang forward to help BioGodzilla but Omega had already stabbed him in the neck, upper chest and arm. Omega pushed BioGodzilla aside as Godzilla came forth. Omega kicked out but Godzilla moved passing it crashing into Omega, using his legs to keep upright Omega managed not to fall. The two traded blows, Omega slicing where he could, Godzilla streaking his claws across Omega’s armor but having little affect. BioGodzilla rushing from the side using his side and shoulder collided into Omega knocking him away from Godzilla.
BioGodzilla was still bleeding and one eye was still shut, Omega went into a roll to prevent any damage. Godzilla’s spines started to glow, BioGodzilla shortly followed, Omega remained motionless. He had to avoid it; another hit like that could breach his armor, or even damage a joint to the point of uselessness. Godzilla’s eyes studied Omega, he was watching for any twitch any movement, this was a machine though; he didn’t give any sign of his choice until he executed it. Adjusted his footing Godzilla grunted to BioGodzilla who did the same.
“Amazing, I think they are communicating, this is absolutely amazing.” Jason was ecstatic.
“I never thought that Godzilla had any communications skills, but perhaps he doesn’t perhaps they can communicate telepathically? Oh this is just too much, I wish I could study them.”
Omega was ready; he could dodge to either side just as they started the attack. Godzilla was the first to release his energy; BioGodzilla waited another second before his burst forth from his mouth. Omega jumped to the right as he calculated that was the best was based on the trajectory of Godzilla’s attack. BioGodzilla however adjusted and his attack met with Omega; Godzilla followed now powers converged on Omega.
“Unbelievable, Godzilla must have somehow told BioGodzilla to adjust his feet so that they could move their attack without compromising their support. That is just unbelievable, it couldn’t have been that complex.” Jason shook his head then turned to the desk and started to take notes.
Omega was hit hard but he was able to spin and the damage was spread over his left arm and back. When the attack stopped Omega’s left arm was all but destroyed, it was intact as a whole but the joint was damaged and had lost most of its motion as well as the weight (lifting) capacity. Godzilla and BioGodzilla both roared the sound was something to behold.
Omega was starting to become reckless, he may have been AI but he hard learned much on this day. Grabbing his left arm with his right he sent the command to separate his left arm. The shoulder hissed and split as the connections were severed and the joint was dislocated. The arm fell free, the shoulder hissed again and closed, a shield came over the opening closing the hole.
“What does Omega think he’s doing? That was meant only for repairs and if the arm was entirely useless.” Jason wasn’t happy about this turn of events but he was curious how Omega was coming to these conclusions.
Omega held the arm and swung it a few times before him; in his calculations he concluded that it should prove to be a powerful blunt weapon. Omega raised his right arm up and back as he moved forward toward Godzilla who was closet. Swinging fast and hard Omega bludgeoned Godzilla on the side of his head splitting his hide open and knocking him almost to the ground.
Godzilla jerked and the world spun, his eyes shut but he couldn’t stop the feeling that the world was spinning. Omega ran passed heading for BioGodzilla bringing the arm to his left, his right arm across his chest. BioGodzilla was ready though, he turned and raised left arm to soften the blow. The attack even softened still caused BioGodzilla pain and left him open for attack. Omega being so close to BioGodzilla smashed his head downward. BioGodzilla saw a flash as his head burst with pain, when he opened his eyes they were blurred with blood.
As Omega raised the dented arm to bring crashing down on BioGodzilla he was hit from behind. Godzilla nearly jumped into Omega sending him down into and onto BioGodzilla sharp jagged spinal fins. More then a few managed to pierce his thick armor compromising his defense. BioGodzilla pushed up with his legs with all his strength and flipped Omega over behind him. Omega rolled over and quickly regained his footing, ducking in time to dodge BioGodzilla’s tail.
Godzilla moved beside tackling Omega but not taking him down, Omega struggled with Godzilla but was at a great disadvantage having only one arm. Releasing the blades in his knee’s Omega let Godzilla force him backward using the force to bring the blades up into Godzilla’s torso. Godzilla felt the metal slip deep into him tearing his innards, but he kept moving forward. Omega pulled his right left free and placed it behind him for stability.
BioGodzilla’s fins began to glow; Godzilla could feel the energy behind him. Omega still held his detached arm in his grip. Ripping the blade free Omega simultaneously moved his left and right leg placing them on Godzilla and pushing backward launching himself away. BioGodzilla unleashed his attack as soon as he saw Omega break away from Godzilla but Omega dropped and moved so that he was between them. BioGodzilla tried to adjust his aim but he would have hit Godzilla in doing so, he ceased his assault.
Godzilla grunted he was tired of this fight; BioGodzilla shook his body in anger and roared. Omega suddenly had a percentage change and new plan formed; just as BioGodzilla lowered his head from his roar Omega jumped sideways pitching his arm. The arm soared and struck BioGodzilla just as he had calculated, using the slight diversion, Omega quickly got back up and leaped forward in front of Godzilla.
Godzilla had turned his head slightly to watch the arm pass, as he turned back he saw Omega raise his hand palm open. The blade ejected and Omega jammed it forward with all the power he could manage in his arm at that second.
Jason jumped at the sound; he had never heard such a loud cracking noise in his life he jumped in his chair.
“Oh my god…” he mouthed without even a whisper.
BioGodzilla heard the noise as well; it hit him even deeper within his mind in the back of his head. Omega’s blade mechanism had broken in more then one place and his wrist joint was severely damaged but he had accomplished what he set out to do.
Godzilla’s mouth hung open, he hadn’t moved since the blade tore into his head cracking his skull and piercing his brain. Omega twisted his arm trying to break the blade but it came free when he pulled his arm back. Godzilla remained motionless, his eyes were open then he started to lean forward. BioGodzilla rushed forward but Godzilla was already falling to the ground, he landed lifelessly.
“I don’t believe it, I just can’t” Jason put a hand over his mouth; no matter how hard he tried he couldn’t close it. He could only image the celebration going on below where everyone was watching.
BioGodzilla stopped when Godzilla hit the ground, looking up to Omega; he let out a growl that turned into a roar that was deep and filled with anger. Omega had accomplished his goal, his scanners weren’t functioning correctly but his reading for Godzilla showed failing life signs.
BioGodzilla moved forward as if to fall but when his legs finally moved he burst forward faster then ever before. Omega rolled passed the wild charge and ran forward grabbing his removed arm; he turned to face BioGodzilla ready to set free his power. Omega had only one chance and every other way he tried to analyze it, he just couldn’t avoid the attack. Changing the flow of his core again he increased the flow of power, the output at that level was dangerous but he desperately needed to avoid any attacks that BioGodzilla threw at him.
BioGodzilla opened his mouth and the atomic energy surged forth. Omega rolled to avoid the torrent of energy but when he adjusted Omega had to run. Omega kept just ahead of the stream of energy that was nearly upon him. BioGodzilla struggled to keep the energy flowing but he had to stop, as soon as he did Omega rushed him. BioGodzilla was slightly unfocused after the prolonged attack that he couldn’t duck the blow from Omega.
“If we had never cloned Godzilla, I wonder if that would truly have been the end of it all.” Jason’s eyes moved from the monitors to his hands, which were clasped before him.
BioGodzilla was dealt another blow the second only adding clouds to his thoughts and vision. Omega raised his knee fast into BioGodzilla pulling it back and thrusting it forward again and again. BioGodzilla snapped inside, the pain in his body was distant; he felt life in Godzilla, life that was fading. Omega dug the blade of his right elbow into BioGodzilla’s lower neck and tore it across as hard as he could. BioGodzilla roared, it was mixture of pain and anger. Before Omega’s blade could exit his flesh BioGodzilla reached deep within him and released his power.
A force from within BioGodzilla blasted omega backward, his roar continued as the power erupted all around him. The wounds to his torso and lower neck remained open and bleeding, his power was being diverted. Omega stood his armor was intact but his entire external defense against any energy attacks was entirely depleted. BioGodzilla’s spines were glowing brighter then ever before, the heat coming from him was intense.
“Is…is BioGodzilla going into a meltdown?!” Jason stood and approached the monitors he felt horror at the thought of what that might bring.
Omega charged BioGodzilla again smashing him again with the arm; BioGodzilla absorbed the hit spinning with it bringing his tail around to impact Omega. Omega bent at his waist joint as the tail rammed and pushed him back and away. BioGodzilla came full circle and saw Omega land before he turned to face Godzilla still lying still.
He moved as fast as he could to his side, the energy within him fleeing his body as if it was afraid to remain. He could feel the force within him weaken but he knew that it needed to be done. Godzilla’s brain was repairing but it was slow and his power was diminishing.
His heart still beat, slowly, rhythmically, each of his cells using all of its power to heal. His brain was complex and not as simple to repair as skin or muscle, but help was coming. Unexpectedly a force entered his body, it was warm and so very familiar. Each and every cell absorbed it, there was an abundant amount and each and every bit was taken in. His brain even though it was severely damaged knew what this energy was and where it was from.
BioGodzilla could feel Godzilla’s life returning, he could feel his heartbeat increase and the spark in his mind return. He felt weak and tired and he wanted to sleep, BioGodzilla always had the feeling he was the weaker of the two but now that didn’t matter as they were now one.
Godzilla’s eyes snapped open in time to see BioGodzilla’s close as he fell to the ground. Godzilla rose, looking down at BioGodzilla. He couldn’t feel him, he was gone, raising his head he roared, it was an amazing roar it had an echo within it that made it double. Godzilla felt within him a part of BioGodzilla, he would live on within in, their energy now combined.
Omega’s readings for Godzilla were off the scales, readings showed odd numbers that just didn’t add up. Godzilla looked down at BioGodzilla again then turned to face Omega who was already charging. The separated arm swung through the air and sped toward Godzilla, it collision shattered the arm. It was as if it were a twig, Godzilla grunt and head-butted Omega. Omega’s head dented and he fell backward.
“So then, it is true, Godzilla is immortal and can’t be killed.” Jason walked back to his seat never taking his eyes away from Godzilla.
Omega unsteadily got to his feet preparing to attack Godzilla with his blades. Godzilla spun throwing him with his tail. Omega’s armor was failing it wouldn’t take much more. Omega increased the flow of power from his core; it was now producing over triple its normal capacity. Omega knew that it couldn’t hold out at that level for long but he only needed enough time to get to Godzilla to detonate it.
Godzilla watched as Omega ran toward him, his fins began to glow. Godzilla held it waiting for Omega to get closer; when he was just upon Godzilla he jumped hoping to avoid the blast. Godzilla didn’t move his head until Omega was just over him. Omega forced as much power out of his core as possible to cause a self-detonation. Just as the power ripped through the core, Godzilla raised his head and unleashed the power within.
Jason saw that Omega was going to explode, Godzilla’s energy tore through Omega’s chest like it was foil just as the core exploded. The explosion blocked Jason’s view but he quickly changed to another aerial camera. He saw a huge cloud of dust and bursting from within a long blue beam reaching high into the sky. Slowly it faded but the dust and debris remained. Jason was certain that the blast must have tore into Godzilla and killed him, that the blast was just his energy being released or some sort of spasm.
Jason rubbed his face, he swallowed, this was it, either way this was it.
From within the dark cloud of dust and debris a roar bellowed. Godzilla strode out, the dust streaking off him as he moved. Godzilla turned back and a let out a soft roar, it was a cry for BioGodzilla. Turning he moved toward the beach and slipped back under the waves. Jason watched and waited for the cloud to dissipate, he saw a crater and pieces of Omega were scattered about. He saw BioGodzilla still lying where he had fallen.
"Just because man creates it, does not mean man can destroy it. Godzilla will live forever as a reminder of that. I'm sorry grandfather, I'm sorry." Jason’s faced was marked with tears, he hadn’t failed his grandfather, he did release Omega but he felt as if Omega had been his grandfather incarnate. He wiped the tears from his face and realized that he had been sitting there for quite some time. He started to turn off the monitors when he realized that something was off.
Deep under the ocean waves Godzilla entered a large chasm he called home, back on the island however, BioGodzilla was no where to be seen.
