The Combatants: Kiryu Version 2 versus Gamera Heisei
The Battlefield: Tokyo
The Rules: This is Gamera 3 Gamera, the one that doesn't give a **** about humanity. He does not have access to his Mana Beam. Kiryu Version 2 has Akane piloting it, and has six White Herons standing by to provide a distraction, or give Kiryu some extra power if he runs out.
Gamera has the use of his Fireballs disabled for this fight.
The battle ends if one combatant is killed, or knocked out for more than twenty minutes. This supercedes the 'If a kaiju is knocked out, the battle is over' rule that is automatically placed on most battles here at the KK boards.
The two kaiju are scaled to 60 meters.
Who will win?

Gamera Heisei wins easily. He is one tough brute. Not to mention pretty smart. He always seems to have a trick up his sleeve and that's what will help him win.

I agree Gamera usually has a trick up his sleeve; however, fighting Kiryu v2 without any long-ranged weapons is suicide (hopefully I am reading the rules right - no mana beam and no fireballs). In addition, with Akane piloting, Kiryu is probably the better hand-to-hand fighter here.
In my opinion, Kiryu wins easily. :p

No Fireballs & SIX White Herons?! That's just not fair. :(

Again (twice today) ghidorahsaurus is correct. Gamera ONLY has HtH, and while they might work against the inept, the massive and the slow *relatively* (Gyaos, Legion and Irys), they cannot even compare to the zenith of HtH found in the Kiryu machines. Not only can Kiryu blast Gamera with everything before going in to HtH, when it does, Gamera would get beat down. Kiryu can easily dodge the slow hook punches. And if Kiryu gets a grip on Gamera, then the turtle is going on an unplanned flight.

Removing Gamera's fireballs was overkill. Kiryu wins all too easily.

Kiryu wins in a fusillade of missile fire.

It's already been said a couple times, but I agree. Gamera doesn't stand a chance without his fire balls for some long range fighting.

If Aragorn_Strider does not disgree - what does everyone think of this battle if Gamera can use his fireballs?

Yeah, I was just going to make that change, but you beat me to it.

It would be a much closer match. Gamera's assault would do massive damage, but they would have to hit. Kiryu is so fast and agile, that unless it is a point blank shot and Kiryu is being hrld in place, they won't even hit Kiryu. While harder, Kiryu still wins.

One Gamera fireball won't get through Kiryu's armor but will destroy his missile packs and arm masers. Kiryu will proceed to beat down Gamera up close, but Gamera will eventually win with more fireballs and his flight.

A tough fight this is. I think Kiryu would need to fight "the perfect fight" to beat Gamera, where Gamera has room for error. Gammy has shown on numerous occassions he can take a licking and keep on ticking, while Kiryu has been "disabled" a few times. Unless Kiryu can dodge all of Gamera's fireballs while unloading its own arsenal, it will go down hard. I just do not see Kiryu taking Gamera's powerful fireballs well.
EDIT: The above was considering Gamera vs Kiryu, one-on-one. If we take the six White Herons into account, I think Gamera would be overwhelmed and Kiryu would take the victory.

^ Actually, I can't see the masers harming Gamera. If anything, they'd probably help him. Unless they kamikaze him at very high speed I don't see them making a difference.

^ I agree - harm Gamera they may not. [Yoda voice, emphasizing first two words - then dramatic pause] Distract him, they will --- giving Kiyru all the more opportunity to unload.
