Needless to say, the creators of Gamera 3 took a very anime approach to the kaiju film. I myself am curious as to how it affected the opinions of the viewers. Please take some time to take a vote.

I'll be blunt- I like some anime, but the vast majority makes me want to break things.

Gamera 3, while technically a well-assembled film, suffered, to my mind, becuase of the anime-ness that was injected into it.

My favorite scene? Gamera blasting Gyaos, heedless of the carnage he's inflicting upon humankind. Kaiju gold. And one of the least "anime" moments in the movie.

Eh, some anime is good, some is bad (just like EVERYTHING else). Sence I like more anime then I don't like, I'll say both.

I'd say I'm an anime fan, though what I've watched generally relates to robots and such (The Guyver, Gundam Wing, etc). But I don't think anime had too much influence on why G3 became one of my favorite films. Actually, I didn't really think about G3's "anime influence" until I read some of the opinions on the message boards. It does seem to fit together though, particularly with Irys' design.

There's also the sheer angstiness of Ayana and the mood in general.

I am not really an anime fan but I do watch it once in a blue moon. With that said, I still think G3 is one of the better kaiju films of all time.

I don't by any means consider myself as an anime fan, though I like the animation and some anime shows, but very little and almost never see them. Gamera 3 though is one of my top five favorite kaiju flicks, and should be (if not already) on an offical top two list. I did find the movie and more so the cast very anime-ish, especially the two bad guys which seem like real-life knock-offs of Pokemon's Team Rocket (which I find funny, though I hate Pokemon). So, natually I voted for the thrid choose.

I am an anime fan and I love G3. Not just one of my favorite monster movies, one of my favorite movies of all time.

Eh I watch some anime and while I did enjoy G3, I don't consider it one of my favorite Gamera or monster movies in general.

Too many people here would get angry at me if I started one of my infamous anime rants. In other words, anime ain't my cup of tea. Gamera 3 was a very good film, one of my favorites in fact. I honestly only saw mild anime-reminding things in the film, which was tolerable for me.

By all means, please rant away. I find it fascinating to know why people like/don't like particular genres etc.

Well, I like anime, I've been watching it since the 1960's,a show called "Marine boy" was what started me on it.I thought G3 was an excellant film, the beginning battle was breath taking, but it's not my favorite Gamera film. And really other than Iyrs' design, I didn't think it to be that much like an anime at all.But if it was heavily enfluinced by anime , then it's too bad Toho hasn't followed Gamera's lead. All the Millenium films have more or less just sucked in the story department.

Hmm.. Well, I'm not one of these huge Anime fans, if it is on, I will watch it (as there is't much else late Saturday nights). And, I did enjoy G3 immensly, though I wouldn't say it is one of my favorites, mainly becase I don't have a list, but if I did, I would say it would be up tere in pure rewatchability.

I like anime and all, I'm not a huge fan of it, but I still find some of it acceptable, and I am a huge fan of the Gamera Series.

I don't think they go hand in hand though. I never really realized their connections until I saw some of the people here ranting about it. I simply like the Gamera trilogy because it shows that you can have good Kaiju films without having to get campy.
