Ok fellow kombatants, who has the list of kharacters appearing in MK:D? I want to know who's in this baby - kause it looks sweet, but I'm wondering if Liu Kang is actually returning (from the dead!) and if any of the robot ninjas (Sektor, Cyrax, Smoke) are koming back. Let's find out who's in it for real!
Please only post konfirmed kombatants. Thanks.

What are you talking about? MK:DA's graphics were far above PS1 level.
I'm picking this up as soon as the stores get it. I loved MK:DA (it reinvigorated the franchise IMHO) but never got around to buying it. This looks to take everything great about DA, add a ton more features and improve on what was already there.

Idunno, those beginng graphics and the rest of the game's graphics weren't even as good as FFVIII's movie graphics. Midway could do so much better then they are now, they said mortal combat was really suppose to be this like 10 secodn creation that they made for the hell of it, and it seems they're still at that same level.

Here's a list of fighters that ARE NOT in MK: D
Cyrax
Johnny Cage
Kano
Kung Lao
Reptile
Sektor
Stryker
This list was found on Gamespot, in a poll called: Whose absence from Mortal Kombat: Deception are you most disappointed by?
So, Sorry Guilala, looks like most of the robots you wanted are going to be abscent. You still have hope for Smoke though! (Whatever happened to the human Smoke?)

Actually Midway took more time in creating Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance than they did with any other Kombat games. If you own the game, there is an extra feature on it that goes behind the scenes and I believe one of the programmers said they had been working on the game for at least several years. More care was put into MK: DA than any of its predecessors. The story was more interesting and original for the series (sad to see my buddy Liu Kang go though :( ). Also, The Krypt and the one mode where you travel to various parts of Outworld training and gaining Koins for The Krypt made the game more interesting and appealing. Many people said "Here we go again!" when MK: DA was released; thinking it would be the same old thing. In fact, many fans of the genre believe MK: DA is the best of the series, though that may change with Deception.
Point is, WAY more time and effort was put into MK: DA than you say they did. The game was heavily welcommed by fans of the genre once they found out it wasn't just "another Mortal Kombat game". This new one is supposed to also have gobs of extras with a Tetris like mode and a chess mode where the Kombat characters are used as the chess pieces.

No REPTILE?!Going by his personal ending from Deadly Alliance, Reptile sorta will be in the game, and at the same time, sorta... won't. ;)

I actually might pick up this game for the soul fact of having Baraka in it. Too bad skeeter (my nickname for sektor) and Striker aren't in it. THey were two of my favorite characters. Never bought Deadly Alliance allthough I would have to say this might top MK3 as one of my favorite fighters of all time.

liu kan.
Not the same old Liu Kang we're used to though.. now he's a kung-fu zombie
And this game earned it's cost the moment I unlocked Shujinko's second outfit and found he looks almost exactly like the Master of the Flying Guillotine (from the old Shaw Brothers kung-fu flick of the same name)

And this game earned it's cost the moment I unlocked Shujinko's second outfit and found he looks almost exactly like the Master of the Flying Guillotine (from the old Shaw Brothers kung-fu flick of the same name)He's easily my favorite character for no other reason than the fact that he looks the way he does. If only he had his trademark weapon... Now that would be a Fatality!
And if anyone wants either a good laugh or an uneasy feeling ('specialy if you've gotten anywhere in Konquest Mode), go check out the GameFAQs forums and witness all the panic, frustration, and crazy conspiracies being cooked up over the "Super-Unlockables" of the game. Seems funny at first, but I have to admit some of the stuff people are picking up on and noticing (such as a certain... religious structure in the Chaos Realm, and a duo from the last game that seems to disappear before you ever get to where they are) actually creeps me out a bit. Seriously. It's like a never-ending episode of Unsolved Mysteries in there, all the conspiracies and possibilities (re: secrets) and easter eggs and putting everything all together...
AS of now, I've decided that I'm only using Konquest to fund my effort to unlock every single koffin in the Krypt that I can (and letting others discover the keys I'd need for me, like the little bloodhound-pawns that I regard them as :darklord: ), and staying out of this overly-complicated and bizarre business until Midway/BradyGames*/somebody comes out and publicly tells us all we need to know. Otherwise, I'd fry my brain over secret realms and locked doors and acronyms in the clouds and seemingly useless keys (not the Krypt kind) with secret purposes and disappearing children and specific dates that hold some meaning in the real world etc. etc. etc...
EDIT: Phish, how did you get Shujinko's alternate costume? I basically know where it is, but I don't know the time it shows up.
