Hiya everyone. Its me Juan, formerlly called Obi-Juan82. I was wondering, its been a long time since I was able to come here and I wanted to know... what the hecks been happening? Though I have looked around and I loooove the new look, I wanted to know if there have been any real developments in anything? Basically, how y'all been? Has there beem anything cool? Any strange events? In any case, I want to assure you that I'm ok. Are you?
In any case, glad to be back and back to write again!
Have a nice day :) !
Hey, welcome back Obi! It has been a little strange without you around to give us write-ups about comic book characters. Always enjoyed your imput on them (even if I will forever disagree with you on Darkseid ;)) and looking forward to seeing your returning posts.

I wish there was crying with joy emoticon! :sniff:
It means a lot to me to see that so many of you cared and are glad to have me back among you! As for what happened to me while I was "missing in action" there's a neat story behind it. Y'see, even though I am a bit of a geek, I'm dumber than rocks when it comes to computers. I had a terrible time trying to get back. I tried E-Mailing from the computer of a buddy of mine (whom I will affectionatly call Dr Electrode) and asking the admistration for help but it didn't work out.
I decided that I needed the time to write the Monster Wars (my sweet little epic, feel free to read it; its under my first name, Obi-Juan) and so I laid low. If you're interested, I am half a chapter (though a very big chapter) away from the end of book two. As for Book Three, I already have it so planned out that its gonna be a breeze. I will soon be done and once more, I am glad to be among you.
G'day all of you, and may the Lord watch over you. God bless Kaijuphile!
PS: Welcome on board King Gordy!

Welcome back Obi-juan!
It was really weird not having you around for so long, but now you're back! Looking forward to your excellent comic book write-ups soon, and of course, Monster Wars! Oh, while you were not around, some members got banned, and the GFW Forum became rife with tension. Glad that's over [ I think now ]. :)
Oh, I think this might work as a 'crying with joy' emoticon ---> :snivel:

W00T! Obi's back, folks! You were sorely missed 'round here!
Anyways, besides what Melkor's already mentioned (and that's about the most interesting it's been as of late), well, lessee...
Morgoth's finally started Godzilla vs. Deutalios with two chapters, and it's looking to be a damn good fic. Though you probably found it already...
Hedorah's the champ of DD3 (I don't know if you left before then or not...).
There's also been an endless stream of "follow-up-on-the-post-above-yours-somehow" threads in this forum.
And there's been a ton of goings-on about GFW (besides the Great Forum Wars which are no doubt raging on as we speak), like photoshopped pics and beautiful new Kaiju suits for the movie.
Other than that, really not much. I guess some of the hottest topics going on at the moment are the two pertaining to a certain recent franchise crossover, but I really wouldn't know that as that's really the only place I've been hanging out at as of late.:p
And welcome back, KM. Unfortunately, I don't believe we've ever met...

Yeah, it's me. My old account was disabled or something, in anycase it won't allow me to use it anymore. I suppose this is probably a bad thing, me coming back and all, especially since I've pissed off more than my fair share of people, but I'm trying to do better, I really am. :(
I just hope this "stunt" doesn't get you banned...your responses can be funny as hell at times... Anyway, don't worry, I also came back after pissing a reasonable number of members off...and I still might be...but I don't care that much ;) j/k

Thanks for the approval, Jet...now, whether Roostville's general populace will be so enthused about my return is another matter entirely (especially Bagoth & Zereatul, who now have to deal with two Angs). Whether the Geeky One(TM) has what it takes to keep his new post-or gets puppeteered by the remaining Dark Lords-remains to be seen (though the latter seems more likely).
I do note that the Were-Kaiju(R) phenomenon has proliferated in my abscence (Angillis, Battrarules, etc.), so perhaps a bit of old-school clashing (provided Uber finds/makes the time) will be instructive on both ends.
If anyone needs me, I'll be off inflicting merry atomic hell upon Lord K's latest quest...among other things.

Mr. Parker- Oh, I've been checking up on the RF stuff...and to be frank, am astonished the Lizardgeek's doing so well. I can just imagine the carnage once RV vs. RF hits...Geek vs. (or worse, allied with) Geek.
Kiryu G- Glad you enjoyed that addendum...part of my insidious plot to mellow-out them cranky critters through the art of Matchmaking(TM)!
Blue Devil- Good to see you're still at it, dude. Hopefully, between us we'll get things on track (and kick up some old-school lunacy).

Anyhow, there's a lot to catch up on, but tomorrow night is free for the Geeky One. Stay tuned...

Good to hear from you guys as well. Now, I'm only human (sort of), so I'm afraid this time around, I'll have to pace myself. There's simply too much spiffy stuff, and too little time in an evening or twelve. Never fear, however, for I plan on a schedule of sorts:
Mondays- Roost Fighter(R); since Demon Eyes Parker has the vast majority of characters and storylines well mapped-out, I anticipate mostly indulging in Arcade Mode(R) matchups and the odd bit of character-"enhancing" suggestion for Lizardgeek.
Tuesdays- Crimson Battlefield; I'd enjoy re-introducing the Were-Goji stable, as well as my rather 'offbeat' approach to combat (half the time, Uber allied with his foes). Their profiles still exist on the ProBoards(TM) page Raptor set up, and shall be transferred here & expanded (hopefully within this weekend).
Wednesdays- Godzilla: the Revised Series; yet another archived ProBoards(R) project c/o Raptor's generosity. For this one, I'll start out slow, standardizing existing critter profiles (which can still be modified with suggestions). Once that's done, I'll try similar profiles for major human (or subhuman) characters/organizations.
Wednesdays- Roostville; I'll have to start out by working through existing threads where the Geekspawn & Co. play a part. From there, I'll have to start suggesting plot developments/repair, possibly at the same time (easier than it sounds, believe me).
Thursdays- See above.
Fridays- See above.
Saturdays- General Discussion Time- the odd Kaiju Karnage bout, CB profile advice, etc. shall be duly considered.
Sundays- Brainstorming for the above projects; I may devote a thread or two to that.
In addition, PMs shall be responded to as they arrive, and I'll most likely be busy with the Kaiju Fight Club(TM) in late November. However, that wraps up (relatively) early in the evening, so it shouldn't muck up the 'shedule' too much. If necessary, I'll shuffle things around depending on their priority.
Ah, and I hope to get to know our newer members. Any questions?

Also, in the last part of RVTS Ep. 1: Revenge of Apocalypse Part 1, (http://www.kaijuphile.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3086) Jet Jaguar is planning to consult with Uber about all the weird stuff going on. It isn't mentioned but you should have OFFICIALLY been sworn in as Mayor by now as THE SERIES unfolds in 2017, two years after the latest "mainline" tale, SEPARATION OF DESUTOROIA: Desutoroia X Khandejifer! (http://roostville.kaijuphile.com/SeparationDes.html).
Your Guardian powers might come in handy, along with Yuri Manda's so THAT "new development" could come into play. Lord K has an "outline" in mind for THE SERIES so feel free to PM/email him for further details.
I'm thinking we should go for a rather sinister, mysterious and ominous tone, especially early in the run, building toward a spectacular (no doubt, considering the very imaginative writing we've seen in the past year!) wrap-up! :D

Feel free to contribute any ideas to RF, Uber. There's still a long ways to go before I even write RF Alpha 2 & 3, so as you might expect, a lot of aspects are still being worked out (even now I'm toying around with a number of ideas for these stories). Some of the stuff that appears or will appear in the stories is requested by fans (although most of these suggestions get rejected because they're unintelligent or flawed story-wise - however, I trust you could come up with ideas that are just the opposite of those), so if you have any concerns, suggestions, etc., get ahold of me.
Also, to any mods or admins: Why just relegate this thread to such a small (and virtually ignored, as far as I can tell) board as this? Why not move it to General Chat?
Thanks, Mr. Parker...I'll be sure to do so. As for bugging the Mods to move this thread...c'mon, I'm not that special.
Anzila, right back at you with the hug, and great to know you're not (totally) off your spiky shell. Having read your post(s) in AFTERMATH, I'd say you're off to a fine start...and hopefully my next Overwrought Post o' Doom(TM) keeps things rolling.
Bagoth, good to hear that RPG is still on, and thanks for the link; however, there's simply a great deal already on my plate. I will have to check over there and see what carnage hath transpired.
Off to Roost Fighter(C), hopefully to enlighten (or at least catch up on the combat)!

"Cheesy"? Not in the least bit! With all the commercialism flooding the air this time of year, I get to wondering just how "plastic" so many people's lives have come to be. THEY are the ones who so often want to alienate their fellow man, not support projects that will benefit the community as a whole or share the bounty of their good fortune.
On a city message board, someone was bemoaning the fact they had to go to a neighboring city to eat at a particular restaurant chain because our town is too small to justify them building one here. DUH! That bill and expenses would have gone much farther supporting the Harvest Time food ministry or such and filled more than just two bellies for one night.
What concerns me is that there are a lot of resources available, bought and paid for, that those in need of them are unaware of for various reasons. Sure, we take the Internet and computers for granted like it used to be with the radio and telephone. It's a vital RESOURCE nowadays, to the extent that the USDA Rural Development program is promoting broadband like the country did with electricity. The goal? Better health care and education for smaller population centers - sharing the wealth for an even greater good. We don't call it the "information super highway" for nothing but everything needs to CONNECT - pulling off at the exit every so often and putting all these things to work in your own home town. REAL "community development" IMO, not the gussied up Chamber of Commerce economics versions we all too often see with their fancy buildings and "WELCOME TO WEEVIL!" signs. And you can bet the biggest one is by the Interstate, not down 61 toward the rest of the county and out by the "west end" of town.
Reaper is a SURVIVOR. You probably won't hear that word mentioned at the local community action agency board meeting because they're having to deal with MORE THAN ONE person or family in need of just the basics. Unlike with the Japanese kobans, these well intentioned folks haven't been door to door twice a year to make sure everyone is "doing OK" - has enough to eat, the roof hasn't caved in and they're not in need of medical treatment. Who REALLY looks out for folks and makes a lot of immediate needs referrals? Cops, medics, train crews and concerned citizens. There is nothing sadder than when help is too late coming. It being winter doesn't help in the least bit because the elements can quickly sap physical and mental function. Being in a weakened state (health or resources) to begin with, the odds get worse and they might not be around to even think about rebuilding their lives.
Yes, life has gotten more complicated with such handy little "catches" as often incomprehensible "needs based" screenings, sometimes rampant "welfare fraud" and even peer pressure but there are outfits and individuals who cut through the clutter and bureauocracy - the REAL "safety net", often established at the community level and not even receiving government funding.
Speaking of which, it's always a good idea to have some reserves of your own tucked away; a cushion to break the fall if things do get tripped up and that "material world" goes super nova. ;) Be ready to help yourself so you can assist a neighbor in need. Now THAT is the greatest gift one can give this holiday season!

I have been gone since shortly after the board crashed and the ongoing stories/non-kaiju fights were removed to save space.
But now, I am back.
You all should remember me..............
So, uh, what's new, is GFW as bad as I have read (I mean, c'mon, does Goji really dispatch monsters in less then 5 minutes?)? Are most of the regulars still here?

Welcome back, Gamingboy!
I'm sure you already know by now about the interesting direction Roostville is in, hopefully you can get back into it asap. Uh, Ubergeek also returned briefly, but because of college he's rarely here anymore. And since I haven't seen GFW, I can't tell if it's really that bad, but I do know that this film's GOji is probably the most powerful incarnation yet. :)
Peace,

I know I already posted this at the "other KP" (mods/admins if you see a problem with this thread please by all means take it down) but I thought I would post it at real KP to let the rest of you know that Evil is back. I've taken my vacation and am ready to get back into kaiju. I would also like to take this moment to say that I'm sorry for past occurences where I have been spammish/nOObish. Hey everyone! For those of you who noticed I was gone, I am back! To refresh your memory, I left for basic training about 4 months ago, and graduated about a month ago. Since then I have been at my AIT (advanced individual training). This is where the army trains me to do my army job ( I am a medic). And now I am allowed to use computers and I have wireless internet, so I can access the net.
p.s. For those of you thinking about joining the army, being a 91W (medic) is by far the hardest job, so beware!

Greetings all!
After almost a whole year of being away from KP, I finally found the time (in what little spare moments I have left-- college is a *****) to log on. Suffice to say, it hasn't been an entirely good year. As I seem to vaguely recall posting before, I had a lot of issues I had to deal with; foremost among these were the deaths of several of my relatives, who were all very dear to me. Second, the demands of tertiary education, while not necessarily worse than HS, are stressing me to the point of lunacy. Finally, my mom had to battle cancer-- this episode left me depressed for a very long time. She won that battle, by God.
My brother is in the seminary now, the first step in his lifelong dream of being a priest. I am very close to my brother, so while I encourage him to follow his dreams, it wasn't easy for me to let go (esp. since I'll have no one to bully now hahaha). Also, my dad's new job proved to be very exciting for us all; I got to visit places I'd never even dreamed of, exploring Southeast Asia, and even coming to Egypt and the Holy Land. Needless to say, it was a very fulfilling experience!
I look forward to spending more time in KP soon. I apologize to the members, and my fellow Admins, for my prolonged absence. Rest assured, I'll do my best to show up more often! :D

Not many know I left back in October. You see, I decided to move to San Francisco to focus on my writing and to live on my own. Call it an experiment, one I'm quite pleased with thus far. This month I started accessing the internet about as much as I used to. It's not a good connection as some of my friends on MSN can attest to. ;)
But since I've gotten a lot of work done, I have more free time. So I can once again return to my normal routine of surfing the web, chatting, and having a good time.
I have a funny short story to tell:
You see, I currently live with this nice Vietnamese family. I have two roommates. One's a part of the family. I rarely see him. Nice guy though, we have good chats whenever we run into the other. It's a good place because I have access to a private kitchen and bathroom. There's one problem. You see, I didn't know this until a month after moving in, but I have to share said kitchen and bathroom with my other roommate. Okay, not a big deal. I'd normally agree. But I didn't know who he was until a month later. And wow, it's certainly been an amusing, crazy ride. When I say crazy, I mean it literally. He's an old, crazy man. Believe me, I didn't expect to have an 'old' roommate. I also didn't expect him to be mentally deranged. You see, he never liked sharing the bathroom. A few times a month, he'd throw a fit whenever I used it. Whenever I tried talking to him, he ignored me. Talked to the owners, found out he's 'mental'. A few days ago, he snapped. In short: he lost it, started threatening me, I called the cops, and he was severely warned (I wish I recorded this part because it was both funny and sad). There's a chance he'll be kicked out or move away on it own accord. Until then, I'll have to be on my guard at all times. The police told me to call them again should he do anything. Personally, I think they want to come back to arrest him because he pissed them off with his ignorance. I also found out his son makes all the decisions for him. Yes, I'll have to send my regards to him for dumping his psychotic father in this overall nice environment.
So the next time you have roommate problems, ask yourself: did you ever have it this bad? :p
Still, I've enjoyed my stay. It's been successful. February will be my last month before I go back to begin the hunt (i.e. sell screenplays, make films, and have a blast).
It's good to be back!

I suppose the WGA strike is either a good opportunity or really bad timing from your standpoint Tom?
I've been pondering this for months. I see it as both an advantage and disadvantage. On one hand, it can open up a new window of opportunities, ones that weren't there before. On the other, it might be harder to get my foot in the door. I'm still not entirely sure, though. Guess there's one way to find out.
Thanks for the welcome, guys!
Tomzilla
February 2nd, 2008, 02:50 PM
I really don't know if you want to be a scab, Tom. There's a reason why not too many people are going that route, because the WGA will pretty much put you on the **** list and then when they settle, you're screwed.
In fact, I'm not sure any studio is even hiring them.
Oh no, I didn't mean it that way. I was thinking more about what happens after the strike. I should've clarified that. Sorry for the confusion. :music:
I wasn't planning on trying to pitch/sell scripts during the strike. So it's not interfering with my plans. If I was, then I would've gone with Clint's 'bad timing' choice. There are still ways I can be successful without becoming blacklisted by the WGA, such as winning contests or working on Indie productions. But until this strike ends, I'm not going to try and worm my way in. I'd prosper only in a short term sense. Afterwards, it's a career ending move. Besides, I support the Writer's Strike. I see no reason to screw 'em over, especially since I might join someday.

OK, I guess I could say I'm officially back now. The tokusatsu thread I've been frequenting doesn't know me very well, and judging by the unexpected amount of replies to my comment on the "members you miss" thread, it seems that a whole lotta people missed me around, at least more people than I expected (Morgoth of all people remembered me :p ). Hola Roost! Er, at least I think it's Rodan's Roost?
I am Peacemaker! I used to visit this site religiously back in the day! I remember checking this place almost daily after school, and nearly every day during the summer and such. It was such a huge part of my life; I just wanted to check out how things are going now.
I still keep in contact with guys like Jimi, Metal Zombie (or Brett), and RJ (Spinosaurus RJ) here and there. I've just been browsing around and seen so many familiar faces in topics. I was just wondering if anyone actually remembers me?
I used to go by "Mave" from time to time. I was a big fan of Gigan, and I was pretty fond of the video game boards. I was really big into GDAMM for the Gamecube back in the day.
It's been many years, and I've always taken a piece of this place with me. I'm a Kaiju fan through and through to this day, and I dedicate a lot of my knowledge to this place.

Ah! Thanks for the replies guys!
As for the giant monster projects? I welcome them with open arms! Brett (Metal Zombie) and I were at the premiere of Cloverfield the night it opened in our city. We both loved it, ESPECIALLY the theme that played during the credits! It's great to hear giant monster themes again! That song was such a throwback to all the old giant monster movies that we grew up watching.
And Guilala? I love the trailer so much! I love seriously it's taken, yet they're using the old suit and everything. There's something so fitting about it.
What else did I miss? Well, I love Godzilla Unleashed on the Wii despite it's bad reviews, and King Kong from Peter Jackson was a nice little flick. Actually, it was a great little flick.

LOL, I don't know how much of the "good ol' days" they were, but I did love my time here. Cool sig, BTW. Anyone with Gigan is cool with me.

What do you mean you keep contact with me "sometimes here and there?" You came and bothered me at work yesterday!
Kidding. I'm feeling the nostalgia myself...

You know, at first I thought I'd just log back in for kicks, but now, looking at everything again, I think I might stick around for a while.
I'm just enjoying my summer right now getting ready for college in the fall, but I need to fulfill my Kaiju needs again. It's been so long since I've been around Godzilla and Gamera and Kaiju fans alike. I feel a bit rusty with my knowledge, to be honest.
I guess the most recent purchase I've made involving Godzilla at all was a DVD of the late 90's cartoon based off GINO, but I loved the three episodes that were featured. One had the Loch Ness Monster, one had some Psychic Electric power, and I don't remember the other. LOL, I realize that's a bit off topic.
I'm pretty overwhelmed, to be honest. Seeing all these familiar faces makes me feel like seeing old friends, and seeing all the new members makes me happy that this place lives on.

Jebus Crustmuffin, you're back. You'd probably remember me as Kato Yasunori from back in the day; we had some damn good times, IIRC. It's nice to see an old friend around these parts after so many years.

I remember you too, although it's been like 5 or 6 years since I last saw you online, LOL. You always got the best gifts on Christmas if I remember correctly. And MZ of course, who could forget him? Welcome back guys! Wow, I feel so freaking old .

I'm not actually sure where to post this, I thought there was a sticky about returning members at one point but either I'm blind, am not remembering correctly, or it's been removed. Either way, I'm back, this is my second post since August of last year. My life started to go into a downward spiral a good while before that. A loved one died, I got into drugs, I dropped out of university and became suicidal. That was about two years a go. After that incident I tried to turn my life around, however I was still miserable, lonely, and I felt incomplete.
So in Feb I got a job at telemarketing and started to save up for a trip. At the time I didn't know where I would be going or anything, just that I needed the money. In August of last year I also won $5000 dollars from the lottery, and I decided it was time that I take off. After saying my good byes I headed on a plane to Europe. I stayed there, backpacking here and there, for nine months. I spent the time backpacking, meeting people, seeing the sites, etc. It was great. I saw almost everywhere that I wanted. London, Paris, Madrid, Rome, even Cairo...I found my spark, my reason to live, and I for the first time in years I enjoyed myself.
Now I'm back in North America, and I've found a lot of things have changed since I've been gone, some of my family members aren't talking to each other, Kaijuphile got a facelift, I have a new niece, etc....but for the first time in my life I feel that I have a purpose, and I have a solid direction in which I'm going to take myself. And now here I am, back at kaijuphile almost a year has gone by....it's gone so quickly.

Damn, I don't know what to say to that. Except for the drugs part, I went through something very similar, and I still don't know how to console others who have gone through the same crap. I'm glad you're doing better, though.

You have my sympathies, Aragorn. I can't say I've been through everything you have (and it's not fair to compare one person's tough breaks to another's), but a few things you've been through have touched a note of familiarity with me.
Anyways, it's wonderful to have you back, and you're back just in time for the Desumacchi! IIRC, you always did put up a good debate and write a good fight recap... ;)

WHY HELLO THAR.
Well, I'd like to start with a somewhat clean slate. I was immature and had a indescribably odd sense of humor. But now, I'm more or less the usual internet type. I'm more "mature" I guess, but have more of humor related to things like memes and 4chan and such. Anyways, my explanation for my absence isn't as bad as Aragorn_Strider's. It's more like I left you guys for a different woman. I got sucked into the wondrous world of VALVe, and then Garry's Mod. Which all lead to joining the Facepunch Forums and utterly leaving Kaijuphile. As you can see, there is no shortage of time for me to do things, and why I left is a complete mystery. Seriously, I've spent so much time on games like Team Fortress 2 that my most kills in one life is over 200.
Anyways, I plan on visiting more often, but I might fall out every now and then.

Hey guys. Been a while huh? Over a month since I last been on here... I kinda needed a internet break. Kinda burned myself out with all the stuff lately... Speaking of which, sorry about the SSS guys, I really didn't mean to abandon it like that.
The break was nice though. If people are still interested, I will continue where it is left off. But in any case, anyone miss me, or did everyone throw a party while I was gone? XD

As for the CF, I will post ASAP. Been waiting for that to be revived... As for SSS, I would like more help than I have been getting from people. I now know how Seer feels during the DD and makes me appreciate his work even more since I find it down right exhausing to run these tournies and the DD is even more complex than the SSS. XD
