What sizes should the kaiju in GFW be, Heisei, Showa, or a new set?

I say a new set, I would like to see Goji at 70 meters...

Hopefully they will be different, but if my hunch is correct, that the movie takes place in the Showa universe, then I wouldn't doubt that the sizes of the kaiju would be Showa sizes.

That and Millenium movies so far have used roughly Showa sizes throughout. There hasn't been a kaiju over 75 meters IIRC.

This shouldn't even be a poll. It is flat-out personally confirmed by Wakasa himself that Godzilla is scaled at 100 meters.

Which is fine for me, considering where he's going.

I am not saying I don't believe you, but where did you hear that?

Personally, the Showa/Millenium size would be the best, as Heisei size just didn't do fast that well.

Keith from HO! ran into Wakasa and asked him.

Ang and Allo are both correct, it's already been confirmed that Godzilla will be 100 meters, so everything will be scaled according to that.

Thank you.

Well, the director said that things would be fast and the kaiju didn't look to bad on the trailer. It will most likely be done fine.

You mean... the Heisei sizes are back... well...I guess thats cool.

Yep, though I don't really care how big they are so long as they are at least kept consistent throughout the film.

That had nothing to do with scale. The largest G-suit to date was GMK's and that was plenty flexible. The Heisei suits were just about as tall as the Showa suits, only scale was changed. And the "plodding" Heisei Godzilla was more a style choice than anything. Out of character, Satsuma could move with quite a bit of dexterity in those.

Watch the preview. That King Seesar is 100 meters tall. He spin-kicks fine. Remember, this is fantasy.

If Heisei sizes are back then the biggest monster of them all would probably be Mothra or Kaiser Ghidorah. Judging by the size of Rodan in some of those pics him might be up there in size with the other two as well.

I think it probably still be Showa/Millenium sizes, not Heisei size range. Not to take away from the guy who designs the suit, but, I wait until the official word from Toho itself about the monsters stats.

Of course, because Shinichi Wakasa could be wrong. He only built the monsters and was on the set throughout filming of all the kaju fx scenes... how would he know what size they're supposed to be? ;P

King Seesar and Rodan are also 100 meters tall. Kamacuras is 90 meters long. How do I know all this? Because I studied the pictures. Seriously, if you look through them, you'll see little bubbles near some of the pics. Inside two of the new King Seesar and Rodan pics it says plain and clear before the japanese text in the bubble: "100m," and under one of the first Kamacuras pictures it says "90m" in the bubble. Not saying this is entirly true, but judging from the size comparisons of the suits, I wouldn't be suprised if ALL of the bipedal monsters in this movie are the same size.

I was recently at a site that said these kaiju are heisei size. Is this true?

That is what I had heard as well.

Godzilla: Height 100 meters, weight 55,000 tons
Anguirus: Length 160 meters, height 40 meters, and weight 60,000 tons
Rodan: Height 100 meters and, weight 30,000 tons
Mothra: Length 72 meters, weight 25,000 tons
Ebirah: Length 100 meters, weight 50,000 tons
Kamacuras: Length 90 meters, height 40 meters, and weight 20,000 tons
Kumonga: Length 60 meters, height 35 meters, and weight 30,000 tons
Hedorah: Height 120 meters, weight 70,000 tons
King Caesar: Height 100 meters, weight 50,000 tons
Gigan: Height 120 meters, weight 60,000 tons
Monster X: Height 120 meters, weight 60,000 tons

They are not Heisei "size" persay, seeing as they are much lighter than the heisei monsters. Really, the only monster that matches the height of any Heisei version is Godzilla. Rodan and Mothra are bigger than their Heisei versions, and Kaiser Ghidorah is still unknown. Minya too.

Rodan, Mothra, and Kaiser Ghidorah are going to probably be the largest monsters on the film.

They are very very big.
End of question!

and Kaiser Ghidorah is still unknown.
Not so. There was a thread on MZ that had his height or length (?) at 150 meters, and I know that I read it, but because I can't find the thread at the moment, I can't prove my findings. I keep looking though.

Ah, so he'll be the same size as Heisei Ghidorah? Well, at least height wize. He does look to be quite a bit larger than Godzilla himself.

You know what? I just realized something. Besides Anguirus, Rodan, Mothra, and Kumonga (and Monster X, since there was no "young" Ghidorah until the Mothra trilogy), all the monsters are the heights that Toho may have made them if they appeared in the Heisei series, depending on if they continued to use the x2 factor they did with Godzilla. All the other monsters (and Rodan, but he was shortened to 70 meters in the Heisei series) are twice the size of their Showa counterparts, just like Heisei Godzilla...

So Godzilla is the size of the 91-95 version but his weight is that of the 84 & 89 version.

Sweet. Gigan is 120. I can't wait for his stats and the film to come out so we can use him in KK and the DD tournies. That will be great.
