I just saw varan the unbeliveable on dvd from media-belasters (fun movie, good amount of monster action) and I had one question,
Does varan have some sort of wind and fog control powers? everytime varan attacked in the moutains, fog and wind would apear. Could someone clear this up?

According to the stats I've read about him, he doesn't. But it could be possible, since I haven't seen the movie.

Then mayby that could explain his mysterious supernatural past. But to me he is just a big lizard. Then again I haven't seen the movie.

It's just the production crew trying to make the scene more ominous and spooky/terrifying since a giant monster is attacking the people. Nothing more.

Yeah, most surely just due to the tech-crew. It could also have to due to lee-ward west-ward side issues of weather and stuff with mountains.
I'll look into it though again, just to check it out
Oh, and you dang right it's a good movie ;)

The wind and fog I think was just an effect I think, to make the scenes more exciting, but I'm just guessing

I'm sorry to say that I never seen the movie so I don't know. But it was probably added to add depth and creepyness to him. Although I dont think he's scary at all. But maybe that is fog comming off him because like wene you go out of hot water, steam comes off your skin. Might be like that... Just an idea.

Well, I think you should see it. You can order it from amazon or deepdiscountdvd.com. Now if you can't order online, well then your gonna have a hard time finding it even at bestbuy.

The wind and fog is never directly explained in the movie or any Toho material (that I've seen, anyway). It was done to create an eerie effect and to go along with the natives view of Varan as an almost godlike being.
