Well just for the record, I designed GUIDOLON for Frank Wu's short story published in DAIKAIJU! GIANT MONSTER TALES, and have never even heard of "Guilala" till seeing that here. Just did a Google search on it and see it's from THE X FROM OUTER SPACE, which I've never seen either.

I like your links. I actually was thinking of doing a series of comics on my website for the future as well. Nice work indeed.

Since GUIDOLON is Frank's creation, I asked him & here's his reply:

"Um, no, but I like the way you think. The resolution for "The X from Outer Space" really made no sense whatsoever, but I always thought it was a fun and bizarre image to see the giant monster chasing this tiny white jeep - and completely unable to catch up to it - something really totemic and iconic about that image. But, yeah, the ultimate fate of the X was just... ludicrous. We would never, ever, ever, ever, ever do anything that stupid. Though we might try for "stupider."
