I had to vote for Reijiroh Koroku, the composer behind the spectacular music in Godzilla 85.  The soundtrack was fresh, original, pounding in terror when necessary, quick and upbeat at other times.  Perfect.

Kohichi Sugiyama comes in a close second for me with his soundtrack for Godzilla vs. Biollante.  Bringing a much more modern sound to Godzilla, the music was very upbeat but still a little creepy at times.  Awesome.

<font color='#0000FF'>My vote goes to Masaru Satoh. His Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla theme was always so powerful to me. It fit the emosion behind the film. Although my fav composer is Akira

You can't beat Godzilla 1985. The music there was very different from other Godzilla films and that helps set it apart. The music was terrifying. To this day, it still gives me the creeps. It made the whole film sem that much more frightning. The other pieces such as Super-X's triumphal march or the sad end music were also just as good.

Koh Atani, got my vote, I love the mothra music, especially since aspects of it are constantly manifesting in the new movies....but I loved Atani's GMK score, I listen to it frequently and it has this nice electronic twist I haven't heard before, and a powerful determination that I enjoy...As well he managed to sneak in wispers of all those classic themes into his score.

<font color='#008080'>I said Masaru Sato. I've always loved his battle theme's for both Son of Godzilla and Godzilla vs Mecha-Godzilla. Though I would have to say that Koh Ohtani's theme for Godzilla in GMK is probably the single greatest piece of movie music ever conducted, even though it starts out with a rip of the Jaws music. I hope Koh Ohtani comes back to do the theme in The Godzilla.

<font color='#32CD32'>Besides Ifukube, I like Michiru Oshima. She had the best non-Ifukube Godzilla theme ever, and did great themes for Megaguirus and Kiryu. The battle theme in GxMG was a great upbeat song, that really got you into the fight. She can also do great with different styles, as show by the first two movies she has done, yet still keeps some simular sounds and themes. Truely, she is the Ifukube of the new century.

<font color='#008080'>There is only one true replacement for Ifikube and that is Koh Otani. He's definately the new &quot;Master of Monster Music&quot; as someone in G-Fan once said. http://www.rodansroost.com/ikonboard/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/kinggojismilie.gif &nbsp;http://www.rodansroost.com/ikonboard/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/gamerasmilie.gif

Reijiro Koroku: Created the music of Godzilla 1985.
Koichi Sugiyama: Created the music of Godzilla vs. Biollante.
Takayuki Hattori: Created the music of Godzilla vs. Spacegodzilla and Godzilla 2000.
Michiru Oshima: Created the music of Godzilla vs. Megaguirus, Godzilla X Mechagodzilla, and Godzilla, Mothra, Mechagodzilla: Tokyo SOS.

That was a hard one; it was between Oshima and Otani. Of course, no one could ever replace Ifukube's scores.:)

<font color='#008080'>Ohtani. Not only is it one of the best Godzilla scores ever, but its also one of the best movie scores period. I'd probably have to go with Masaru Sato as my second choice. Loved his Godzilla vs Kumonga theme &amp; his Mecha-Godzilla vs Anguirus theme. I've always been quite fond of Sato's work. Did you know that he also wrote the lyrics to the I Love Mr. Piccolo song from the DBZ movie The World's Strongest.

<font color='#0000FF'>Otani. I loved his GMK music since the first time I heard it on Scifi. Next would be Sato. Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla has my favorite music from the 70's.

<font color='#FF0000'>Otani for me. The GMK Theme(though quite monotonous)is one of the best scores for a Godzilla movie ever(except for Ifukubes of course). Second would probably be Sugiyama. Loved the Biollante score. Sounded so strange and mystical. http://www.rodansroost.com/ikonboard/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/lookaround.gif

<font color='#000F22'>Kou Otani and Rejiro Koroku. Otani's score was pretty spectacular, my only real complaint was that it didn't include more Ifukube in it, you know, pepper a few scenes with some Ifukube for effect. Koroku's was really quite beautiful, I loved his Godzilla and Super X themes. I wish he had scored more Godzilla films.
If I was in charge of a Godzilla film I'd score it entirely with rock remixes of Ifukube's scores. I'd just hire a new composer to write some temp music.

<font color='#0000FF'>The Super-X theme from Godzilla: 1985 is wonderful. So heroic, so can-do- and then when Godzilla gets back up.... *Shudder*

Oshima and Otani are my top two (I meant to vote for Oshima, but accidently clicked on Otani). I just loved the pounding theme for Godzilla from those films. I also liked Otani's music. It is simple to play, yet sounds great and gives Godzilla a new perspective.

<font color='#32CD32'>My favorite score has to be from &quot;THE RETURN OF GODZILLA&quot;. One of my all time favs. The music is so cool.Any fan of Godzilla must have &quot;THE BEST OF GODZILLA&quot; cd's.I do, and love them.I like to listen to G-85 and G vs Biolante. So cool! http://www.rodansroost.com/ikonboard/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/kinggojismilie.gif

<font color='#810541'>I always have loved the bad guys. One reason is their music themes. They always have the cooler theme, From Darth Vader to Godzilla. I lover the theme from Godzilla 1985
