Dunno D-G. I bought mine for about $30 at Suncoast about a year to a year and a half ago. And Suncoast is usually the more expensive one. But I think Tristar wanted the prices upped. When you look at the last 3 Godzilla DVDs they have released, they have been around $25. And they have no extras!!!! And with 2 Godzilla films on one disc, I think Tristar contacted all the retailers that sell their DVDs and told them to up it up. That's the only reason I could come up with as to why they prices were raised. Cause most stores that sell DVDs would be more than happy to sell their Godzilla movies for about $5 since they usually buy more stock than they can sell.

I wouldn't wait too terribly long. Those double-feature Godzilla DVDs are getting harder and harder to find.

? You really think Sony contacted every retailer in the country and told them to raise prices on an old DVD? Sorry, it doesn't work that way.

I don't know for sure but there are a few other possibilities. Some retailers mark up discs that are out of print, so maybe that's what happened here (You even said "Those double-feature Godzilla DVDs are getting harder and harder to find."). Or maybe the store Desu-Goji went to just charges too much. I bought the DVD in 1998 for under $20. A few weeks later I was in Virgin Megastore and they were selling the same disc for $39.99. These overinflated prices are nothing new...

<font color='#000080'>$34.99??? That's crazy! Don't go buy these DVDs at stores, order online! DVDEmpire.com has this and the Gvs SG/ G vs D double disks for 15.99 each! Plus, buy three DVDs and get free shipping! I just bought G vs M/ G vs KG, Gvs SG/ G vs D, AND Godzilla vs Mothra(Showa) for $40! So, for $5 more, I got 3 more movies. Always look online first.

The only problem I have sometimes with buying online is that you may pay more or about the same price as would if you went to the store to pay tax. S&H can really break ya sometimes.

You're kidding me! I got both the GvsKG/G&M:BFE and GvsSpaceG/GvsDes double feature DVDs for about $16 each, at Suncoast no less, just a half a year ago! What's goin' on that these DVDs are getting so expensive now?!?

Apparently not. since Sony is advertising it on the inserts that come with the recent Godzilla DVDs like GMK.
Yeah whats up with that. I was pretty sure that it was OOP but I guess not since they are still promoting it on the inserts in NEW godzilla movies.

Where I'm from, anyways, those double feature discs are very hard to come by. One day you may see SG/Des then the next day it's gone and KG/Mothra is there. Can't keep up with it.

"Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah/Godzilla & Motha: BFE"
On Amazon.com, a few months back in 2003, they listed this DVD as being rereleased in October in Widescreen. Well, is it in Widescreen? I know it was originally released in full frame.

Well I have been looking for this dvd for awhile but havent had luck. The last place I will check is at Suncoast tommorow at my dads mall(I go there every other week and the mall by my mom doesnt have a suncoast) If it isnt there I will no longer look for the dvd. If I get it and it's not a Suncoast it will be from ebay or something even though I dont wont to get anything online anymore. But if the movie isnt at the Suncoast at the mall it will be most likely the last time I look for the movie. Wish me luck......................I want it bad. I'll post back on here Sunday night to let you know if I got it.

I mean it sucks that none of my stores (BestBuy/Borders) have the movie. I saw the movie at BestBuy like 3 years ago and had money to get it but was like nahhhh I'll get it latter. Now am having really really REALLY big trouble trying to find the thing.

Could you buy it online? Deep Discount DVD and Amazon both have it, at pretty good prices (better than you could get in a store like Best Buy or Suncoast).

^ I do try to convince my mom to buy movies online but she doesnt want to anymore. I used to all the time. Does Suncoast usually have the movie at the store?

A little heads up: The DVD sucks.
The dubbing is some of the worst I have heard, right up with the Showa Gamera films. The print is quite bad as well, very grainy and low-quality.
If you really want these movies, go get Toho's Region 2 releases. If not, then go ahead and this, as its the best Region 1 disc I've seen, and thats not saying much.

^ I disagree personally. I didn't find much difference from the VHS version to the DVD version, except they are different devices themselves. I found the picture and everything else to be the same as it was on the VHS versions. So if you have teh VHS versions, that's what you are gonna be seeing.

I've known about the VHS versions, but never got them. So maybe that's where I'm skewered.

Just got back from my dads. Well I went to Suncoast yesterday not knowing what to expect. I had trouble finding the SciFi section but finally found it LOL. I found the Godzilla movie section and the second movie behind Godzilla KOTM was the movie I was looking for. YES I got it. It was only $20.00 + tax which isnt all that bad.

I just got done watching "Godzilla vs King Ghidorah". I thaught it was fine, maybe the only thing I didnt like was that it was fullscreen. I dont see the need of buying a new Godzilla vs King Ghidorah dvd is Sony re releases it again. I'll watch Godzilla/Mothra: BFE this weekend.

For future reference, Suncoast does do special orders. So next time you go there and they don't have what you're looking for, ask them to order it for you.
Heh, but don't take the ordering or arriving soon part for granted. I waited 3 months for Rebirth of Mothra 1/2 from them, finally gave up waiting, and bought my first item on ebay.

Indeed. If Suncoast doesn't have it in stock, I check other places. I remember way back before DVDs became the big thing, they said they could special order the VHS version of Godzilla Vs. Hedorah. Waited a month and then they called saying they couldn't get it anymore. Their special order program, IMHO, is very lousy.

I know I wont do special orders from Suncoast then. How about Borders Special Order program. I once did a Special Order from Borders on Tenchi Muyo Gxp volume 5, but I did that 2 days after it's release date. So how is Borders with harder to find dvd's if you do Special Order?
kent
January 14th, 2005, 05:13 PM
Couldn't tell you on that one. I special ordered Godzilla and the Lost Continent several times and everytime they said their computers showed it was at their warehouse and it would come in about week. Well, both times I got a note saying the publisher never released the title. But that was with a book but I have had no other troubles with them on books. Never tried movies but I would trust Borders a lot more than the crappy program Suncoast has.

Just got done watching GaM:BFE and found the movie to be very enjoyable. It wasnt all that diffrent from the vhs version but I still found it good. I am very happy I found the Double Feature of these two movies from Tristar.
