I was wondering. Does anyone know what the fastest ksaiju is right now.

I would have to see Megaguirus. The way she flew circles around Godzilla was insane. And don't forget how fast her wings moved. I don't think we've ever seen a kaiju move their wings so fast like that before.

Officially, it's Death Ghidorah, who flies at an amazing Mach 27.

Never knew Death Ghidorah flew so fast... but I say Megaguirus. I mean, really.. lets see Rodan beat that http://www.rodansroost.com/ikonboard/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/megaguirussmilie.gif

<font color='#32CD32'>Not counting Light Speed Mothra, I'd have to agree that Megaguirus is fastest. Toho's &quot;official&quot; info usually contradicts what's seen in movies (i.e., Gigan is green and gold in all products and licensing, even though he was BLUE and gold in his film appearances).

Death Ghidorah flies at mach 27?? Where is this said???

In sprints I'd say Megaguirus is definitely the fastest. However, the way she zips around like that would take up a lot of energy so I don't think she could maintain that speed constantly, hence why she only does it in bursts.

As far as distance flying goes, I'd have to say Rodan - the old master of speed. http://www.rodansroost.com/ikonboard/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif

As an interesting note, Megalon apparently can tunnel underground at Mach 3, which is far faster than he can fly or run above aground. http://www.rodansroost.com/ikonboard/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/laugh.gif

Megagurius wouldnt have any problem with stamina, just look at the insect world, they dont really ever tire.

But as for who is fastest, you really need to be a little more specific with this question. Flying in an atmosphere is much different than flying in space. GF Moguera has a maximun speed of Mach 47 in space, if I remember that correctly. Space Godzilla would also be exceptionally fast in space flight as well. But those speeds would be drastically reduced in an atmosphere.

The problem is that Toho, I believe for the most part, quotes speeds for their Kaiju in an atmosphere with a few exceptions. I also dont believe they are even close on the actual speed of their monsters, so its not going to be very easy to figure out.

If you mean which is all around fast then I say probably either Ghidorah(Death) or Mothra.

I meant seperately, as two sperate issues, because it's not exactly fair to compare the speeds of something which simply has to get through air, something that has to run, and something that has to push it's way through the sea/other water. &nbsp; They require different skills and sets of muscles.

Megaguiras isn't actually that fast upon close examination. &nbsp; She just uses her speed much better than other kaiju (and is also insanely manueverable)

<font color='#FF0000'>In my opinion, Rodan is a fast kaiju, but so is Gaira and Sanda . I think nearly every flying Kaiju is fast.

Megaguirus for Maneuverability
Spacegodzilla, Showa Ghidorah, or Gigan for space flight (they all managed to cross thousands of lightyears in only a few years)
Iris in the skies
Megalon underground
Aqua Mothra in the seas
and one of the Showa brutes in running (they are all rather speedy)

Is it just me, or does Toho list just about every flying creature's top speed as Mach 3?

Here are my votes, but are just in the general area (no real fastest, unless otherwise stated).

Space: Showa Ghidorah, SpaceGodzilla, Gigan (all of which traversed countless lightyears in a very short amount of time), MOGERA (it reached the asteroid Belt within minutes of being launched)

Air: Irys, Heisei Gamera (kept pace with Irys and Super Gyaos pretty well), Rodan, Gyaos (of any breed), Lightspeed Mothra (definitely the fastest).

Land: Megalon (Mach 3 burrower), Baragon (nearly as fast as Megalon, but not quite), and I guess the Gargantuas for sheer running speed.

Sea (This is a tough one): Manda (seems to have the build for it), and Titanosaurus is probably the fastest (tail strong enough to create hurricane-force winds).

Maneuverability: Megaguiras (definitely), and probably Grand Ghidorah (can hover in mid-air indefinitely, so he could probably execute some fancy maneuvers if he wanted to).

Atmosphere: Light Speed Mothra, Irys, Gamera, Megaguirus, Grand King Ghidorah, and Melba.

Space: Definately Mogera, Space Godzilla, Ghidrah, Gigan...

Ground well...yeah, Megalon basically. Cartoon GINO can burrow pretty fast. On land, Showa Godzilla has shown to be able to move incredibly fast, too. GINO is faster, though...even though he can't outrun a taxi.

As far as the fastest kaiju, Megaguirus is fast, but like a dragon fly, it usually does its fastest flight in spurts. Over an extended distance, I would have to say Rodan.

Water- Aqua Mothra

Space- Ghidorah/Gigan (at about mach 3 each)

I'm not certain on the actual speed of Megaguirus, but note that it didn't display that horrific speed without first using its ability to make a magnetic field. It seems that, due to the speed at which the wings had to be flapped for that field to stay up, it couldn't be reasonably maintained in the long term. While insects don't necessarily 'tire' quickly, very few actually fly long distances in single shots.
&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Rodan's a fan favorite for the air-speed, especially compared to more clumsy fliers like Ghidorah (Who's really more apt at space flight, for whatever reasons). I'd put him, or Gigan (He did have an impressive turn of speed when he was going 'la machine' on Goddy from the air), in the slot of Goji-universe airspeed king.
&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; Obviously, outside of that- lightspeed Mothra, or Irys.

yeah your wright Rodan would beat Megaguirus in an extended race. Wellllll maybe
magaguras is fastest in air.mach 4.that faster than rodan.

I think most of Showa Ghidorah and Gigan's speed in space comes from those diamond-like objects we see them change from. I'd say the Nebulans use those kinda like Pokeballs to quickly deliver kaij uto targets.

But anyhow, I was just thinking about this subject and chose to revive an old topic rather than make a new one.

Here's my list of the top five fastest kaiju in aerial combat*.

1. Irys: Mach 9
2. Showa Mechagodzilla (II): Mach 5
3. Hyper Gyaos: Mach 4.7
4. Super Gyaos: Mach 4.5
5. Tie between Mecha King Ghidorah and Megaguirus: Mach 4

*I specify aerial combat as it is, because MOGERA can go Mach 44, but that's in space, and Lightspeed Mothra can go incredibly fast, but you wouldn't see her try going that fast in combat.

As for Kaiju flight speeds, I've noticed that the slower fliers are very small (Gyaos), very bulky (Legion), or have an unusual method of propulsion (Hedorah).

The faster kaiju (that aren't on the list) usually either have some sort of mechanical propulsion (I count Gamera's jets as mechanical) or do a lot of wing flapping (Mothras and Ghidorahs).

Some kaiju have flight speeds that are in-between the fast kaiju and the slow kaiju, but lean closer to the slow side. These kaiju do a lot of gliding. Rodan and Varan belong here.

Megalon gets a category of his own, because he can fly, but at a terribly slow speed. I theorize that this is because he's built more for digging and his wings are there primarily for hovering for brief periods and not hardcore flight.

I never thaught I'd be doing this but I have to defend Gino.... When he was chaseing the Taxi he wasn't trying to outrun it, he was trying to catch it. If he just ran past it that wouldn't work, they could get away by turning while he was turning around. Now I happen to know from experince involving chickens that if you run after something that is lower to the ground, and you plan to reach down you can't go fullspeed. when you reach down it unbalences you, and you will crash, espesaly if you have to brake. So Gina wasn't using his full speed to chase the Taxi.
I feel dirty now.

Hmm in space would be Spacegodzilla
In the air would Lightspeed Mothra
On land would be Megalon (he can burrow at speeds of up to Mach 3)
