I've been thinking of creating a series of Pokemon fan fiction based upon either Pokemon Emerald or Pokemon FR/LG. This series would follow along closely to the games, not totally screwing the places up like the anime series does. I was wondering if anybody would like to help me consult ideas or lend a character to accompany Hess on his adventure.

I burnt my Pokeman cards the other day in fact...

Hey we DID need fuel for the fire to burn all the evidence of the alchohol we've been drinking.

OOOPS.

I used to be really into it, but I know nothing about anything after the G/S game.

That sounds very fascinating godofPH. I have often contemplated about creating Pokemon fan fiction, but I decided against it. I'm more familiar with the G/S era of Pokemon games, and I have watched some of the episodes, however I have not watched many of the R/S ones.

Well I still have my Ancient Mew card, lol.

I was really addicted to it, but I guess I just got bored after Crystal version. I still have several episodes kept somewhere... in a deep dark vault... for use in the uttermost end of need. The cards I will probably never sell nor give away since I did spend a lot of cash on those things. That, and I tend to be rather sentimental. Oh, and Gyarados rocks, and I like Pikachu.

Peace,

Oh I used to be a fan of the games. I think I grew out of it after 6th grade. I think it was that South Park episode that makes fun of it. CHIMPOKEMON! You have to admit, that is pretty acurate!

Yeah, I'll help. I used to play pokemon (and still do on occassion, when I'm bored, as I do with everything I used to be into), and it's just one of those random things that I never forget.

God of Ph knows im in. We just had a huge discussion about pokemon a few hours ago. Its a child hood thing , im not embarrased to have put over 3000 hours into pokemon hand held games. Thats nothing i have easily doubled that in Halo 2.

I used to be into it, but I only watched the show, watched the movies, played the games, and boutght the toys. The card game never really appealed to me. I think I tossed my cards years ago. Then, I lost interest in about 2001. I still like the designs of a select few (Charizard, Blastoise, Ivysaur, Venasaur, Lugia, Mewtwo ect.).

I used to be in this big time many years ago. Sadly, I guess I just outgrew it. Although I still think the games are extremely fun, I'm just not much a fan of the series anymore unfortunately.

Yep, I've been playing these games for god-knows-how-long. I was playing Emerald between classes today. :p If you want me to help in any way, let me know.

I've been planning on getting the Emerald for sometime now, but I haven't gotten it yet lol. The latest version I have is the Leaf-Green.

I used to be into them, then I lost interest. Still, the upcoming Mystery Dungeon looks to add an interesting new twist on things.

To the Pokemon fans, there has been some good news surfacing from Nintendo about Diamond and Pearl. The new starters have recently been revealed, as well as the two legendary Pokemon that look as if they will be this generation's Lugia and Ho-Oh or Groudon and Kyogre.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pokemon_Diamond

With the new antangonist Team being known as Team Galaxy and the mascot Pokemon Palkia and Dialga being labeled as a Space Ruling Pokemon and a Time Ruling Pokemon (respectively), this new generation of Pokemon looks like it will be the most epic yet. The storylines that will inevitably result from the pursuit of these two mascots looks like it will be quite the adventure.

Though, ever since Ruby and Sapphire, Legendary Pokemon have went from rare, mystical creatures to being pretty much Gods. Palkia and Dialga really solidify this notion of mine.

Augh, they're hideous. I didn't think the designs could could get much worse after the 3rd gen but these ones take the cake. > _ <

Steve, how can you not love that Fire Monkey God?

And apparently we'll finally get to meet the Pokemon Universe's equivalent of God.

'Eh, haven't seen an episode after Digimon came out, though I was pretty good at the games.

I think it was Gold that you could get Tyrant in. Tyrant was awesome.

Ah yes, Pokemon. I remember you. Was it not ten years ago today? Yes, it twas.
I gave you my soul. I spent close to a hundred dollars on your cards. I bought your books, I played your games, I watched your show. I loved you...........Then I got in trouble with my principal for beating some joe blow at my school and making him cry for taking his Charzard as my prize........

damn you.:evilglow:

.....Now it is getting ridiculous. How many can they possibly make?! This has gotten bad after the Gold-Silver era. Just end it now please!

godofPH
October 17th, 2006, 07:05 PM
^They can make as many as they damn well want to :p

Though, I'll admit, after looking through those 4th Gen pokemon...they are running out of ideas. It looked like 90% of the new Pokemon are evolutions or pre-evolutions of already existing Pokemon. That evolution for Rhydon looks hella-cool...but Rhydon was already big and bad enough just as he was. He didn't need an evolution. Neither did Tangela, or Lickitung, or Magmar, or Electabuzz, or Roselia, or Sneasel, or Gligar, or Yanma. (<- all mentioned Pokemon getting an evolved form suddenly out of nowhere)

Ah hell, I'll still get the game anyways. Dialga and Palkia look well worth wading through the crappy, half-assed ideas for Pokemon evolutions. Not to mention the Starters are awesome as ever.

Seer235

What's that? I think it's the sound of them running out of ideas. I can imagine the committee thinking up pokemon going something like this:

"Ok, we've got our 75 previously unknown evolutions for already existing pokemon, cheap knock-offs of already existing pokemon to replace them in this game, pokemon that are exactly like real world creatures, and the 2 original ideas left for new pokemon. That just leaves the legendaries. Any ideas?"

"OOH! Since we had Earth and water last time, why don't we go with that again? Except have it more powerful, like Time and Space. And GOD! God as a pokemon!"

"....Please tell me someone else has an idea."

*Awkward silence*

"Fine, we'll go with that."

I'm sure they'll come up with something logical. With all the new things they have come up with, they are still entertaining.

 Logical... Thats funny...

Anyway, I will stick with my Fire Red thank you. They now have what 500 or so now? It is getting out of control! What is wrong with 150 or at the very most 250. But come on... 500? Enough is enough and it is time to let the series die since they definitely can't be creative anymore.

There are 493, actually. Either way, it's 242 Pokemon too many.

Digimon, at least they have a reason to have so many, and they look ****in' awesome besides.

Pokemon...not so much.

Neither of them should have so many and both of them should go away IMO.:p
