Is there a time limit in these tournaments? The reason I ask is because Dante seems to be in no hurry to play in the tournament, despite the fact that I have mentioned it to him more than once, and the rest of us are just waiting and waiting for him to play.

Wiz, how about you lay off of him? You've done nothing but hound him about it for the past week, not everyone has the time to idly sit around and play games.

I have mentioned it a couple times, as I stated. And what's this about him not having time to do it? What are you guys doing every morning before school? And in third period? Oh, and sometimes AP and Spanish? If he just doesn't feel like it, that's one thing. But don't make up false excuses for him. If there is a problem with him getting on a computer to play (which I doubt), he can state that. You don't have to for him.
Shadow

Unlike you Wiz, he has a job, tennis practice, and many advanced classes (which come with, you guessed it, homework). Some of us don't get a lot of free time. I do the same things as him (except for a job [at the moment] and tennis practice [but with my chores, I might as have]). So don't be trying to tell me that everyone has time to play a game in a tournament.
Wiz

Considering I have SEEN him on KP plenty of times, I think I know that he has the time. Also, his last activity was today at 11 something, so I know he was on then. I know that you guys get on during school, so don't give me that "he doesn't have time". And once again, why are you defending him? I think he is capable of doing that himself.
Shadow

You seem perfectly content attacking him when he's not here to take up for himself. I doubt he knows this conversation is going on. Until he comes here to stick up for himself, I'll continue.
Yes, he was on at 11 today, during accounting, for about five minutes, until our teacher started teaching and we paid attention (you know, the thing you are supposed to do at school). He assigned us some work, we did it, and then left to go to the next class.

Yeah, there's about six of us on here who go to the same school. It comes in handy...sometimes...

And Wiz-master, where did you play your last few games? You played them at home right. I have other things I do that takes up my time. I don't have time at home to play games everyday.
And posting is a different thing. I can post at school and not have any problem. Playing games on these computers is tough considering their massive slowdown and we aren't supposed to play games at school.

And thus, my points have been backed up by fact. Wiz, Dante just reiterated exactly what I've been telling you, so do you now understand?
Gorjirus

we aren't supposed to play games at school.
Actually, we are not allowed to play games in the Library and in the Computer Lab during class time.
Playing games on these computers is tough considering their massive slowdown
That is only on the Accounting Computers, not th ones in Ms. Mather's room.

Don't make assumptions unless you know they are true. The last time I played a game at home was a long time ago, and the last game in the tournament I played at home was in the first round of the tournament. So there goes that.
And posting is a different thing. I can post at school and not have any problem. Playing games on these computers is tough considering their massive slowdown and we aren't supposed to play games at school.
Really? I wonder why that was never an issue when you played games at school before? Hm?
Now, I don't like to keep argueing about this. It was not my intention to start a big fight over this. I complained because I felt a simple 2 minute game shouldn't take almost two weeks (or more) to finish. That is my opinoin, and if I am wrong in it, than I will be told so my a mod. or admin. Not you two.
Now can we end this stupid arguement?
Dante
March 9th, 2005, 08:17 AM
The last time I played a game at home was a long time ago, and the last game in the tournament I played at home was in the first round of the tournament.
You told me to my face that you played the last game at home, the one you scored over 100 with. Did I just misunderstand you, I wonder?
Actually, we are not allowed to play games in the Library and in the Computer Lab during class time.
Wouldn't English and Accounting be class time.
That is only on the Accounting Computers, not th ones in Ms. Mather's room.
These aren't much better.
Now can we end this stupid arguement?
I never wanted an arguement in the first place. I just came in and low and behold I find you complaining about me not playing. It will get done, don't worry about it.
Gorjirus
March 9th, 2005, 08:23 AM
Wouldn't English and Accounting be class time.
Yes, but you did not read me right. I said the Computer Lab. As in, the Computer Lab, not Ms. Mather's room or Mr. Dawson's room. The Computer Lab, as in the one downstairs that Ms. Banks is in.
These aren't much better.
These are fine. They play the arcade games just fine.
You told me to my face that you played the last game at home, the one you scored over 100 with. Did I just misunderstand you, I wonder?
If you read the conversation correctly (though it is loikely that you simply skiped over it, a simple mistake), you would see that Shadow said games, to which Wiz said no, which would be true, since we see him play games everyday here before school.

To add to what Gorjirus said, when I told you I scored 100, I was talking about the 175 that I scored in the first round, which I believe I said, but maybe not.
And, as Gorjirus said, there is nothing wrong with Ms. Mather's computers. The only computers in the whole school that aren't right are Mr. Dawson's computers.

Wiz, He gets to school shortly before the bell rings. And in English, we don't have time to do other things, that is of course, if you don't care about your grade.
Wiz
March 10th, 2005, 07:37 AM
I don't want to carry this arguement on further, but I must correct you. He usually gets to school at 7:35am, and gets in the classroom at 7:40; that's twenty minutes before the bell. Try again.
I know you have work to do in english, but I've seen you guys on before in that class. But that is besides the point. I don't think you should go on during class if you don't have time, but there is enough time before school. Now, again, may we leave it at that?
Shadow
March 10th, 2005, 07:53 AM
Incase you haven't noticed the bell does not ring at 8 o' clock on the dot. Try again.
Wiz
March 10th, 2005, 08:25 AM
Um, yes, yes it does. A bell rings at 7:50am to indicate you can go to class, but class doesn't start until 8:00am, and at 7:59am a warning bell sounds to let you know you have one minute left to get to class, and finally, at 8:00 another bell rings to let you know it is time for class to start.
Shadow
March 10th, 2005, 08:29 AM
But you said:
the classroom at 7:40; that's twenty minutes before the bell.
and now you said:
A bell rings at 7:50am to indicate you can go to class
I was reffering to the bell to go to class.
Why are so intent on getting him to play? Do you not have any patience?
Wiz
March 10th, 2005, 11:16 AM
I do have patience. And I have been waiting patiently for two weeks. It should not take two weeks to complete a simple short tournament. After two weeks of waiting, my patience has started to wear away. I don't understand why you are so worked up about this. You got eliminated from the tournament; this doesn't even effect you. You are getting more upset about my complaint than Dante did! :nonono2:

The only person I see "worked up" around here, happens to be you.
Yeah, I was eliminated, so what? Does that automatically bar me from adding my opinion? I don't see why you care this much about a tournament where there is no prize, or reward. Just sit back and wait for him to play. You are just agitating the situation by demanding that he be disqualified.
Wiz
March 11th, 2005, 07:39 AM
I'm not demanding he be disqualified, I just wanted somthing to be done, even if that something was playing the game. And I'm not getting worked up about this; you are, and for no reason because again, IT DOES NOT CONCERN YOU. Your opinion isn't needed in the matter. I asked someone of authority a question and you jumped in out of nowhere. Now, because I'm not getting worked up about this, and all I did was make a simple complaint, I am dropping this arguement, or whatever you want to call it. You have blown this WAY out of proportion. Since you have refused to stop this conversation even though I asked twice, I am stopping it. If you reply again, I won't reply back.

Wiz, I don't have to stop expressing my opinion.
Now, as I have said before, you seem to be the only one around here getting angry at people, what with your exclamation marks and all capital phrases. So, why don't you cool it off a little?
If you don't wish to reply that is fine. You are entitled to your right to post or not, just like I am (even though you don't think so).
No, I have not blown anything out of proportion. I just stated my opinion, listed some facts, and you took it from there.
Now, if you think you can continue with this discussion in a reasonable way, then please feel free to reply.
I'm not demanding he be disqualified, I just wanted somthing to be done
What do you suggest the penalty be then? Are you going to have Sauron penalize him by not allowing him to play for a few days? What other alternative is there then disqualification? Unless stated otherwise somewhere else, that would most likely be the action taken. So, when you say want something to be done, you are basically saying "I want him disqualified."
Sauron
March 12th, 2005, 10:40 AM
First off, everyone just chill out, it's only a game after all.
Second, next time a player has not played their turn for a few days, let me know by PM next time instead of getting into protracted arguments in the forum. I'll then PM the person with a warning of disqualification if their turn is not played.
In this case, it's been far too long already, so I automatically DQ'd Dante, so Wiz can challenge SpaceHunterM's score for the championship.
Remember, play nice!

Alright, so now we have an official verdict, and a new rule. At least we know what will happen the next time some one wait to long to play their turn. On that same note, Sauron, how long is "too long"? Just wondering...
At any rate, congratulations Wiz. Go finish the tournament. Good luck.
Sauron
March 12th, 2005, 05:10 PM
I think 7 days should be enough time to complete a round. If someone has not completed their 3 turns in 7 days, they will be given a PM to play the round within the next 2 days, failure to do so will result in a DQ.
I'll make a whole KP Arcade Rules topic soon, and pin it here in this forum, so people have concrete rules to go off of in the future.
