Before you ask, yes, there are rules. Plenty of rules. Rules with harsher punishments than in the previous tournament. I will spare no one who breaks the basic rules.
---
Ground Rules
1. No voting for teams out of fanboyism or love for them. Votes such as, "Morgoth will win, cuz he is the lord of darkness!!!!" will not be accepted, much less counted. If such behaviour persists throughout the tournament, you may be reported to a Kaijuphile moderator or administrator. If behaviour persists after this, you will be permanently blocked from the Roost Fighter forums.
2. No stat changing once you have been accepted into the tournament. Once you have been accepted entrance into the tournament, you will not be allowed to request the tournament host (Demon Eyes Parker) change any stats you feel are incorrect. You will probably have to wait until the end of the tournament.
3. Votes must be clear, concise, and have good reasoning. Abstain votes are accepted in all matches. However, if you are not abstaining, you MUST come right out and say who you select to be the winner of a match; vaguely hinting at it is not accepted. Also, you must provide some solid reasoning for your choice that is usually based on stats and/or storyline.
4. No changing votes. In popular matches, it can become too hard to see who has changed their votes, and the vote count gets muddled up as a result. So if you are unsure of whom to vote for, wait until you have done your research. However, if you have posted in the fight with your winner, you are welcome to add any information/explanation you like by editing your post. Note that matches may have a virtual poll set up, so once you have cast your vote, there’s no turning back.
5. No bribing others to vote for your team. If I find out about such exchanges via PM or IM, you will be reported to a Kaijuphile moderator or administrator, and may be permanently blocked from the Roost Fighter boards. If you know of anyone who is bribing you into voting for them, report them to the tournament host (Demon Eyes Parker) immediately. Worse consequences may follow for those who do not report them and go along with it...
6. The powers in your stats or moves are the only powers you have. Do not attempt to claim victory by making up powers or moves. Your vote, in such a case, will not be counted.
7. Do not clutter up voting by discussing matches in their threads. Make new threads to talk about any of the matches, or post in the Tournament Discussion to comment.
8. Do not consistently vote for yourself, no matter your opponent, unless you can provide actual, unbiased reasoning. Quite frankly, if you believe, for example, that your character could beat Chronos one-on-one just because you have some special power, then you are a stupid idiot and will be permanently blocked from the Roost Fighter forums. Know how to admit defeat.
Note #1: People who have no characters currently existing in Roost Fighter are welcome to vote in the tournament. However, these individuals are subject to the same rules as all other participants; they are also subject to the same consequences and results of their actions as all other participants.
Note #2: The winner(s) of the previous tournament is always welcome to join the current tournament, should they desire. However, in the past, winners have chosen to sit out for the tournament in order to let other participants have a chance at the victory. This decision is made solely by the individual, and the tournament host (Demon Eyes Parker) accepts no responsibility for, and has no jurisdiction over, such a decision.
