I'm thinking we had a topic on this but I can't immediately find it...
Toho also did war films told from the Japanese viewpoint, which can be quite interesting in several aspects, including the tremendous miniatures and spx work.
The Battle of the Japan Sea - about the Russo-Japanese War.
The Grand Fleet (aka The Imperial Navy) - about the Japanese Navy during WW II.
And since these were TOHO films, you'll see many of the great actors we've come to appreciate for their kaiju eiga work playing in them. :)
