Keep your eyes on the Ancestors of Godzilla section of Rodan's Roost. Very soon you should be enjoying the entire 1938 version of King Kong. What better way to celebrate the coming arrival of what has the potential to be among the best films of the year. Trying not to get excited, of course, been burned too many times for that, but its kinda hard not to.

Yeah, Saruman, that Pendragon War was really, really bad. Kinda helps to hire actors, not your neighbors. And the over-narration was a terrible, terrible idea. Tomorrow I should be able to say if Spielberg's rendition was any better.

I'm looking forward to this timely addition myself! With the Big Guy on "hiatus", Peter Jackson's KING KONG highly anticipated and Gamera scheduled for a new film, what better time to remember that there are indeed other monsters out there besides Godzilla? ;) Let's explore them in depth as we have our personal favorites. I find that it adds so much more to our enjoyment of their films.

wait, huh? i have no idea what's going on here. first of all, there was a 1938 version of King Kong? was it like a radio drama or something? and what's the Pendragon Wars? what that Orsen Welles War of the Worlds thing?

edit: okay, nevermind. Pendragon War was the more arthouse film kinda War of the Worlds representation coming out this year. the 1938 King Kong was a japanese version that was attempted to start the japanese monster movie rush. didn't quite work out apperently. i have to ask, was this supposed to be King Kong, or their own monster?
