Monthly Costs?

I was just curious as to how much it costs to run a site such as Kaijuphile, along with the boards... altogether? If you'd rather keep it private, go ahead and P.M. me. or if you don't want me to know at all, that's fine too lol.

Thats not an easy question to answer, there are alot of things that you have to consider and it's going to be different for every site. Things you would need to pay for are....

Server Space - cost varies depending on how much space and monthly transfer amount, as well as other thing you want. It also varies GREATLY from host to host.

Forums - If you want a good forum then your going to have to purchase one or be stuck with free forums like ProBoards. If you purchase one, they typically only come with 1 or 2 default forum skins. If you want others than you will have to purchase them, which can run anywhere from $20 for a base skin to $300 for a Unique custom skin.

Then there are programs that you might want or need depending on what you are trying to do. So there really isn't a standard amount for a site, it's an accumulation of costs from many various things and will be different for every site.

For just the server costs, about $30 a month. The total amount i've sunk into it, plus all of the money that's been kindly donated over the years is closer to Shawntallica's estimate. Seriously though, it's all worth it.

So do you pay for the RF and RV sites separately from Kaijuphile itself, or are those two already covered by the KP server space and other costs? I'm just interested in learning what the case is.

They are both hosted on the KP server space and don't cost anything extra.
